@Steel Company & @apologist, I've edited my post to reflect conversation after the bout, I think Achillion will be sticking around so there could be chance for interactions with Yeng & Co if that doesn't mess your posts up. He's happy to take a backseat role in the conversation if you've already spoken privately with others how the talks would go - he's not used to actually conversing with more than one or two people at a time, so it would make sense that he'd stay relatively quiet and try and get a read on these newcomers (offering a witty jibe here and there if he could, he doesn't let his speech impediment hinder his good humour).

Edited by Mojake

@Mojeake and Apologist, nothing's been talked about yet, I left the door wide open for Apologist to work their magic. And thanks Mjoake for being willing to make that edit, I think it'll flow well with getting some character interaction going.

That's all me and Komrk had in mind for regicide, what do you think? I tried to include other characters in my half of the post, namely Yeng and Boros. If there are any objections as to their demeanor in the post, I will of course edit so it fits better.

It really is brilliant to see you all co-ordinating so well! Your posts are a joy to read.

Steel: Mojake has edited to include your questions from post #2235 in post #2226. Could you re-work #2235 to eliminate the repetition and then bridge to Apologist's placeholder in #2236?

Petragor/Komrk: Beautiful stuff! Petragor, if you're unsure about timelines you could place this after Apologist's post - Yeng takes Embe and Boros to the fighting cages - Boros insists on heading to be armoured, but Embe returns to the Apothecarion, where Kol plays him at Regicide. Could this suggest that Kol and Embe have met before (2 years ago) and are somewhat cordial?

Yeah, that's something I've been thinking about too. Me and Komrk agreed they've met and spoken a long while ago, but we were too busy writing up the scene to consider the finer details of their relationship. Cordial sounds about right, but I would like to know what Komrk thinks as well.

Hey folks, I know I've not posted in here yet so I just thought I'd chuck a quick message in (mainly just so you don't all think I'm as much of a d**k as Lycus is coming across as xD )

Looking forward to working with you all going forward :) Can't wait to see which squaddies I end up with :) Should be very interesting to see what happens :D

As I mentioned in the email, this is a bit where the ball is firmly in your courts - so I'd say Tuesday/Wednesday would likely be when I'd be looking to update - but that doesn't mean necessarily moving the narrative on - I think you guys have got quite a lot to do, and it's important to establish the connections in the Kill-Teams!

Yeah, I figure they would have a cordial relationship from talking previously

I’m glad we agree. Apologist, you mentioned a scene with Yeng, Chaka and Boros?

Yes indeed – I'm pleased to say I carved out some time to write, so it's posted up in the revised placeholder here. Hope you like it!

I wanted to include Achillion a little, too; but the post was getting rather long and involved. Apologist, Mojake, I felt it would be better to have Yeng miss Achillion in the first instance – perhaps you could have him return and meet Yeng as he leaves? It'd be nice to have a one-to-one; perhaps the librarian could set the Claviger-Gentle's mind at ease?

I was thinking that Pallan may be drawn towards our Star Phantom comerade.  I intend for him to pick up on alot of the hostility towards Lycus at the Chapel and as he has his own self hate and thinks everyone has the same opinion of him he may seek out this new brother.  Perhaps even at the firing range.  The other brother he bond with is Argus, as like the Blood Ravens the Star Leopards don't know their primogentor.  Whilst most are told Dorn as an Apothecary Pallan is more knowledgeable on their... mixed heritage (Yay 13th Founding).

Otherwise if Mol could hit me up with a description of the empty at this point Apothecarion Pallan could instead go there. Either of these two could work with my next lead on from my two place holders.  Will hopefully fill them tomorrow or the next day.

As for whats next, Killteam Blackthorn, lets bring it...

@Vorkys, Gideon: Titus will be glad to still be working with you guys! :D

Who do people think for squad Sarge?

My initial thoughts:

I know Titus wouldn't want it, he sees his recon abilities as more useful in an advisory role?

I wonder if we should go for one of the original Swordhand members, for the sake of continuity for the majority and them not feeling like an interloper is stepping in?

That said, is it good to have a Tac Specialist as Sgt, which we don't have among the original members?

Does anyone's characters have background exp as a Sgt?

The post looks good to me, I don't feel the need to add anything. I did edit my previous post to say that Boros is still in the apothecary, only eager to leave.

That sounds awesome to me. I know when Apostle and I conceptualised his character we knew he would be (obviously unjustly!) villainised by some, but it is good to see he will have some allies, particularly his new comrades - Pyke, Incariel and Arcost.

Regarding the Apothecarion, I added some detail in my post with Boros and Embe waking up, but it's all very sketchy. I just try to mix high-tech with gothic.

The central Apothecarion chamber is customarily cold; candles and the dim light of electro-sconces help to illuminate the stone slabs and tables, taken up by the tools of the Apothecary’s trade. One wall is filled with jars and phials, labelled in a flowing hand. A number of deactivated surgical servitors stand limply in arched alcoves decorated with the prime helix, their scalpels and rotary saws retracted.

When you enter you see Yeng in his Mark III war-plate, the ancient suit of armour’s bulk preventing you from seeing behind him. The odd Apothecary is mercurial at the best of times; inscrutable at the worst - but few of you can mistake the smile upon his face. When he movesto one side, you are greeted with an even more welcome sight.

You have seen them before, of course. After the bio-ship, during the campaign for Syndalla, some of you will have made the journey to visit them. Their features were distorted by the haziness of the stasis field, reduced to an unreadable blur. Could they experience anything? Did they hear your prayers, or the one-sided conversations you had with them? Did they dream?

Now is your opportunity to ask. Sitting on the slabs are Castor Boros, the Revenant Angel, and Chaka Embe, the Celestial Lion. Their nakedness only highlights the fresh scarring and surgical suture-work; the new bionics worn by Boros. They are alive. Better than that, they seem hale and well.

It is as though the dark spell of the last weeks has been broken, in an instant.

I'm not quite understanding, are you suggesting that I leave before the 3 of you turn up? That's fine by me, just need to know how to edit.

Posted a placeholder btw, I'll present it as though Achillion is facilitating the choice of sergeant but ofc we'll discuss it OoC on here to pick

Basically; though I'm equally happy to adjust. My thought was, you have the fight, rush out, then change your mind and double-back – by which time Yeng has come down the stairs and is talking with Teralil.

I put a placeholder up for the next scene. If anyone would like to converse with Pyke just let me know. I could see him trying to talk with Incarial as a fellow Devastator. He would also be sizing up the other team mates getting a feeling for who he would back as team lead.

I'm all for a little back and forth between the two big guns on the team. Makes sense for them to forge something of an understanding considering their shared duty and role within the squad. Don't have time for a full post right now, but I'll have a placeholder taking valuable real estate until I do. We can figure something out here or privately if you're after an extended encounter -- or we can just ride by the seat of our power-pants and wing it.
