I believe the implication from our GM to be that they are all deceased, barring some sort of necromancy or other warp shenanigans (fingers crossed!).

Also I am back. Was out this past weekend celebrating a wedding in the family and helping my youngest through an ear infection. Needless to say, sleep was a commodity in short supply.

Does that mean the good doctor is volunteering to go check on the 'patients'? :P

And yikes, that doesn't sound like fun! (The ear infection I mean, though if you're as socially inept in person as I am, a wedding is almost as painful!) Anyway, I hope your littl'un is feeling better now!

This defensive cordon...is it facing towards the lift, or out down the passageway?

Out down the passageway, with the lifts at their backs.

Edit: just remembered, Draak asked Brynjarr to use his auspex too? I think(?) I'm still supposed to be autopiloting his actions, but Tro please correct me if I'm wrong and you're around?

Cheers GM.

Also a good point.

How far away are these...lingering sentinels?

I figure close enough to examine them reasonably well, but far enough back not to be caught out by an ambush, I'm thinking you've stopped the Speeders 10-15m away from the other group?

Tell you what, I'll roll for the Auspex and see if I can give you a bit more info.

Okay I would like to have Vesalius move up to the bisected corpse for a much closer inspection. Can I make another medicae roll to determine cause and time of death beyond the obvious?

Alternatively Vesalius can maybe also make an awareness check of some sort to see if anything about the ring of corpses jumps out at him? Maybe we'll just keep it simple for now.

Sorry bud, he can't - he has a Diagnostor, but he's got no training in Medicae afaik?  Have to have the Skill to help.

I'm sure Doctor  Zhivago  Vesalius, can sort us out :)

Go ahead, still super bussy here, barly mangaging to keep an eye on the OOC thread and haven't read story thread in a while. Also have a exam comming up in a little over three week, so even if I get less bussy I am unlike to have much spare time until after that. Sorry all.

I like how other characters keep referring to Orphiel as a swordsman when his preferred and most prominent arms are a storm bolter and plasma pistol. :biggrin.:

Ah yes, but Orphiel's first weapon is his mind...

After that, it's sword, boot, fist, headbutt, storm bolter, plasma pistol, land speeder.

Not in that exact order, mind you....can never have too many options!

@MR - Ah yes, but going by your recent rolls Orphiel's Mind needs the use of a whetstone. What is the Riddle of Steel?

Hurrah, I can post again! :biggrin.:

@Lysimachus - Nice. Then you give us this:

Orphiel: There are indeed places where weapons fire has hit the heavy bulkheads, blackened las-scoring and tiny impacts caused by solid shot. These marks are all around the standing corpses, but wild, not focused in any particular direction, as though the mortals were surrounded by enemies. Or trying to fire on a single target that moved too quickly to be hit.

All we can think about is

'Stealers...

Draak: What happened here, Orphiel?

Orphiel: Strange, Brother. There was a firefight. They were shooting in all directions.

Draak: They walked into an ambush?

Orphiel: I don't believe they did. I can't find a single track. It just doesn't make sense...

Draak: What about the rest of Lang's men?

Orphiel: There's no sign, sir. They never left here. It's like they just disappeared...

Draak: ... Stick with the primary objective. Let's get to the command deck. [To the others] We move. Five-meter spread. No sound.

@A.T. - Yes indeed. A three dimensional battlefield.

The Predator references! I'd give you a thousand upvotes if possible.
