Welp, guess I was wrong. Kill Team is next week's pre-order!

Is this the first time they called this the launch box and not the starter box? Feels like this will sell out right away as separate components will probably be expensive separately

No it was called launch box right from the first moment in the stream and the first whc article…

The books are presumably going to be at least £20 each, plus you've got the peripheral tat. Not exactly encouraging for a newbie unless they really want Veterans/Kommandos.

The cards you can probably do without if you print them onto paper and/or read them out of the rulebook.

The 'Essentials' I'll just give my business to somebody with a laser cutter for 1/3rd the price, although I wouldn't be shocked if the barricades turn out to be essential/free points to push people into buying the set.

Boxset looks good if you want everything, until you realise you've got the Compendium to buy as well- assuming you can beat out the scalpers of course.

May well be that i do that in fact.  The scenery in the set looks great value, but i dont need more scenery and i think the rule book will suffice for playing kt

I'm thinking the same, to be honest - I really want the Orks, so I'll probably just pick them up when the squad box lands, along with the books.  I really like the scenery, but I've already got enough to do a full Sector Mechanicus and Sector Imperialis table, so I don't need it, and don't really have storage space for it ...

I don't think it's a secret the vast majority of people will want the new Krieg models over Kommandos. You'll probably be able to buy them for less than RRP/LFGS discount off Ebay without much trouble.

I'm looking at two boxes. I'd like 20 kommandos for one of each pose/ loadout and same for Krieg. Getting them built and painted within a week could be a challenge though ready for the new academic year.

(Hoping to offload the second lot of scenery, tokens etc for a sensible non scalpy price)

Plus side is if you dont want the teams theyll be easy to sell on especially the Krieg, maybe even terrain too

I have a feeling itll be just as economical to the buy the box than the essentials separate if you sell the Kriegers let alone the orks

Are there really two poses per?

I'd of course love the models; it's more about need & budgeting - while I'm sure one could sell the krieg, orks, and terrain for £80 abouts (£20/£20/£40), I'd actually not want to sell them of course (

Each kommando definitely has two heads. There's also slugga choppa each. All the special equipment dudes have slugga choppa.

I believe Krieg are the same.

Does anyone know if the cards available separately are already in the launch box?

So...

1. Nob - 2 heads, power claw/ big choppa

2. Breacha ram/ slugga choppa

3. Kustom shoota/ slugga+ choppa

4. Burna/ slugga choppa

5. Shokk pistol/ slugga choppa

6. Knifey ork

7. Scoped big shoota

8. Rokkit launcher

For each of those they have an alternative loadout of slugga + choppa + different head.

That leaves two "regulars" that have alt heads, unsure on armaments.

My current plan is one group of 10 with all the variant operatives, the other group of 10 mainly with gas masks and slugga/ choppa

To be honest, that surprises me a little, but there again, I like Orks, and my personal tastes say they're the better models (others may disagree :smile.:). :tongue.: Hopefully you're right, because I really want 2 boxes of the Orks :biggrin.:

I don't currently have any 40k scenery, I really want those Orks, and Ork-themed scenery seems like a perfect thing to put on my hypothetical table, so I'll be taking part in the launch box gacha. If I don't succeed, I'll pick up the relevant contents separately later. Either way I really like everything I've seen re: the new rules, especially since "redo KT to be a bespoke skirmish game like Warcry" is a drum I've been banging since Warcry released. I still don't understand GW's aversion to making actual starter sets for specialist games, though.

It's £125, compendium is £30, dice etc are £20 a time, tac ops cards are £12

Indomitus priced for everyone as expected. Compendium is regular codex price

What would you say the terrain is worth at separate box prices? Trying to work out how my mate are I are going to split the cost of 2 boxes (I'm taking all the terrain and Orks).

considering how up-priced GWs terrain is, i would say about 80-100€
