Hi all

Been slowly plugging away on some projects. Not taken much in the way of WIP photos, but I finished these up recently. Until I get some better photos, here is a recently completed Vindicator, Ball Predator and Dreadnought

Love me a boxnaught, great work.

Looks like the Blood Ravens have been at that Predator, mind you... Stole the guns right out of the turret. The audacity.

The AUDACITY INDEED!

I'll beat them at their own game and steal them back before taking proper photos

That chipping is really nicely done - I assume with a sponge? Can you share the technique/type of sponge? I seem to never be able to get a great sponge for this! Rhinox hide?

Thanks Xenith. Yeah the chipping is sponged on using the usual blister pack sponge. Just a piece really roughly ripped up, loaded with paint and mostly removed on tissue before applied to the model. The key with chipping I think is less is more, unless you REALLY want something to look battered. I really went much heavier with it on the the vidicator dozer blade than I did other areas of the tank as it would make sense that the blade would take a lot of impacts and dings. For my colour I used a mix I have been using for a while after sticking mostly to the Space Hulk Masterclass paint guide. Darkest tone on those reds is a mix of 2 parts black, to 1 part dark flesh and 1 part blood red. Then highlight the lower edges with the highlight colour which is 1 part blazing orange to 1 part vermin brown. he bigger chips I use a medium grey rather than silver to represent where paint has been removed all the way to the ceremite.
