I'm making good progress on my Fanatic character, currently researching some alternate career paths I could take, but am working on being a cross between a party diplomat, a melee frontliner, and a Flamer wielder.

And a Singer I see.

I rolled a Feral World Scummer. Came from primitive tribes living in area's nearby to the ruins and then forcibly removed by either a Noble Raiding Party or a Munitorium trawl. He then later escaped into the depths of the underworld

So, I'm thinking a Native Guide type persona, mixed with Roadwarrior / Necromunda Ganger theme.

Still a bit of rolling to go.

I would have to veto a native of Orealis, but you can be a native from elsewhere on Norombearg. You would still have some familliarity with local flora and fauna and such, but no specific knowladge of the region of hte planet where the game will be.

Say a mountainous region in the far south of the main continent (so half a world away). The tribes are nomadic animal headers and only come into contact with other humans a few times a year to sell their animals. One year the tribe unknowingly migrated too far into the private lands of a Noble estate and rather than envicting them he sent his household guard to clear the land by force. How does that sound?

@Trokair - Yes that sounds fair.

I will go for the full resurrection I think. Good thing we have a Techpriest along lol. reading through it and making sure I understand it.

Edit: That will take care of his body, skills, and whatnot to start. Still would like to see what I can do to get a Sword that is Berserk Sized. (A gigantic sword basically and I was thinking having mono on it. )

Edit: (Just saw Lathe weapon upgrade which would be great but maybe much even if this is going to be his main besides a laspistol. )

Looks like you guys have this covered

All interest (and possible explosions) aside, think I’ll sideline this for now though.
While things are calming up in RL, we are still a bit shaky all things considered and I think I  should play it safe for a bit before dipping into too many pots again.

You're looking for the Great Weapon, a Primitive Two-Hander, but it works great with Mono.

Or maybe an Eviscerator, if you have Chain proficiency

Naw on the chain piece for now. But yes that is the weapon I am going for with Great Weapon with either Mono or Lathe Upgrade. I am just wondering if I can get it seeing I am willing to give up his rifles/shotguns most ranged weapons to replace the sword with that. (eventually I want it to double as his shield kind of like how Gutz uses his. )

A Great Weapon should be doable. Mono, in this case, I m going to say no to at this time, Great Weapons already have Pen 2. Mono might be something that can be gotten over time during the game.

Lathe is right out, as cool as it is, we are nowhere near the Lathe system and that is a very big upgrade.

As for using the sword as a shield to parry, I am contemplating letting you use a reaction, a strength test and/or a agility test (depending on the nature of the incoming attack) to have the sword lose unwieldy for a moment and you can then immediately carry out a parry test.  Essentially in some situation where I deem in doable you can parry if you can pass one or two check in addition to the weapon skill test.

No worries, keep sane and if you ever change your mind pop in.

Question would Basic Training (SP) include heavy weapons?

Coming up with names at the moment...

Garm Grimgrip
Ishmael Ironarm
Eisen Steelmind

Just a few off the top of my head.

His background so far is that he grew up in a family of Factory Dregs and got drafted into the Hive Militia and was one of the lucky few that didn't get neural programming at first, (as far as he remembers) then moved on to the Imperial Tithe with the rest of his group. His Regiment eventually got massacred on some planet far off from his homeworld. Having lost most of his skills being rebuilt and one of the few survivors he was attached to the Archmagos expedition as one of the escorting regiments.

What skin shows was dark with deep tan but is now pallid with the bionics, his hair is unnaturally blond with what looks like green dye but for him it is natural hair now. His eyes are lenses, giving his appearance as more than human is obvious. Some Techpriest had fun rebuilding him. Etched into the bionics that bulge from his muscles are 'tattoos' of Aquila and the Omnissiah Cog. He is basically branded as a soldier of the Imperium that owes his second life to the Mechanicus Cult. Was roughly 27 before he was rebuilt. 1.9 m tall and roughly 95-100 kg he was very well built even before the additional mass was added.

