Just got an email from FP saying the issue with the Heavy Destroyer was back in stock. I put when in my basket but by the time I got to the checkout, it said it was unavailable. Someone obviously wanted a whole squadron of the things.

Just an easy scalp for eBay unfortunately, people earning a living doing this.

The same happened to me - I saw the email come in, got it in my basket but by the time I hit checkout (and remembered my password) it had removed it from the basket as unavailable. Frustrating as this is one of the few hold out things I have earmarked as I will buy and have some justification on with the other half as it has a good discount and isn't a big, big purchase.

That's Inquisitor Draxus, Inquisitor Greyfax was available to the UK subscribers as a special add-on in the later issues, but I don't know if the US will get the option.

Does the US get the Premium Edition? If not, then it probably won't be available.

It wasn't related to the premium subscription, it was an opt-in extra purchase. I suppose the question is; have US subscribers been able to get the Art Book and Novella add-ons earlier in the collection? If so, then the Greyfax one will probably be available too.

I understand that, but if the Premium isn't offered, the opt-in stuff hasn't been either.

US has Premium, but haven't got the art book/novella, so she's probably not going to be there. Dang, wanted to get her cheap.

Bit of threadromancy, but in the UK Hachette have made some of the subscription exclusive stuff available to buy front heir website - including the premium sub sets for Tau and Chaos Marines:

Might be of use to someone!

I've bought many back issues from them, and only on a couple of occasions I've had an issue (once they sent the wrong issue, another time they were out of stock but I got a full refund).

I know there were lots of complaints of problems prior to a warehouse move in 2020, but I believe I've seen fewer reported problems since then.

The fact I got the full refund that time they couldn't fulfil an order gives me a good degree of confidence, but it's up to individuals whether they choose to order direct from Hachette or not

Yeah I must say I've never had problems with direct orders from Hachette on the couple of times I've used them, although I also had no problems during Conquest which a lot of other people said was a complete disaster for them so maybe I'm just lucky?

Speculative on my part but I don't think we can be far off hearing about the next 40K partwork subscription now, presuming GW intends to keep doing them. They seem to have been successful enough to warrant continuing. There's already a pattern of four collections releasing at regular intervals, with the 40K collections releasing the summer after the latest edition of the game:

  • 40K Conquest -  August 2018
  • AoS Mortal Realms - January 2020
  • 40K Imperium - August 2021
  • AoS Stormbringer - February 2023
  • 40K ??? - August 2024?

@Black Knight had this thread up December 2020, a couple of months ahead of the trial run in March-ish and a full 9 months ahead of the full launch of the collection in August 2021. Presuming this pattern holds, we could probably expect a reveal of the next collection next month for a trial run early in 2024?

Obviously we could expect to see such a collection led by the Space Marine and Tyranid minis from Leviathan, but it will be interesting to see if they continue the newer trend of including other factions to broaden the appeal and show off more of the range. The Imperial side could include Astra Militarum and Custodes this time around, and we could even see some Genestealer Cults to pad out the Tyranid side of things!

I agree, I think it's almost certain that they'll do another 40k Partworks, and as you point out, the previous pattern of releases suggests we'll see it in the 2nd half of next year.

I'll certainly be subbing to this new one, as I did Imperium

Looking forward to a new 40k partworks but I am expecting it to not be as good on the savings/more per mag so who knows how much of it I'll pick up.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see is go up to £9.99 per issue next time around, but given that GW put their prices up in spring, will probably do so again next year and they cut their third party discount rates this year too, it'll probably be just as much of a saving, if not even better than Imperium was.

They are currently doing a DnD magazine that's £8.99 for a general intro into DnD with each issue focusing on a different character building aspect as well as short adventure, a NPC statblock and some dice. So I would say its a safe bet that it will jump up to £9.99, maybe even £10.99?

I feel like they won't go straight from £8.99 to £10.99, not least because ten is a bit of a psychological threshold when it comes to pricing.
