Vazzy
Nicely done, the metallic colour of the shoulder looks good. I think the melta barrel could do with some heat staining, at the minute the gun seems to be a solid block of metal, so it would be good to break it up. I agree Pearson, I'll probably fix it up. To be honest this was honestly more of a test to see how the color scheme works, so it's a bit lazy. Still debating if I would rather use the light metallic spray that KizzDougs uses. I'm just not sure if it's too dark. The XIIth, to my knowledge, no longer has the skill or patience to execute such attacks. Perhaps the XIIIth has been deployed? We have heard rumors of the fight at Pharos. Also of note is the flagging communications. Vox ghosts and voice distortion color everything and I am beginning to wonder if the two issues are more closely related than expected. *Chief Apothecary Augustus* As he finishes typing his report, he hears the hiss of an opening door. Before he can turn, before he can even greet his visitor his plastron explodes in a spray of white ceramite and gore. The bolt shells are muffled, it seems the rounds are a subsonic stealth type, though his MkIV war palte has failed to keep them out. The violence of the hits spins him against the wall, facing his would be assassins. As his transhuman form works to seal his injuries, Augustus realizes these wounds are not fatal. Debilitating yes, but they won't kill him. His slate gray eyes struggle up, and he is shocked by what he sees. Not the dirty white of the XIIth, not even the midnight plate of a Night Lord. It is the pale blue of the XXth, alternating between a blue and a green. "How...?" The Alpha Legionaire's helm is the new pattern, Corvus. It cocks quizzically, and raises the modified bolter in it's hand. Augustus scrabbles for the pistol at his desk, but his strength is fading. The Alpha Legionaire steps past him, plugging a data thief into his open terminal. Augustus cannot tell what the mysterious warrior did, but as the marine steps away, he looks again to the fading apothecary, a growing pool of red around the body. The Ultramarines glassy eyes are vacant, and the Alpha Legion commando fires another round, pulping his enemies skull against the wall. He smiles, knowing that should the Ultramrines trace the origin of the bolt casings he has 'haphazardly' left behind, they will point to Nostramo for origin. Pearson73
Nice bit of a fluff there, I know it can become a bit clichéd after the nth time, but I always enjoy the 'surprise!' betrayals and executions of the Alpha Legion, for example there's a similar scene on the bridge of a World Eater's battleship which always gives me satisfaction. The use of Raven Guard kits works well, I guess there's a fair amount of overlap between the deployment and methodology of the Mor Deythan and Headhunters. Vazzy
"Demoralize the enemy from within by surprise, terror, sabotage, assassination. This is the war of the future." -M.2 Dictator They move like ghosts, shadows moving within shadows. Each one has been specifically retained for this mission following standout performances in easier, less subtle missions. Their armor shimmers, shifting between blue and green. Red lenses glow in the low light, piercing the gloom of the forgefane. Each one save their leader carries a melta weapon, and as the Mechanicum acolytes continue their work on the God-Machine in the hangar, they wait. There are easier ways to sabotage the titan. In truth, they could have done it months ago. Security, despite being led by members of the legions astartes, as well as the armored thalaxii, is not lax. But the serpent is patient. It knows that should it overextend, bite off more than it can chew, it will be caught out, and it will die. So it waits. The rebirth of Narcis Rex is cause for celebration. Flocks of citizens have appeared to wish it well. The Warlord has been reborn following Ithraca and will likely turn the tide for the loyalists against the 12th, allowing the elements of the 129th company to rejoin the larger war effort. This cannot be allowed. The serpent strikes when it’s opponent is weakest. The Warlord has taken it’s first unsteady steps, and the crowd is in a frenzy, it’s roar deafening to the ear. They never hear the hiss of the melta beams, never see the warriors of the 20th fire. They only see the knee joint of the titan collapse, and the titan with it. Casualties are immense, and the Warlord will not march for at least another six months. No evidence of the Alpha Legion is seen or heard. No one knows how the saboteurs even managed to get close enough to fire, let alone get into the forgefane. Security is doubled, and manages to prevent agents of Horus from damaging the repair systems of the super heavy vehicles of the militia. This too, was as intended. [believed to be Headhunter Prime Alpha. Carries modified Hydra-Pattern Boltgun] @Pearson Thanks man! Gamma310
I like where this is going. Your Yellow has a nice vibrant touch but the bright gold trim needs to be washed once or twice to make it darker. That way your cool Yellow will pop out more. Will you leave the flames like this or putting more black onto it to make tha yellow disappear? Can't wait to see more Legio Fureans Titans here :) Vazzy 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/345176-ruminations-on-betrayal-alpha-legion-stealth-squad-71119/page/6/#findComment-5261364 Share on other sites

The soul of the machine, Malus Rex, lust for war, for tearing it's foes limb from limb. Vazzy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAJcDdw0uGA "If you must fall seven times, Stand up eight." -Chogorian Proverb Krn'hsk radwastes, Terra, OD +12 The Hydra knows he is being hunted. He has struggled to avoid the wild riders in white for three days now, having killed the bone and rune draped shaman they so dearly cherished with a bolt round to his smiling face. His sapphire armor is dented and bears the mark of battle, the snarling serpent on his shoulder so damaged that not a single head remains. He suspects this a poor omen. He never even notices the shadow that rises up from the red sands, the white and red armor also battered from weeks of war. He turns to late, seeing the vape gun pointed at him. He is tired, and this costs him. His boltgun barely has time to move before the melta beam takes him mid-thigh, dropping him to the earth. He doesn't scream, though the pain is immense. The White Scar approaches slowly, and the serpent is amazed as massive falcon lands upon the warriors power pack. The Chogorian squats and pulls free the the crippled warriors helm, and then his own. His killers face is a toothy visage, marred solely by a single, white scar. "You ran for long time Alpha Legionary. But in the end you fall, just like all do. Die well." The words, uttered in broken gothic, chill the warrior in blue to his core, and he struggles for his fallen bolt rifle. He never reaches it. A golden hilted blade slits his throat, so deeply and savagely that his genehanced body cannot save him.
