Adeptus Titanicus - wishlisting and builds etc

Picked up my rules set today, and while I'm still reading everything, I thought I'd share my initial build. It comes in at 1,315 points and is built around a Venator Light Maniple core, with a second Reaver (Bellum Sacrum) as reinforcement.

Reaver 'Red Naga'

- laser blaster, meltacannon, carapace warp missile

Warhounds 'Enervatus' & 'Mandragorax'

- plasma blastgun, turbo laser destructor

Warhound 'Iron Hunger'

- plasma blastgun, Vulcan megabolter

Reaver 'Bellum Sacrum'

- Reaver power fist, meltacannon, Apocalypse missile launcher

I figure I'll play this fairly aggressively, attacking voidshields with my Warhounds & hopefully taking full advantage of the Venator maniple rule to gain extra attacks at unshielded Titans with Red Naga's weapons. Bellum is more of a bonus engine-killer, and will probably run a flank (perhaps with one of the Warhounds) to close-in & do some damage.

The good thing is that I can drop Bellum to get to 1,000 points exactly, or swap in another Warhound for 1,250 exactly.

I'm hoping it might mean plastic gargants though.

Building my first warlord today I wonder if the as alternate weapons are more likely to be different named classes of warlord titan. It's a full sprue and made just the arm and carapace options. I reckon will need s full sprue therefore for every two arm + two carapace combo.

I’ve started on my Fureans Maniple.

I got the GME and have built one Warlord into subassemblies for painting and a couple of old Forumware Warhounds. Hope to get my first game in on Thursday at the FLGS.

Still reading the rules but there’s at least five of us who have the GME at the store who are eager for a game.

I’m still trying to figure out how I’m going to paint the black flames on them. At least the Warlord will be large enough so that it wont be too much of an issue. Definitely going to have to use a brush though.

Battlebunnies has some stuff up from WHF Europe from Marcus T who attended:

http://battlebunnies.blogspot.com/2018/08/warhammerfest-europe-2018-pics-and-info.html?m=1

He reaffirms next month for the Reaver (which combined with Rogue Trader means another expensive month for me!), October for the Warpup BUT end of year/beginning of next for the weapon sets!

Yeesh, that’s a bit of a wait for the poor Warlord and it’s limited loadout. Welcome to the Specialist Games way of doing things for me I guess!

Edit: oh and those WD team Fire Wasps are exactly what I want mine to be painted like (I like the clean, manufactorium fresh look).

I’ve been reading the rule book and Eldar Titans are specifically mentioned as fighting alongside loyalist Titans against Traitors during something referred to as The Baltimore Sigma Intervention. This event was during the Heresy and before Beta Garmon.

Could we see Eldar Titans sooner than expected?

I really want to see some more heraldry before i decide on what Legio i want to do

Vogon - i read that and despite what they said in their first AT live stream, I am certain we'll see new factions within 2 years

I remember people saying the same thing about Orks and Eldar when Horus Heresy was first released.  I wouldn't hold my breath.

Sounds like a perfect excuse for a campaign book with new sets. Eldar have 4 different types of knights (wraithknight, fire gale, towering destroyer, and bright stallion) and 3 types of titans with the revenant and the heavier phantom and warlock. Designs reminiscent of the original designs by Jes Goodwin would have my preference.

Really curious to see what else is in the pipeline. A lot I hope.

More pics of the warhound sprues have emerged on Battle Bunnies http://battlebunnies.blogspot.com/2018/08/adeptus-titanicus-warhound-sprues.html.

The warhounds have 2 different heads, 2 different crotch armour plates, and 3 different armour plates for the legs. All come in pairs.

There are 4 different top armour plates (one pair traitors with 2 designs, 1 pair loyalists with 2 designs).

Legs are in one bit but there are differences in how they are positioned (different angles) and I would not be surprised if you can use left as right and vice-versa.

Slightly off topic but does anyone know of any third parties products of approximate scale that I might be able to use as tiny Secutarii?

No in game bearing but I just wanted to have them around.

If you're interested in building a board for Adeptus Titanicus, I've put some thoughts together on Death of a Rubricist, so you can avoid some common pitfalls :smile.:

I don't know if you mentioned this, but modular terrain will be the way to go with Adeptus Titanicus.  Narrative games will be a huge aspect and being able to rearrange buildings, drop in special objectives, etc. will be a boon.  I've seen some wargamers lock themselves in with fixed diorama-style boards and regret the lack of flexibility.

Sandlemad posted these, which I think would work very well for Pelasts.  I'll keep my eye out for 6-10mm Hoplite analogs.

I've gone for a set of these Scourge Warriors from Dropzone Commander for basing and yeah, maybe guarding the gantry. Decent little models. £12 for 30 should be more than enough for a maniple.

They're 10mm and are close enough to work as some variant of tech-thrall or skitarii/secutarii, particularly given the variation in the forces of the mechanicum before and during the heresy. I figure that with their coats done up in Incaldion yellow and bright blue eye lenses they ought to 'pop' nicely, as well as give a sense of scale.

The reinforcement of 4 extra warlords seems to have been lost in the warp so after the refund I'll be stuck with two warlords each and no maniples. Depending on how much is a 3d printed reaver I might upgrade to the myrmidon maniple.

Well I've a Warlord and part way building 3 Kytan Knights so for me two Reaver titans and a crapton of Warhounds is the plan but I do need to check the rules before it gets out of hand.

Hoping for some close combat Warhound variants as the dream wish.

Guys, something to add from Warhammer Fest, the Beta Garmon campaign book will be out in a few months and will have a very detailed campaign setting as well as a great amount of fluff and artwork, as per Andy Hoare.

It will cover 6 legions, 3 on each side. Sounded very cool. Sounds like it will be called Titandeath. Not a Black Book but Imperial Armour style.

Wait, what is this Beta Garmon book? It’s a campaign for AT?

In short: yes.
