We have a Crusadersquad which gonna be very different to other troop choices in comparison to other Marines and 3!!! Awesome as it is, the age of the old model means there's some trouble with symmetry on the helmet and such, so it will be nice to have this as well. And the new servitors just blow the old ones out of the water. Also, GW must know of Grimaldus' popularity from helsreach, even Helbrecht didn't get his own trailer! Fluff-wise it's entirely possible that artificers just reworked his old armor to account for the added bulk (I do believe Primaris being bigger than firstborn is still a thing in the fluff, even with all the retconning they've done?). Marines do like their relics, after all. Marines do like their relics, after all. No its clearly MkX. You have the backpack already. You can also tell from the greaves its MkX. It has a bit of a knee pad rim, the telltale boot design. Let's not pretend its something else. And we already know from helbrecht, MkX artificer armor is a thing. Marshal Reinhard Posted September 27, 2021 Share Posted September 27, 2021 Noticed that both Grimaldus, Helbrecht, the new unnamed marshal, all have what Jes Goodwin calls "Crusade armor". I don't think it has this distinction is in the lore itself, but it exists visually on the models. Crusade armor is pretty much the same as tacticus armor, but it has a few difference, that being the crusade style extra armor on the helmet, a more prounounced gorget, and these little knee flap things. There's rounded joint on the outside on the knee, and this little "wing" of plating. Its supposed to be extra protection for the back of the knee. And you can see this addition on grimaldus, helbrecht has it, the generic marshal has it. Who else has it? The bladeguard models. Who really look like they belong to Templars over any other chapter. I'm just convinced Jes Goodwin designed those exclusively for us originally, but then a GW execs decided they wanted it to be a unit for everyone.
