Everything (everywhere) all at once

BL style

Compared to that masterfully movie, this is going to be a disaster.

Why not at least divide LE and hardback, etc. with a week between them?

Won't help it though but still...would at least be a glimmer of hope by showing us that they're honestly consider this topic...

Can anybody shed any light on what website was releasing BL ebooks early?  Someone on here got a DoF book pre-release through them I believe and one or two others?

I’m desperate to read EoE asap, hopefully this may be an avenue to do so?

I’m not sure I get the logic of this? If I miss out on the LE I’d at least like to get the hardback at the same time. The formats should come out together.

Umm... What? For years everyone's been asking to release LE's at the same time as other formats. They do that for once and some one still finds a way to complain? Some people are impossible to satisfy huh?

Anywho, good luck to those that are going for LE or Hardbacks. I'll stick to ebooks as always.

Had good intentions when writing that but failed in the execution.

What I meant is that the rush on the site will be even greater compared to a single LE release.

And it would make it easier to scalp both LE and hardback at the same time in a single purchase. Especially as the hardbacks seem to be more limited now.

Dividing those would mean that the LEs are handled first and then the hardback could be offered a week later/ later the same day, whatever.

@System Sound regarding some guys never being satisfied. Well, I haven't bought either LE nor hardback in years. All I'm seeing is the community being disappointed by the current release strategy and now they're clustering it even further on a single day. Unsure if their site can handle that but who am I to judge, apparently.

Nevermind. Let's see how it will work out on Saturday, eh.

The whole way they do it sucks tbh, I don't think either way is great. 2,500 isnt enough copies at this point. Scalpers end up with a lot of those. People jump in for random books where others are trying to get the set (no judgement to them, it's just irritating there's no way to guarantee a set). Hopefully the hardback being available too will take some pressure off the LE sales, but then as you say the hardbacks have basically been limited edition lately anyway. I dunno what would be best, probably like a week preorder window and then print that many copies. Still limited edition but not ridiculously so. I'm gonna be annoyed if I miss the LE anyway, if the hardback sells out just as quick too i'm gonna be seriously hacked off.

I wish i'd never started the set but getting rid of it would be a hassle too.

All good brother. My apologies if I sounded too rude. Just the amount of salt on this forum towards GW/BL is a bit too much sometimes and it sounds like needless complaining.

But if Hardbacks wouldn't be as limited as an LE these days, im pretty sure it would take some pressure of the amount of people wanting one, probably what GW expects just with out increasing the number of said books...

Side note: If ya'll think is gonna be bad, wait till The Death and the End. I bet its gonna be a bloodbath and a new records for selling out.

George Mann’s Sabbathiel novel is finally happening. It’s titled Awakenings and is coming out in special edition, hardcover, ebook and audio: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2022/08/24/inquisitor-sabbathiel-returns-from-the-dead-in-her-first-black-library-novel/

I thought this book got cancelled due to George Mann being busy with various family and professional responsibilities, but as @DarkChaplain predicted it’s still happening.

As a general aside it’s nice to see BL getting back to a more robust release schedule this year, especially in the past couple of months.

That would have to be the comic series as her only other appearances are the Inferno story set after this one and a cameo in the Raven Guard audio drama series (which is still awaiting a third installment, the second having ended on a cliffhanger).

Thanks for the background - I’m sure I won’t be the only person scratching their head wondering who this character is then!

I actually didn't recognize the name either, even though I've heard the Raven Guard audio dramas, That was a couple of years ago though.

But after the article today, I decided to go down certain avenues to check out the comics written by George Mann and have to say they weren't bad. Even higher on the bolter pr0n scale than most BL Space Marine fiction but it would be a waste of the comics medium if it consisted mainly of dialogue scenes.

I'm out the loop with this character - don't know anything about her!  What stories is the article alluding to where she is attacked by Grey Knights?

Will of Iron #1

Fallen #1

Revelations #1

These 3 books contain all 12 issues of the comic that features her. I'm not familiar with the RG audios although.

Why did WarCom mention these works specifically, is a better question...

Awakenings and Mortarion’s novel are both up for preorder on the 10th for release on the 17th. Here’s a link to Sabbathiel’s page, there’s probably a description there too, but I’m region locked out from seeing it: https://www.fnac.com/livre-numerique/a17321067/George-Mann-Awakenings#omnsearchpos=19

An Astor Sabbathiel Novel

After being thought dead for nearly a hundred years, Sabbathiel returns. Now, facing mistrust wherever she turns, she must prove her worth once more.

READ IT BECAUSE
A powerful Inquisitor returns from the brink of death to a world that she barely recognises, full of people that do not trust her and facing a terrifying future that only she can prevent.

THE STORY
Inquisitor Astor Sabbathiel has a problem: she’s been dead for nearly a hundred years… or so everyone believes.

The last thing she remembers is being shot at point-blank range just as a roiling warp storm engulfed the Calaphrax Cluster. Now, she finds herself awakening on a distant Ecclesiarchy stronghold and indebted to a magos called Metik, who has brought her back from the brink of death.

Shortly after her resurrection, Sabbathiel is called to an audience on the planet Hulth by a high-ranking inquisitor of the Ordo Hereticus, Heldren, who informs her that after being lost for so long, the members of her former conclave no longer trust her. Forced to undertake a mission to prove herself worthy and true, Sabbathiel soon discovers a secret agenda beginning to unfold one that contains a burgeoning threat to the Imperium that only she can avert. Trying to assemble the fragments of the past to make sense of the mysteries of the present, Sabbathiel will need to act fast and decide who to trust quickly, or else risk the fate of the future.

Written by George Mann

Sabbathiel’s release is a surprise….. I remember getting the poster for this in the advent calendar 2 years ago. It was the foil Christmas Day special poster. Can’t say I’m a huge fan of George Mann but I do love another addition to the inquisitions lore.

It’s confirmed. The End and The Death is a 2 part conclusion. Warhammer Community also has the incredibly beautiful cover art and blurb, Neil Roberts really outdid himself I think: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2022/08/31/the-beginning-of-the-end-is-nigh-the-final-siege-of-terra-story-is-revealed/

Well the rumors were true. The 8 books series is now 9 books and 3 novellas (so far...).

Pretty grim blurb.

That cover is gorgeous though. Neil really hit out of the park with this one. Probably my favorite Siege or Heresy cover.

Also, condolences to those that collect Limited Editions. You have 2 more to go now.

Fantastic. Double the stress of trying to get them. I'm happy to read more Abnett, but I'm not happy aside from that. An extra £50, an extra morning of fighting to get hold of one without paying a scalper £200+. An extra chance to miss one and make the collection pointless.
