Sky Hunters will be back in stock in the U.S. as soon as those of us who clicked on the e-mail list get a crack at them.

Speaking of which, anyone have any suggestions regarding scimitar jetbike characters and command squads? I'm debating whether to use mine as basic squads or to try and build a command squad and praetor, and I'd welcome suggestions as to what can be done with the kit.

It's straightforward enough to do. I'm making a command squad by putting mk3 IH torsos on the mk6 legs

With the prime colours applied the whole squad comes together nicely and are ready for painting:

I guess it is obvious which one is the sergeant?

Because of all their cool tactical equipment going on it is hard to see but they do wear carapace armour which fits nicely for legion scouts. I choose Orlock heads because they all have these cool glasses which looks like those which dirtybikers wear to protect themselves of dust in the air. Since they'll get desert bases and a lot of pigments to make them dusty and dirty I thought it would be rather fitting. Plus they have all beards which makes them look older and more worn dorwn by long term missions behind the back lines of the enemy without making them look like savages.

So "Old" torsos are compatible with the kit? I was thinking of using a box or two of black knights to give them a more elite look and get the bits for a standard bearer.

No you need to cut the torso off the legs and then trim it to fit the old torsos

Mostly, the legs in the jetbike kit are separate from the torso thankfully. You need to trim the rim of the legs down a bit to get a good fit, and there are some gaps I intend to fill. However once the model is assembled this isn't all that noticeable.

I know after is a different angle so it doesn't show the distance all that well but it is hard to spot gaps once it's all put together.

I imagine this as him stopping in the heat of battle to tap away at a wrist-controlled pict unit, so that his brothers may admire it later.

Adding some mud to my recon bases.

One of the best addition to the technical range GW has ever made in the last years.

So easy and so good.

And I am really happy that my scouts fit perfectly to the size of MK4 resin Marines

The whole army will be made of MK4 resin Marines and I didn't measured it beforehand so quit cool that it fits so nicely.

I'm working on some Indomitus Terminators with the idea that they are Inductii being trained to use the newer cheaper terminator armour. The leader is going to be a Terran vet using a hybrid Tartarus armour. Still WIP and shaving stuff off but getting there. I've stuck to one body because I like the idea of the indoctrinated training and with the exception the odd head or arm tweak gives them a very disciplined and regimented feel. Thinking Imperial Fists for these guys.

Beginning a repaint of my Solar Auxilia force, taking the Reborn Cohort concept rather seriously!

I decided to go with a camo-style paint scheme (specifically a brownish-white camo, like some kind of brown desert).

Would seeing camo on Solar Auxilia disappoint people? And should the armor of the infantry bear camo (presumably like mini-tanks) or just be metal with camo soft parts? Or different entirely?

That new armor does look fine and the disciplined horde look is great.

Luckily I have lots of cataphractii and Tartarus. I'm leaning towards the cataphractii at the moment.

yeah Cataphractii combi bolters with their dual drum mags look more archaic imo and just look better.

I had a similar idea, but using the previous models and adding bits from Cataphractii to the sargent.

Having discovered some hidden away Scion models I decided to put some spare Navy Beacher heads to use for a couple of test models for my Militia/Army grenadiers (warrior elite & armoury of old night/legacy of the great crusade [undecided which of the latter would be more suitable]). They are a bit of work, having to trim down the heads and expand the visor a tad and remove a lot of the 'gothic' trim on the scion torsos but overall I quite like them.
