How much independence?

And I think Gwal has taken the hit. Then again, he does form something with the Abyssii, so it kinda works out.

In practice I don't think it will lead to much, but at least on paper if the Mechanicum never becomes the Adeptus Mechanicus, then that means they remain an allied empire as opposed to an Imperial Adeptus, meaning that they'd only be bound by the original Treaty of Olympus Mons, that being to supply the Imperium in exchange for keeping independence and sovreignity. Essentially, the Imperium would have even less control of the Mechanicum if they never become the Adeptus Mechanicus, but keeping them separate means in return the Mechanicum has less influence on actual Imperial policy (beyond 'Do this or we withhold the shiny things')

I wonder if we could do something more with that, then. If Gwal takes the hit, then forge worlds would be, naturally, embittered towards him and less willing to provide aid, which the Abyssii could use to their advantage, using the relationship that formed during the first contact crisis as an excuse to supply Gwal in light of other forges failing to perhaps?

Hmmm simple work around.

Graviton warheads. Crush targets under their own weight.

I quite like this, makes the actual tech part of the Ordinatus feel more specialised as opposed to just 'giant cannon'

It is an interesting path to take

I like it. It helps chart out what was happening to the Wardens of Light during the Great Crusade. It gives Mortera another level of influence, further helping her take power later. And it helps differentiate between Primarchs when it comes to politics. It's not just the morally questionable Primarchs who are causing issues.

I've just had a thought for a way to flesh out the Blackshield forces if we so desired; We could create a thread where people post their ideas for BotL-verse Legions that didn't quite cut it, or we didn't have room for. If there are any ideas that might work as Blackshields, we can expand them. Thoughts?

So good news, once armies on parade is finished I should be able to get back to being more active here. First priority will be to finish building my Accipitrax (Sniper Thallax), then the Myrmdion Custos. Still grasping at straws on how to build the Mammothar. I've also decided on a colour scheme for the Abyssii Skitarii; blue and brass, with cream trim

If people are interested I can share pictures of my armies on parade entry as well. It's got what my legion would have looked like, as well as some of their special units

In the wake of the First Solar War, the Loyalist Insurgos will have largely given way to warbands, some forming entities closer to the Shattered Legions. Now, with Aegar Vyrn anchoring these in the realm around Nox, what Legions will contribute bits?

Not sure but I think that the void eagles have a special unit using saturnine.

Thought it was the pattern with the veeeeery big shoulder pads

The Saturators I believe, they come with dual heavy weapons. Or at least they did when I last checked.

And Saturnine is supposed to look something like this:

What film is that?

Btw, do we have any Legion specific patterns of armour, as opposed to variants? Seem to recall that Corinthian is a pattern in its own right, and GS Wraiths have theirs.

Were you thinking rules-wise or just fluff-wise?
