OK mate, no worries, have fun! :D

I'm going to post the next update now, but (as you might be able to guess when you read it) we'll be heading into Structured Time soonish, so at that point we'll probably need to pause things until everyone is around?

They dare board us?

makes me think that they know less abut the pride then we may have thought and they are trying to get intell.

so how do we want to respond, rush to the engin/power room, or split and send soem there and some to clear the torpeedot, maybe even leave some to guard the bridge and/or naviagator

They wanted us to stand down and surrender for capture.  They want us for interrogation...

(And so the GM doesn't have to TPK us with a flight of Bombers...:HS: :p )

Thankfully, the reports are Lasfire, not boltguns...so far.

Might be worth splitting up to cover more ground, as Tro suggests.

Jam comms so that they don't send back to the fleet 'space marines!!'

@Lysimachus - in my IC post I have split the party so that you can all play whilst I'm away.

That's very good of you, MG. I assume once we get into the actual fight, it will take at least a few days (real time, not game time!) so maybe Draak can come join in once you're back?

As to splitting the rest of the team in two, it's not a bad suggestion and you can do it that way if you want... but there maybe isn't a huge amount of point to it this time round? As there aren't that many invaders and all will have left their torpedo to target the Engineerium. You'll probably need everyone there to deal with them ASAP?

But don't worry about changing your previous posts, presumably everyone is taking the same initial route down from the Command Deck, so I'll work some more info into my next update before you've actually split up?

Oh bugger I just saw your ooc post, Lysimachus. I can make some minor edits to make things fit as appropriate. Per my spoilered message, my intent is to still have Vesalius attempt to sneak ahead of the rest and to help coordinate some sort of pincer attack, joining in himself from hiding one the initial assault was launched.

No, no, that all still works fine, mate! :)

I'll add an update with the new info to keep you all together, then Vesalius can still do his scouting thing after that?

Hey Sobek, good to see you!

No worries, there were a few players who couldn't make it for this Ep!

The Traveller went travelling again, Ithan Redcloak has been reassigned to 'tech' duties and I figured maybe Varn might have asked Radago to join these guys for a bit...

Edit: Doh, link won't work cos the thread is archived. It's supposed to link to a post in my HoH thread showing a pic of the Iron Gods elite Pathfinder unit (counts-as Wolf Scouts at the time)

Hello everyone. I am so sorry I have been absent the last few months. Work and life have been taking all of the energy I have had for awhile.

Just glad you're ok :) (or as much as you can if things are hectic).

@BC, I am expecting Helsreach levels of exhortations :)

Uh well I just rolled, re-rolled (chapter solo-mode ability) and spent fate points to further re-roll Vesalius's silent move and concealment tests, and managed to roll above his healthy target number of 73 five out of the six times (my lowest roll was a 71 out of that set). And Orokos is giving me a database error, so I can't even copy/paste/share my hilariously apalling luck/failure!

I'm just going to pretend it didn't happen for the time being and revisit the issue later.

Okay so following a quick search on the the interweb, it looks like Orokos is borked and has been since at least February.

Edit: Shall I just roll using an analog set or keep what i vaguely remember my rolls being from Orokos? I ask only because it is not uncommon for me to queue up all of my dice rolls on Orokos for a set of actions and then go review them later, particularly when crafting appropriate RP and typing out my full post including bbcode in my running document. However, with the database being down, this is clearly no longer an option and I can't exactly give an accurate picture as to my DoS and DoF tally. As this is a database issue (and likely not also a logic issue with the underlying code), the rolls were most likely legitimate, albeit with comically unlucky seed values. I know this is probably not that big of a deal, as this is a game after all, but I'm happy to honor whatever you guys wish of me. I'll be writing my rolls down immediately in the future, to be sure.

I'm honestly more miffed that I can't even share or review the rolls than I am about failing nearly every every roll in the set.

Out of curiosity, I did a handful (read: not statistically significant sample size) of test rolls, and all save one were above 73. Unsure if I have a bad dice seed tonight or I'm just cursed. More testing will be required, unfortunately. Edited by Necronaut

Lovely post, BC!

Necro, if you rolled that high every time, it certainly sounds to me like something is up with the roller...?

If you want to swap to another program and try again, I'll allow you one more reroll. Of course, if that one is bad too, we'll just have to accept that you're catastrophically unlucky and go from there...

I gave it a stab and the roller seemed to be working fine - I got a string of high results but also a bunch of low ones.

The records database is broken so you can't see old rolls, but the link to rolls does appear to still work. Of course when I tested it I rolled 100...

Okay gents, despite my protestations last night, I was able to find a work-around and recover my abysmal rolls: I had to work backwards, editing the url one character at a time, but I managed to track each of them down.

Posting them up in the IC thread for posterity...

Considering Vesalius *might* be hidden (he succeeded, finally, with 0 DoS), his best bet is to pull a Batman/Talos to attempt to terrify the intruders by scraping his chainsword along bulkheads and the like. Although his rolls were so bad they probably could have heard him coming from one end of the ship to the other. ;)

Unsure at this juncture if he'll be able to exload or even gather any useful information.

Otherwise yes, let's kill the lights and commence with the reaping.

Edited by Necronaut

Yep, switching off the lights should be possible...

As to Vesalius' position, they'll definitely have seen or heard him coming, but maybe with the (just) successful Concealment Test they aren't sure exactly where he has stopped?

Edit: Actually, if you were to include in your fluff a request to the Bridge to cut the power to the lights around the Engineerium before you started your approach, I'd probably consider that a +10 to Silent Move and Concealment Tests, meaning that both your initial rolls were successes (if not amazing ones)?
