Proper quality art for sure.

Seen as they're doing special paints and Szarekh is back I'm throwing in with the Silent King.

The image of models screams start collecting or mid sized marine/cron starter box too.

(Skorpekh lord, destroyers, warriors, dakka walker)

These images are really great. I feel like we're going to see a whole lot of new artwork and lore in the upcoming Codex and I'm almost more excited for that unknown than the models.

I'm also really starting to get the feeling that we're going to see a new transport/terrain feature that deploys strategic reserves from it. I know art doesn't equal lore but this is the second NewCron image with these huge Drop Pod looking things, first looked like them making planet fall, and we've already clearly seen the plastic in the Silent King spoiler pic.

I'm pretty convinced that all other Necron themed terrain is just chopped up bits of the Tomb Citadel, comparing the "totally not a Start Collecting box" pic with the FW site shows a lot of similarities.

Cartwheeling back a moment to the contents of Pariah I for one am very interested in the Necron Tomb World Theatre of War rules. I'm hoping for fun stuff I can port over for games on my Necron themed table.

Yes that art work is welcome indeed, so vast and epic!

I would love to have a Necron version of a drop pod (Portal pod perhaps that can only drop after the end of turn 2 etc) would make a good terrain piece even...Lets cross our fingers and hope it pans out

even though I"m repainting my army to a single scheme I find it hard to resist a new Allied force of the Silent kings legion...Who am I to refuse especially since they went to all the effort to make a new paint for me to use.... and a Gauss glow technical paint too...!?!

 * "Szarek Bronze" anyone ?!…:whistling:

Hopefully good times ahead my fellow shooters of Gauss!

* -simply my guess at one of the new paint names...

Isnt the monolith a necron drop pod? - necrons do it properly

Very true, but a weaponless drop pod (portal) that can take the focus off of the Monolith might be welcome too :tongue.:

Something for those angry Skorpekh's to step out of...closer to the enemy

The article also mentions a rift with some of the more bigger dynasties. Could very well be a civil war.

Only because of the abandonment by the silent king leaving a power vaccum. I've every faith with his return it's comply or die.

Reading today's article the skorpekh Lord and destroyers are 260 points between them.

I was listening to the video posted with today's article regarding the Pariah Nexus (Pariah being a place not a person, which I admit to rolling my eyes a bit at) and it seems that the 9th edition starter will either continue off from the events of PA:9 or extrapolate on them more (likely both?). One thing of specific note is that the new Overlord and Cryptek seem to have names in the story, so we could be seeing a situation like with the Dark Angel Primaris model being both a named and generic character. I'm unsure as to whether that means rules to reflect those two but they have names. Edited by NTaW

That'd be nice and I'm honestly always surprised they don't do that more just to pump sales.  Make a named Sautekh character and only Sautekh players buy it, but make it double as generic and any Necron player will buy it.

It could be a character as similar to Gazghkull and the Tau commander. Where characters can be played in any sub-faction but provide a unique ability to their specific one.

It's also how they felt betrayed by The Silent King's departure, and the knowing of his device that controlled every Necron after the biotransference. Not just filling the power vacuum.

I think that the rift in the Necron legions will certainly play out for a bit in the lore. Necrons have a long history of civil war and there have been quite a few short snippets that this could be the case. Edited by NTaW
Merged posts.

Are there other pictures out there of the Necron in question? Just looking at the cron in the bottom left he looks to have som greyish skin on him. I’ll take a speculative guess and say he’s the new flayed one. Unless of course there’s other photos showing he lacks Edwards scissor hands. In which case come on Pariahs lol.

On another note there seems to be like zero previews out for Pariah. I can’t find Szeras‘s rules anywhere.

This art is from the recent WHC article:

And there won't be any more Pariah previews as it went into pre-order. I assume they decided that a small blurb from spring reveal is enough.

@Sarges Nice. That’s what I get for just skimming without really looking.

From the shambling and disheveled look I’m keeping my guess to new Flayed Ones.

Of course they could be pariahs. Maybe that’s what we’re doing with all those bodies we’re vacuuming up. Or maybe they’re bio transfered humans? Could explain the clothing.

And I should have specified. I didn’t mean GW previews. I meant all the YouTubers who get early access to the codexes and rules books in advance. Usually once the books hit preorder we get all the YouTube videos and the rules and contents get revealed.

No dice this time it seems.

Looks like it's the same as with previous two PAs, nobody received them beforehand due to lockdown :sad.:

They’re pretty good, IMO. 6-12 attacks in melee, ws, 3+, nice and tough, and good weapons! Excellent bodyguards for crypteks, and since they’re key worded to crypteks, then Szeras and Orikan can take them as well. I’m looking forward to converting thralls for my various crypteks.

They add good lethality to Crypteks if they're getting up close and personal.  They add ok survivability if you like to hang back.  For roughly 40ish points (guess based on PL) that's good, unless Crypteks themselves went up a lot in points maybe.  I would probably have preferred them to be less lethal and more survivable, but for what they are they're decent.

I like these guys. Crypteks always seem particularly vulnerable to snipers, especially eliminators, and these guys will make it more difficult.

Points and Cryptek abilities will dictate how important they really will be.

Humor side. Yet another example of a S5 -2 weapon that can shoot 2 shots further then the new warrior gun profile.

Take oriken or szeras and two crypteks. Buy 3 units of thralls and surround oriken or szeras. Now enemy have to kill all 6 thralls before they can target the lead crypteks. Fun hehe.

Gee it's like Necrons just got Shield drones...

those guys will be a nice addition to my new cryptek I just painted although they're movement 5...that reins me in a bit on movement with the cloak...
