I like his rules, killy against the right Units, but not an auto include. Seeking a Saga will come in Handy. He is still squishy, but thats the same as before.

While I get why People miss the Wolves, I rather be able to throw him in an Transport with regular Units. Space in those is limited.

You can only toss him in an Impulsor though...

I don't think he will see much of a point increase from the 100 he is at now. Hoping we get a preview today but expecting to have to wait till Thursday or Friday Edited by Jorin Helm-splitter

That 6 inch consolidate is big with Multi charge clear the screen and double fight murderfang with his inbuilt reroll or Wulfen.

I make it 3 ways to fight twice

Honour the Chapter strat (dreads excluded?)

Only in Death character strat

Wulfen death frenzy

Doctrine is behind and our fluff is going the wrong direction.

We now eat the dead for CP...

It's better than the nid one (if genestealer/lictor/broodlord kills a character... spend 1 cp to gain d3...).  every time i've used that... i get 1 cp - netting 0

Say hello to rune priest berserkers

Fury of wolf spirits and CP for exploding hits on 4+

*edit for those who dont know

10 base attacks on charge exploding on 4s is approximately 15 attacks from a single model

Fight twice is also an option after

Super Doctrine is very meh compared to all other ones. Like why even bother?

I could see if they let us do it on hit rolls of 6 so our tactic can add to it.

I'm hoping the strategems and traits allow us to get some good buffs from this book.

So far not super impressed.

So far its all nice, but what seems like was good before will be better though with this and not much else elevated. I still have concerns re: melee focussed litanies and transports/deployment so I guess we'll see.

Crossing my fingers for some sleepers in there. I had really hoped for a Tempestus uplift.

Yeah, that does seem seriously unimpressive. It is interesting to compare to it to Blood Angels who get a flat +1A.

Consider a 5-man unit of Intercessors which will get on average 10 hits on the charge for Marines with no super-Doctrine. Blood Angels would get 13.3 hits. Wolves would get 12.5 hits.

Now this straight comparison is a bit misleading as the BA bonus is a flat bonus. The SW bonus however scales with the number of attacks. The more dice you roll, the bigger the bonus. This means is slightly better than the BA super-doctrine for models with 3A on their profile and gets progressively better as the number of attacks increases. Ragnar for example gets far more benefit from exploding 6s than he would from a single extra attack.

To get mileage from this super-doctrine, you will need to get high-attack units and stack them with bonuses like the Wulfen Stone.

I'm pretty sure that Orks got the Lion's share in this book for good updates. We will have to see how the book looks in two weeks.

I'm certainty hopeful there are hidden gems or things they didn't preview as far as some extra rules but I doubt at this point sadly.

IMO we got another unnecessary delay for no real payoff like with the Codex.
