WELCOME to my forge this is where i will compile whatever randomocity happens to be inhabiting my desk. Once upon a time many moons ago i finally decided to make that brave step from lurker to Frater, seems like it was only days ago but now i look back in the short time ive been on this site ive accomplished more in my hobby life than in the entire decade ive been working on these wonderful little pastic space men. And this is where i attempt to keep track of it all perhaps eventually i will learn how to do the fancy things some frater do where they put links in this cover page to all of there glorious projects but until then ill just have to try to remember to update this page on a semi regular basis ( note "try" and "remember") Anywho for the next seven months ill be working on my army for the Tale of Twenty Hobbiests. A project im extremely excited about as this will be my first fully painted army!!!! Now i just have to re-learn how to play once its all finished . But im also excited because im exploring a different side of my favorite legion The Salamanders without becoming just another Red Marked Im going to write, build, convert, and paint them to show the legions darker sons those who strayed from the promethean creed for one reason or another. WARNING i never got a grade above a C in English class i make no clames at being a profesional writer in fact i know it needs a lot of work and is now the soul reason i regret not paying more attention in those afformentioned English classes keep that in mind when reading my fluff that its written around a 3rd grade level But if you dont mind my inability to propperly punctuate and my struggles with spelling then carry on as usual or just skip to the pics whatever floats your boat. Hello my fellow plastic and resin crack addicts. I've been trolling the pages here for quite some time. In fact it's where I've gotten a lot of my best ideas, inspiration, and techniques. What with the ETL V going on I've decided it's high time I enter the fray and start contributing to the community that's already given me so much. So on to the good part. This Year for the ETL I'm hoping to bring glory to my beloved SALAMANDERS. For my first vow I wanted to stay on the small side and not bite off more than I can chew. Since having to be an adult five days a week really gets in the way of my modeling. I'm starting with my first veteran tactical squad the only one from my BAC box that will be modeled as such. They will be known as the Helkytes a squad consisting of Istvaan survivors. They're led by a young Veteran Seargeant by the name of Daario Naharis (yes I'm a game of thrones fan as well) who is equipped with a MC power axe and a combi flamer as well as artificer armor wrought by his own hands and a volkite serpenta. Since the squad has been able to re-equip and re-supply the squad is equipped with vexilla, nuncio-vox, and two meltas, and melta bombs and supposing my math is accurate that comes out to 365 pts. Once they are completed they will be joined by the rest of my Istvaan survivors some of whom will be from the iron tenth and some will be sons of deliverance. On their website they say it can take up to twelve days to dispatch but mine took sixteen days... this followed a three day period waiting to ship, followed by a four day period in transit (only one option to select which was Poczta Polska and this cost the same amount as the item in question...) Package arrived in a padded envelope: With the item nestled inside some tapped up bubblewrap: With the items being loose inside a bag: The weapons in question look very neat, although there is some flash to remove from the back of the weapon. There are also two magnet holes in the top (not pictured but can be seen on the website link above). I'd likely use them again, but would rather make a larger order to make the most of the postage.

Greetings denizens of the B+C! Some of you may remember a couple of years back my old "Operation Reclamation" thread, where I took abused and poorly built/painted/damaged Space Marines and proceeded to fix them up with some stripping and a new colour scheme befitting their status as the Emperor's Finest. Each mini I would "reclaim" would be given one of my numerous DIY colour schemes and perhaps a small background on that chapter. Thus far since I started in 2010, I have reclaimed over 20 miniatures, each in a different colour scheme and a small handful being used in my current Sons of Doom or Vanquishers army. So to give you an idea, here's how some of the original victims in need of some TLC looked, from an eBay job lot I won back in late 2009: It might not look too bad, but the white paint what Humbrol enamel, so the shoulder pads were a serious mess and the paint was put on thick for their eye lenses and other spots. These were in fact the least damaged minis from the lot I got, I've since gone on to fix other, even worse looking miniatures from this and another job lot I got for cheap. But here is how some of them look now, guarding a tactically vital "asset" : But that's the past, now onto the present with my newest effort in reclaiming damaged minis and giving them the paint job and love they deserve! This time I'm going seriously old school with something I got from a friend, which he once owned as a wee little 10 year old, it's scary to think this vehicle may very well be older than I am: Yes indeed! It's an old school Land Speeder, armed with a Multi Melta beneath the cockpit and a Heavy Flamer on the turret! I have no idea how this thing is put together as I didn't have any instructions, so once I've stripped it down, trying to build it will be fun! Actually if any old school veterans of the hobby are reading this, can I ask if all the pieces are there or is there anything missing I'll have to kitbash to replace it with? I also have another miniature currently in the stripping tub right now, which is going to become an Apothecary for my Vanquishers' Command Squad eventually: And that's that on this thread for now!
