Hi CM, good wedding?

I know, I'm also debating if it's worth that extra d10 mag damage once... not sure it'd make much of a difference right now...

Edit:

Just read the IC thread, going to rock solo mode... the jump pack is required for wrathful descent.

Steel: Thanks! Yes, everything was brilliant, thanks - three weeks til I am back at school and will have more time for updates!

Thanks, Dos. If it is necessary or prudent I will have Vaidan act for you, but it is likely that you'll be able to post. The game is in slight hibernation at the moment!

All: Please remember that you have the option of spending a fate point to count as having rolled a 10 on your initiative. Something to consider is that the cultists are going to have AG3 - so the highest initiative they can have is 13. If you Initiative is 14 or more, you will act twice before the cultists can act once!

I am keen to see you starting to strategise!

Place holder replaced.... this is going to be a long and ugly fight.... Then again we just need to get them down to 25-50% strength to get them to route, as I doubt they are fearless.... and if they are... well :censored:.

Fantastic as always Nine, I should be taking lessons.

Thanks steel, you guys give me plenty of inspiration!

Thanks to you too Nine, I've been getting loads of inspiration on how to develop Tyber's Character and personality based purely on the interactions of the squad.. This mission is causing him to re-evaluate what had been his driving goal for a long, long time.

Possible to bring down, certainly. I imagine the ferocious impact of the shuttle will have weakened the surrounding buildings. Though you have little at your disposal to do so. Krak grenades, perhaps?

GM/Mol:

I'm thinking we are concealed from the mob at the moment? A Krak grenade would work just fine as it keeps us concealed - in the dark, when attacking, always use grenades first I was told.  No muzzle flash.   What numbers (rolls) do you want me to work to chap?

MR.

Per the rulebook it would be a BS test allowing you to throw it your strength bonus in metres, with degrees of success allowing you to double/triple/quadrouple it. You are approximately 30ish metres. So your BS test and then rolling damage. You could do a half move if you think it appropriate.

Finally updated.

By the way Mol, on pg 360 of DW CORE:

A flame weapon used on a Horde will hit it a number of times

equal to one quarter of the weapon’s range (rounding up),

plus 1d5. So a flame weapon with a range of 10 will hit a

Horde 1d5+3 times.

CM great update, just to nit-pick a little...

As per Core Rule book, page 360 under Flame weapons:

"A flame weapon used on a Horde will hit it a number of times equal to one quarter of the weapon’s range (rounding up), plus 1d5. So a flame weapon with a range of 10 will hit a Horde 1d5+3 times."

So Vaidan's flamer (with a range of 20 as per the Errata) should do 5+1D5 hits... for a total of 6-10 mag damage.

Edit #1:

Dang it, ninja'ed by Slips...

Edit #2:

With that building falling on the horde and taking 29 wounds, that brings up this rule for hordes on page 360 as well, under breaking hordes:

"• When a Horde’s Magnitude is reduced by 25% in a turn,
it must make a Willpower Test when it is its turn to act
again. If it passes, it may continue to act. If it fails, it
breaks and flees at its highest move value.
• If the Horde’s Magnitude is less than 50% of its starting
value, it suffers a –10 to the Willpower Test. If the
Horde’s Magnitude is less than 25% of its starting value,
it will automatically break.
• Hordes composed of enemies with the Fearless talent do
not have to test to see if they break as their Magnitude is
eroded: they have to be wiped out to the last."

So 29 mag damage would force a test on a mag 116-119 horde.... provide they are not fearless, I really hope they are not fearless.... also is that big guy near Tyber troop/elite/master? Not that it matters much, Tyber is going to be picking a fight soon....

Soudns good CM, just didn't want you to miss anything since the flame weapons section was above the breaking of a horde section.

Edit:

Wait, what? This is one big horde?

We're going to do our best, but I have a feeling that the defenders of the temple are going to die.... (along with all of us...)

Thanks for taking control of Vaidan for me, Mol. We're on our way back home and I'm navigating/keeping an eye on the driver for the whole trip (~1000 km).

Unfortunately there's little chance I can update before Sunday/Monday.

Have a safe journey.

Just idly wondering how far nuts Sabaan will go when he sees those tractors as opposed to "if". :happy.:

MR.

Steel, don't worry about the rules too much. My primary objective is what is narratively interesting and suitably dramatic. In this circumstance, I am tracking total damage to the enemy as it is useful to me. It is separate to game mechanics!

Sounds good CM! We will see if Tyber can split the big guy open like a watermelon with a krak 'nade later this morning.... once I have a chance to fire up the laptop.

Place holder replaced.
