I can totally relate to this. Patience is soooooo key! That's why I have to take long breaks from converting space marines. Everything has to look perfect along the smooth lines of the armor, or it can look a bit off. Orks are so much easier, lol. But you clearly have got the knack for it. Your latest work has been really good!

If you want my opinion, I would mirror the trim around his powerfist, on the greaves. I think the chest should stay as it is. This I think will get you in the "sweet spot" of ornamentation, and the eye has a place to go.

Thanks @The Pounder

Helbrecht arrived and has been slightly butchered to make a start on the Master of Sanctity.

I figured a knightly Chapter wouldn't be opposed to a whopping two-handed Crozius

I'm really glad the serf worked out. The Dark Angels vehicle book bit is the same length as the combi-melta luckily.

@space wolf Gave it a go but chickened out on the doing the curvy spikey bits of trim. Instead I found a bit from a Redemptor sarcophagus that I had casted with blue stuff and filled the space with that instead. No the neatest but I don't really do fiddly sculpting like this frequently.

I like where you're going with this.

Always amazes me how people use green stuff to goo effect!

And I'm a +1 with The Punder here. I particularly envy people who still have this kind of zeal that you exhibit in doing these labour-intensive kitbashes and conversions. While I've almost given up on this kind of work, pelase continue so that I can experience by proxy the thrill of what I define as 'oldschool hobbying.'

@space wolf It is indeed. I had I spare from getting the Guilliman issue of the Hachette Partworks magazine ages ago and then saw captaingatsustudio on Instagram use it on a Terminator Captain they converted. Thought it looked cool and did the same. I'm also tempted to clip the sword blade off and replace it with the Emperor's Sword but I think it's slightly too big to work on this.

Oh yeah! This is coming along nicely! Well done! I'd shy away from using the flaming sword. 40k weapons are already comically big, but you dont want to use something so recognizable on your captain...unless of course he is a stand in for guilliman...?

That moment when you think you've done and take the nice photos only to realise you've forgotten to do the damn script on the purity seals... :wallbash:

Getting better at the the photography side of things at least.

Happens to me all the time! Last occurrence was finishing my jump chaplain and ancient and forgeting to do the exhausts on the jump packs...

As for the topic at hand...I love the knightly aesthetic you've given your marines

What a cracking conversion! I love the power fist, and I'm surprised how big Grimnar is for Primarch weapons to fit!

Is he Grimnar in rules? If so, are you planning to do any kind of counts-as for his wolves? Maybe a couple of mortal retainers/men at arms? (Could use something from the Bretonnian Old World kits?)
