After a few years hiatus and in the process of helping my folks move iv recovered my old minis many of which I never finished. Thinking out of all the factions that my iron warriors are the most likely to be finishable (just doing army nor caring much about codexs or such as I don't game anymore more doing a few cool minis and such. Anyway as my old photobucket is locked down apparently will attempt to add a few pics of what was my counts as deamon Prince dreadnought which was likely the last thing I got for these guys...

now im looking at the dreadknight im hating the blue on it even if originally it was to explain the mark of tzench. anything to get that inv save boost lol. is definitely on my list of things i want to revisit

Thats one of the better conversions I have seen using the dreadknight, nice work.

cheers guys. iirc  it was a bit of a vision i had that had to be done. of course ironwarriors would go out of their way to cannibilise and rewire and corrupt a fallen dreadknight, be it rewiring or whatever it took. most of my iron warrior conversions were more that than fleshy conversions. even my oblists were coupled together and such too. will be more pics of more aconversions and such when i can dig them out til i can get time to jump back onto the painting bandwagon. even had a load of cultists to do(did lots of head and weapon swaps and such so as to break them up) 

also since i last did moddels iv since got a dremmel and lots more tooks to play with. i also makefull sized sheilds so may end up doinga full sized chaos themed one for giggles...

thanks. ive somehow lost his arms in moving him around the house buyt ocouldnt find one of his original ones anyway. have to say ive been looking at him and im fairly happy with how this technique has turned out. think itll really change them from looking too clean to more warp surviving traitors making do. adds detail to the too big flat metal plates. will get a few more pics of how it turned out on the other test subjects then hopefully get a wee bit of time at some later in the week to do some

 

also will have another look at basing on some of them as its too much life in that grass for my liking... may burn it...

update on the chaos termy champ now with rust. quite like the level iv managed on this of rust and extra details though id probably like the flesh a bit paler but will look at that again when im sorting out his shoulderpad that i intend to freehand the iron warrior symbol on

Superb weathering! How did you achieve the weathering effect on the cloak?

Cheers. tbh i cant tel you exactly as that was years ago and various cloaks were done differently but iv always made my own washes and such before gw sold them. think by the time i did these guys i was using gw ones too. i likely undercoated black then used something like snakebite leather, couple thin watered slightly coats then washed and highlight with drybrushed  in alternating layers. if you like thi guy youll love the lord wherever ive put him, his looks like skin. think hes stull in the roofspace with his pet turkey bot...

cant find my warsmith lord but found a few things in progress of searching so may as well share

old school vindicator currentoly in possession of my stormangels, think it wuld be much more fitting getting repossessed by iron warriors... eli pictured as my barry for scale, need to figue who to use for my iron warriors barry...

also found a few of my other iron warrior future projects that got nowhere but to force my self with tie in  plans and such... the iron turkey...

and a very very early lots of work to go deamon prince

and what i was thinking to convert to a hell drake or some form of flying vehicle

 and as i couldnbt find my warsmith but my cape on my termy sorceror is similar...

dread now got his arm. not sure where his original other arm is or what to put on. think i should have a plas cannon or tl las somewhere...

An olde Vindicator! Yes that would be great repurposed for your IW :tu: I'm a big fan of Predators so it's nice to see yours coming along. I like the Furioso arm for the Dread I think it fits very well :)

 

As for your grand rusting project it's coming along fantastically! Really darkens the models and makes them suitably grubby and... well, Iron Warriors-y?

yup i only got the old bugger a few months before the current models came out, i love the new ones and the old dosent really fit my angels asthetic beside the new rhino chassis. so definately think itll fit far better course will have to add a few details beofre i paint to make it fit better...

essentiallly... im using a sponge to put on a paint medium that dries clear and am using a salt shaker to dust it on  and then using a spray bottle of vinegar cleaner to spray the whole model so it runs and stuff too. may end up having to vernish or such it at some point if i ever end up having to move minis but as iv currently no intention of gaming or moving them i should not have that issue unless something changes. but yeah happy with the experaments, eyeing up the dreadknight next... rusty time is a comming

update on predator. not sure how i feel about it, have i gone too hard on the rust? may rub back some rust and drybrush the edges / highlight but think ill do my hazard stripes and such first... thoughts anyone?

I like the level of rust. But I like heavy weathering on tanks because in the Army our Deuce and a Halfs and Humvees always got very dirty.

been a while since i tried hazard stripes so not very good, need to dig out my better brushes but definitely looking much more ironwarriorsey now
