Discussion on the new C:SM & Possible BT supplement

Recommended Posts

I am pretty excited as well.

Rhinos went to 65pts and tactical marines went down to 12 points. I hope that crusaders will be have as tacticals in this and drop in points as well. Thats almost a squad of eliminators for free added to my army.

I hope gw does if + successors and then the Rest for next week and the week after and halves the model Releases for those two weeks. That would see them done with marines by September, so they can do Sigmar again and then come back to 40k with Part one of the psychic thing, go back to sigma and then sisters and psychic awakening Part II Warp Boogaloo for Christmas. Also would leave the Rest of the year for me to paint more templars and maybe some Necromunda or 30k

I suppose more supplements are coming.

While we are all buying CSM, I dont think we are getting the Ultras and white scars stuff at the moment.

I suppose GW is aware that SM players are tribal on their chapter of choice and will drop the supplements in quick succession with the associated extras.

By the gods I just need a char and a sprue.

Between the Chaplains, our better CT and the buffed Drop Pods we're back in business.

In the words of the great champion of mankind Randy "Macho Man" Savage  OOOH YEAAAAAAH!

Now I could certainly see one or two drop pods with Heavy/Special/Combi-Weapon just dropping down to give some fire support to some Intercessors or even just gear them for close combat and just try to tie things down on the first turn, they got 3A each now!

Such a great update, I believe I saw rumors of a stratagem for Terminators so they can get +1 to hit in a phase, if true then that would be amazing for a 10 man Terminator squad just dropping down on Turn 2 and with the Tactical doctrine they would get -1AP to their 40 shots and then all hitting on 2s! Hell drop  a Chaplain on turn 1 and you can give them +1 to wound or extra charge range!

ARRGH! SO MANY TACTICS, SO MANY COMBOS! ITS SO GOOD!.

So, Sternguard Ranged Sword Brethren went down to 14 points a pop. With a Chaplain giving them the +1 to wound litany and their own +1 to wound stratagem they can put out bolter rounds with -2 AP (-3 in the Tactical Doctrine) that wounds T4 on a 2+ (or T8 on 4+ for some fun and giggles) while still having 3 attacks in CC due to being Veterans.

On second thought, Chaplains with +2" charge distance are a lot less useful than I thought since you can't have it active the same turn you Deep Strike the Chaplain.

Nor can you use it when you are in a vehicle, so no +2 for charging out of a LRC

Just drop him in with a drop pod on turn 1, give him a shooty escort like Devastators or Sternguard and then you can use his buffs for your second wave of deep strikers or whatever is in range. Honestly its not as useless or limited as most people think.

Give him a jump pack, or bring him down in a drop pod turn 2, no stress.

And this is also a (fair) assumption based on Chais rules. Not confirmed yet

It is confirmed, at the start of the battle round.

Oh well, drop pod turn one it is!

Also, I may be in the minority here. I was initially pumped for our characters to be primarisized, but if they do they will no longer fit in a LRC or drop pod.....

My guess is that Grimaldus will be the one first across the Rubricon... especially with these new litanies around the corner.

EC is also iconic...

I actually think the Emperor's Champion is the only character that makes sense to be primaris. Since every crusade has a chosen one before a battle, what if that crusade's chosen one is Primaris? I'd like to see the rest of our characters unchanged and simply an overall return to a more fluffy and accurate set of rules that reflect the templar glorification of close combat.
