Private Gunnderson of the 101st Gilgamesh Recon Squad peered over an expansive 1000km bridge connected two strategic bases of the Quirn Valley. A light rain began to fall as storm clouds gathered overhead. Below him the 224th Armored Column churned the gears of war, heading to cut off an enemy advance. If the armored company were successful, the enemy would be surrounded and crushed. He scanned the bridge with his auspex. Nothing larger than the lizards and heron of the river Quirn fluttered about. Gunnderson voxxed the all clear to the tank command's HQ. The column lurched forward halfway across the expanse before the lead chimera exploded in thick smoke and ghost-green warp-flame. It was only then Gunnderson realized his mistake...
