I am happy for all my Baalite brothers who wanted them...and I am glad we have the options...but I have to admit I am slightly disappointed. It was wishful thinking on my part, but I secretly harbored hope that we didn't have those units because we would get something different and unique and more Blood Angel-y. Like a unique badass flyer and/or special rules that let us do the equivalent of Centurions, but with higher-speed, lower-drag units. <shrug> oh well. I have hope yet (I am a Blood Angel, after all...) that Sanguinary Guard will be BEASTS with S8 D3 Wound AP-4 weapons or something and DC will be even blendier. But Rowboat Girlyman's magical save-the-day-ness for Baal makes me think that we will be eclipsed by the Spiritual Liege and become red marines after all. Le sigh. In 8E you can shoot pistols in your own shooting phase, even while locked in combat. All the special pistols certainly got a lot more interesting. Now that two close combat weapons do not give a bonus attack anymore, they can also be paired with powerfists and such. I'm curious to see how well we transition to the new edition. Battle focus - allows elder to run and still shoot anything except heavy weapons with a -1 to hit penalty (if I understood correctly). Also, dire avengers are movement 7. He did mention that grav platforms always count as stationary. which also didnt make sense, it may be that the usual -1 for running and shooting with assault weapons is actually ignored with battle focus? Sorry, I read assault weapon rules this morning, and I agree it doesnt seem quite right, so think i didnt understand this rule possibly. And they shall know no fear was really clear in its description, likewise he seemed pretty adamant that options available to each codex remain unchanged (which again, as others have said, seems to contradict other things we've heard) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