His former regiment was:
Cogger Hive Guard

The Cogger Hive Guard Mechanized Infantry is the Militarum Regimentum of the Astra Militarum that fights as mechanized infantry alongside Chimera and Chimerax armoured personnel carriers in defense of the strategically-located Imperial Hive World of Cogger and its surrounding star systems. Cogger, located in the Segmentum Ultima, is a planet blighted and poisoned by millennia of heavy industrial output, though it is also a major manufacturing centre of Autocannons.

In addition, Guardsman from Cogger make fine assault troops for fighting in urban and hive city environments as well as heavy industrial zones, chemical sumps, and other such toxic regions. Their equipment and experience with such acrid environments make them invaluable for trudging through all sorts of polluted or otherwise noxious wastelands, from underhives filled with the toxic residue of ancient atomic generators to ruin-filled swamps rife with hallucinogenic flora, quicksand, and near-invisible pockets of lethal gas.

Traits and Skills so far
Hive Worlder: Accustomed to Crowds, Caves of Steel, Hivebound, Wary
edit: Speak Language (Cogger Hiver Dialect)
Guardsmen: Speak Language (Low Gothic), Drive (Ground Vehicle), Melee Weapon Training (Primitive), Pistol Training (Las), Basic Training (Las), Basic Training (SP)
Rebuilt: (500xp) Autosanguine, Prosanguine, Chem Gled, Disturbing Voice, Resistance (Fear, Cold, Toxins)

Starting weapons: Great Weapon [Great Sword] (replaced sword/axe and lasgun?), laspistol w/ 1 charge pack, shotgun and 12 shells?, knife, guard flak armor, uniform, 1 week rations, uplifting primer

Has a Rebreather built in, and has +2 armor for being metal, can't swim or be healed by Medicae skill,

Funds: 70 +1d10(8) =78

Edit: wounds Hive World d5(4) + 8  = 12

Edit: Fate: 3 -1(Rebuilt) = 2

Then what does SP do?

Solid projectile weapons - shotguns, autoguns, hunting rifles.  Split into three talents (pistol, basic, and heavy)

Guardsmen get heavy SP right at the start of rank 2

Edited by A.T.

ah, that makes sense then. with the (or) I figured I was choosing between primitive and SP; For basic I guess SP would make more sense then Primitive as he doesn't do Crossbows or Bows at the moment.

A.T. Besides the rolling of actual stats am I forgetting a place for either starting skills, money, talents or gear?

Edited by TechCaptain

No, you need Heavy Weapon Training (Type) for that as mentioned, and if I read it right it is for only one weapon within a group as well.

The middle name (Ishmael) sounds the most real to me, so that’s my vote.

Background seems fine.

All Good

Good as amended.

Has a Rebreather built in, and has +2 armor for being metal, can't swim or be healed by Medicae skill,

Funds: As per Book, so 70 + 1d10 for  Guardsman

Based on what you have posted I think yo uare good, so roll your stats, (don't forget the Rebuilt moddifer to Fate and Felloship, and its unique S, T and AG)

Also Divination on page 34

Edited by Trokair

Great. So that’s Varn ready to roll.

I have had a look and done a few formatting changes in line with the others sheets for ease of reading (ie stat bonus to left of stat, and but money in the wealth box)

Cash in on page 29. Starting skills will be under your homeworld and career path (p24-27 for the class stuff which also gives gear).

And as mentioned wounds, fate, and divination. And that's just about it.

Ok, sorted out stats, traits/skills/talents, and mostly gear (boo for not having unlimited funds!). Figured out a way to get what I wanted, i.e.-armor on most points, without too many issues that actually makes sense (bought a chain coat to line the Mechanicus robes with). Only thing now is I want to get rid of my starting staff, as it doesn't really fit the character (and I can't really carry it all). So I guess I'll just drop the staff, as my character isn't a melee fighter anyway.
