One more question CM, but this one can be thought on for a bit, as it effects rounds 3+, will trigonometry matter?

I ask as I'm up on a building I think you said were rather tall, and trigonometry could make the difference between long range / optimal range or short range....

Steel, I'm not factoring it in as it adds far too much of a headache. It's a layer of bookkeeping I don't need. Unless the result causes something stupid and immersion-breaking to happen, I'm fine with it.

possibly, all depends on how many stories is "several".... I mean each story is approximately 4.3m on average, so it could be as little as 12.6m up or as many as 43m up... and 10m over... Hence why I asking if Trig was going to be a factor.

Thanks for the spot, A.T.

I have added the +30 to the shots, but the Only War stats have Heavy Bolters at -/-/5 and Multi-Lasers at -/-/6. It did get another point of magnitude off though!

Xin, would you kindly run Horde 3 over?  Maybe twice?

Ta muchly. ^_^

MR.

If you would kindly roll out of the way ...;)

Or maybe stay prone, at this range, Vaidan may be able to hit them with the heavy bolter :)

Remind me not to ram into other vehicles while people are standing on the vehicle I am driving....

Then again, why are you standing on speeding vehicles?! Don't they hand out safety regulations where you are from?! ;)

Xin, go back a couple of pages and see the strolling through Ultramar video. ;)

I am pretty sure this is disrespectful to the machine spirit and violates several chapters of the Codex Astartes!

But actually, Could I move the Chimera forward to shield Akkad from the horde? (Maybe telling him beforehand this time)

I wasn't standing on it, I was standing out of the back hatch!  Perfectly reasonable.

The Codex Astartes calls this manoeuvre Steel Rain.  It allows for devastating, deployment of deep striking devastators.

I did roll out of the way my friend, we're on the same page don't worry. You're free to bolter 'em as you wish.

This combat has revealed interesting aspects in combat design for Deathwatch. I realised when the Heavy Weapons team fired at Tyber and Varvost that the Only War stats of 1D10+4 are unable to injure a Space Marine at all. The original stats for the weapon were 2D10+4. As it stands the Space Marines are carving through this combat with little risk to themselves. (Of course, I hadn't considered that you would still be using the Chimera...)

As a note, there is a time-sensitive element here in that the forward two hordes are charging toward the breach in the barrack walls. If you as a Kill-Team can find some way to slow them down or eliminate them, that would be useful for the PDF defenders. Alternately, finding some way to rouse the PDF defenders?

Got a small solution to that problem.

AT traverses the Medusa 45 degrees within it's pivot, drops it to zero elevation and fires over open sights at Horde 1.  With a Siege Gun.

Steel and I can hose at Horde 5, the Chimera can hose at Horde 5, running Horde 3 over.  Vaidan could hail the defenders if he desires?

It's the hordes themselves that are the risk, rolling the extra dice can make them unpredictably lethal.

CM when it comes to a heavy stubber, I've found a few different stats for it, with Only War being on the low end, maybe look at the Black Crusade version?

Though if you want support weapons that are dangerous, Heavy Bolters (mortal versions) can be a happy medium between threat and non threat. At the other end of the spectrum, Auto-Cannons, missile launchers and Laz-Cannons are going to cause death or dismemberment each shot.

Very much so - a Mag 40 Horde of Firewarriors are putting out 3 x 1D10+12 that cannot be dodged.

Melee hordes of any quality with commanders are dicey, especially something at 50-60 Mag and Chaos Space Marines, Tau Battlesuits and advanced Necron types are downright dangerous.  Hordes like this in the intro ission give the impression we're walking through them, but that's because of what is available and how many of us there are  -the Chimera has also tipped the balance, as Mol has said.

Lascannon armed HWT and Plasma Cannons, etc as Steel rightly says will take arms off.  Broadside battlesuits will just outright Fate Point a Marine into the dead pile.

MR.

Round 4 might see Tyber trying some inspiring shouting over the external vox unit towards the Imerial Defenders... as a way to help try getting them into the fight. :)

Slips, you do have the opportunity to fire at another group of cultists should you wish, or the southernmost siege gun, potentially. Just offering you options!

Sorry that it took a bit for the rolls to get done, my daughter got up early from her nap and I had to deal with a wet bed and a kid whom is now sick today it seems like...

Edit:

Update, turns out she's fine seems like she ate too much pineapple at lunch...

Also stupid autocorrect....
