I was actually thinking of going back and doing some water downed green ink over everything already painted. I'll keep that in mind when I actually am trying for a marble base. This was mainly a large surface to try out the technique. Raziel-TX Posted January 31, 2022 Author Share Posted January 31, 2022 Jumped on the black and white photo bandwagon to provide a teaser on my tank destroyer and a couple of supporting Marines that will end up in a diorama. Still have some work to wrap on the TD and the Marines so final, colored pics for the models (diorama base will be a longer term project as I'm looking to be moving here this spring/summer) will be coming in the near future. First up is a rough, early WIP pic of plastic card use to add some armor on the tracks as well as get rid of that terrible shot trap on the front hull. Next up are couple shots of the tarps that will hopefully help blend this green TD into the local background. Last up are a couple of Marines supporting the TD. I'm sure the opinions on the use of robes as camo smocks will vary greatly but I wanted to try something a bit different. Please feel free to share you thoughts and opinions. Below are some more black and whites of the sicaran. Another first was the use of weathering pencils (AK interactive to be exact). Despite my rudimentary knowledge on weathering and weathering pencils I think I was able to pull some decent muck, grime, and dusting on the TD. I really like the pencils-relatively cheap, easy to use, and pretty good at providing weathering effects. Lastly, I rolled out some greenstuff and made some shell casings for the mounted MG on top; I think it came out pretty well. Colored pics to follow once the TD is complete-I'm still playing around with some final touches.
