Started work on my Night Lords. Haven't touched the plastics yet beyond starting the Praetor (whose waiting on some corpse cart bits as well as a skull for the belt buckle).

I'll have to keep an eye out for Kroot and Dark Eldar bits as I go since those sound fantastic, but for now I've got some hobby chain, and I'll be using Corpse Carts for some of my conversions (or that's the plan at least).

Hello guys. New to HH.  So I'm going to be attempting Alpha Legion. I looked at and tried Duncan's quick contrast method:

and it looks like crap.  So I'm going to be returning to my tried and true method of spray primer = base coat.

So I'm currently evaluating 6 Tamiya spray primer colors.   See the attachment, and let me know which one you think would work best for Alpha legion 'base coat'.

They are a little bit taller, a blob of greenstuff under the feet and in the torso joint for both the MkIII and MKIV make them damn as near it (quantity of greenstuff permitting) on par in regards to size.

When I get a moment in the morning I'll grab a photo of them.

Kizzdougs used Light metalic blue, and his models are ace

Ya, I fully endorse the "steal kizzdougs' recipe" method lol.

@Fulkes I totally forgot about the corpse cart! Though, I'd personally need to be better with the saw to get good value out of it.

I'm planning on using the corpse piles on my tanks, though it'll take some doing to figure out how I want to approach that. I might just build the baskets of bodies and give Rhinos one each and the Spartan 2. Not entirely sure how I want to sort Predators or the Kratos yet.

And speaking of the Corpse Carts, got some work in today with some bits

Haven't decided what to try tackling yet. Still trying to work out what I want to equip models with since there are a lot of fun options, but I think I've got my Praetor quota filled for a while so if I pick up any more of those models (namely the plastic Praetors, or another Terminator Praetor to convert into a Chaos Lord for 40k) I think I'll be doing something else with them. Saw someone used the sword one to make a standard bearer which is cool. Don't know what I'd use the other one for though.

Quick shot this morning of scales, I don't have any fully built Mark IV so I just put the torso/legs of it there in place.

The greenstuff Mark II is leaning forward a bit but without that is near the same height as the Mark VI

A friendly reminder not to spray varnish in high humidity, woke up this morning to some kelloggs frosted World Eaters

If you ever need a reason to own an airbrush this is it. Being able to varnish models in the safety of my home has been a great boon. Granted you do need a spray box accessory!

@Gore Crow - those look amazing. Think the red bases really set them off, I like the wethering job you have done on the tank too really helps break up the black.

@Dont-be-haten - thanks I do actually have the means to airbrush but was being lazy! Fortunately they were World Eaters and not Raven Guard or something as the white frosting is kind of hidden.

On that note I have finished some Great Crusade-era Valkyrie for the World Eaters. They are the Aeronautica Imperialis kit which I have to say are excellent, they are possibly a bit big for classic Epic but just about in scale for modern Epic proxies/8mm 3D printing. These will be used for an airport terrain piece Im building (I am doing some Ork Bombas as well, with some terrain from each faction you can swap in and out depending on who is controlling the objective)

for 2.0 I’ve decided to work on Ravenguard. So far I’ve got 20 tacticals painted up. I’m planning two or three of these squads - maybe just two now that the PDFs have appeared and presented some other fun options. a squad of Deliverers sounds like a plan, especially now I find myself with 30 Cataphracti!

Having built 20 guys straight out of the box I’m looking at some conversions for other roles in my army. First up is a shotgun-armed member or a recon squad. He’s got a deathwatch shotgun, which turns out to be massive. Hands are a bit big too so I might do a bit of surgery to give him hands from a bolter instead.

I think I’ll have a squad of five of these guys and also five with sniper rifles. That’ll allow me to use the recon company rite of war, so long as my deliverers deep strike in.

im also working on an apothecary for the tactical squad. I’m using bits from the GK terminator squad that I had lying around. arms are a bit tricky but I’m making good progress on those. I’ve got a bunch of BT neophyte chainswords so this guy will have one. The rest will go to Mor Deythan.

Finished off some Ork Bombas. Have to say these were an absolutely awesome little kit, really enjoyed building them. They are now about to be grounded permanently and turned into a terrain display piece..
