So, I was finishing up the bases on my big knights, then Call to Arms happened and postponed that.  Now that call to arms is over, I had the chance to return and get that done.

While I was at it, I thought up some names to give my big knights.

So, first I did a dead body for the base of my abominant:

Then I did the same for the base of my rampager - not sold on my positioning of the bits, and seperating the bolter from the arm might have been a mistake.

Then the lot got names.  This is the first time I've done fancier letters for capitals and I think for the most part they turned out nicely.  For each, I tried to centre the wording on the focus of the model... with mixed results.

First up, my Tyrant "Lessons in Woe" - which I figured fit in with him being potentially nurgle marked (the "Woe" bit) and my more general theme of judgment and seeking perfection (the "Lessons" part).

Next was my Abominant "Sublime Dictate", who is potentially Tzeench marked - the "Sublime" fits with Tzeench (sublimation being the transformation from solid directly into a gas) and "Dictate" being judgmenty.

Then, there is my potentially Khornate "The Hunger" - which doesn't really fit any theme other than the Khorne one, but fits the model well.

Finally, is my Slaaneshi themed "Dulce et Decorum Est" (latin for "It is sweet and proper"), which ticks a number of boxes in that it is a) latin b) austentatious sounding (very Slaanesh) c) from a poem with the phrase "ecstacy of fumbling" which is what made me think of the name in the first place and d) highly ironic, as the poem is about how ugly it is to die from being gassed (which also seems very 40K and Slaaneshi).

Finally, the whole gang together:

Someday, I will give the little knights emblems on their shoulders, but I haven't thought of what yet.

Oh, and the little ones are still unnamed, so if you have any suggestions, please let me know.

Nice work - the group shot looks great

The name tags look fine. Unfortunately, I can't think of anything that would help with the unnamed ones

Been a while since I've gotten anything done, but Call to Arms always helps in that regard.

Does anyone need anything that needs defiling?  Because I have just the unit to do that, now.  For those who want to go and find out how I built this monstrosity, I set that out here.

First, here are all the painted magnetised options - 2 hatches, 2 weapon options for the armed hatch (combi bolter and combi weapon),, 2x lascannon, 2 heavy bolter, reaper autocannon, 2x eye plates and the flail.

Then some pictures of the various options grouped together into "variants"

Flail variant:

Havoc variant - I suspect this is mostly what I will field, with havoc launcher, lascannons and combi-bolter:

Heavy flamer variant:

And some just other assorted pictures:

Thanks!  It was a fun build, even when it felt like it would never end.  As for the modularity, that was really the smallest bit of the project and if I was going to put that much work into it I might as well try to future-proof myself for future editions, even if I'm pretty sure in this one I'll pretty much always be fielding it one way (havoc launcher, las cannons and combi-bolter).

Okay, I've finished (mostly) my traitor guardsmen project that are intended to accompany my defiler - basically, 3 squads of traitor guardsmen plus a couple of characters.  First, the guardsmen - these guys are kitbashes of the krieg killteam, the blooded killteam with the 7 Blackstone Fortress traitor guard and 3 former cadian models: to make up the numbers

Pink squad:

Then the characters - the enforcer:

His ogrynn buddy:

And the rogue psycher:

And here they are all together with my defiler to form my entire Lost and the Damned "combat patrol" .  Its 525 points, though the rogue psycher's legends rules doesn't allow him to attach to traitor guard (only cultists of their various types) meaning it would need to be house ruled to let it work.

Ands finally, here's a picture of them next to one of my chaos marine units (my maulerfiend) showing they should fit in fine even with the different paint scheme:

Painted up my second maulerfiend - sorry for the glare.  This one was converted to have a more dynamic pose to differentiate it from less reposed first model.  You can see how I went about doing that here.

Here it is with the little melta arms instead of the tentacles - as one might guess, they are magnetized.

And both my maulers together.

And all of my demon engines together - I have rather more of them than I would have thought, given that I've never gone out of my way to collect a demon engine force but just picked up the models as I wanted to paint them or when they came bundled with other models I wanted (that's how I got my second mauler and crawler).
