Karhedron
If we get the Stormhawk but not the Stormtalon, of which I have two all painted red and everything, I think my head will explode.Likewise. I have 2 Stormtalons painted black to honour the memory of former pilots who succumbed to the black rage and were inducted into the DC. The Stormtalons' machine spirits still mourn their former pilots. If I have to run mixed chapter air-wing formation I will do it but I will be most annoyed. 1 BA Storm raven and 2 Red Marine Stormtalons. Chapter Traits don't usually apply to vehicles so I can't see too much downside in this apart from not being able to buff their shooting with BA characters. Panzer
Just gonna quote myself from the N&R section ^^ Not a great fan of the pose and the sword hilt looks a bit too clunky for a chapter that's supposed to be all about making art in their "freetime" and applying that to armor and weapons as well. Especially since the rest of the Primaris armor is all about smooth curves and such. I know I know it's a Primaris and not a regular Marine and he probably just joined the Blood Angels, but models are kinda timeless since we'll be using the same model even when the Primaris joinging the BA is a thing from the past long ago. Still nice to have a special BA Lieutnant tho I guess. Not a must-buy for me but good enough to pick up eventually.
sockwithaticket
It's how I feel about a lot of GW releases, most of it will be good, but there'll be some key detail they've botched. That right arm is completely out of sync with what the rest of the model's pose is doing and the proportions on the sword are weird.Other than that it's a solid if unspectacular model with a few nice BA specific details. He does however, have less bling than the average veteran in my Crimson Tears .

Karhedron
https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/11/23/revealed-new-warhammer-holiday-season/ Not spectacular for our first model of 8th edition but nice enough I guess. Interesting that the colour scheme seems brighter more orangey than it has for several editions (almost 2nd ed level of orange ).
Blindhamster
It's the scheme seen on all their primaris so far from GW. I am getting painted by David Perryman again (the chap that gave me the recipe he used on the other eavy metal blood angels primaris)

Bremon
I don’t mind the look of it. I wish he had a plasma pistol in his right hand but that hand sort of looks broken, so maybe he’s just too injured. Glad we didn’t get a bare head sculpt like DA (or that comical looking Death Guard lord of contagion).

utilityzero
I think we will get a lack luster and very situation army wide rule and the worst part is that they could have given us some faction tactics for our successors that would have allowed for a bunch of different play styles and themes, almost like a bunch of different vampire bloodlines. The nice thing about the BA lt is he could easily stand in for a PA captain as well thanks to the iron halo. I'd rather have strigoi wulfen marines than Assault Centurions in this edition. New units generally means better rules. I don't think it's entirely impossible either. GW wants to make you buy new models, not make ones you have worthwhile. Still, I can hope against reason we get something to help us get our guys into combat. Advance and charge would be excellent. Maybe with minus 1 to charge range? They let other armies advance and shoot, why not give assault armies some sort of advantage. Biggest problems with 8th are not new to 40k and are all core issues. Assault is risk-reward while shooting is more predictable and stable. Nearly all our special rules are tied to characters and bubbles and 8n the case of psychic powers require dice rolls of they fizzle while other armies get crazy game breaking rules for their units or entire army that just happen. People are up in arms about Ynari getting nerfed and I'm still just incensed they got something that amazing to begin with. Same for reanimation protocols. GW is not capable of balancing the two different approaches to design with one another. Same thing helped kill WHFB. 9x19 Parabellum, Dolchiate Remembrancer and RelentlessPursuit 3 Back to top
RelentlessPursuit
I agree completely. I love the vampiric side of the blood angels chapter although I realise a lot of my peers don't - I love the old bloodquest comics with the hulking vampiric marines who have succumbed to the rage. I will be taking the opportunity now the tower of amereo has been fleshed out abit to use age of sigmar vargheists with trinkets and other gems harking back to their marine-selves. Not sure what I will use them as alongside my primaris fleshtearers - maybe deathcompany dreads? aggressors? centurions? suggestions please! Dont-Be-Haten
Haven't read DoB yet. But after listening to the Chosen of Khorne and the 8-Pointed path. In regards to how the "Flesh Tearer" had fully succumbed to the Red Thirst, (it seemed he had been completely lost for some time by his description) Was more comical rather than a hulking monster or mutated manbeast. Blindhamster
In DoB it says that they are twice the height of a mortal man (so 10-12' tall) red skinned, inhumanly muscled, yellow fangs and claws
brother_b
Primaris. Ok. Ughhhhh, To embrace or to continue to reject? I guess that's something we BA players deal with on a daily (gaming) basis. I'm still on reject for the primaris at this point but I'll be open to consideration based on our codex. Blindhamster
I'm with Dante. He views them as the future and a source of hope, as does corbulo. Even if I didn't already love the models, That would have sold it. But I may actually mix stuff now, which I didn't do before! Bremon
I love the non-jump pack Primaris (except reivers, they’re worst of all) but don’t love the way they play so I embrace them as the future but won’t use them extensively until the range fleshes out.
