Alright, recruitment for The Damocles Contingency is now closed.

If anyone else chimes in for this, I will consider their character if they have an interesting hook or backstory, but otherwise, our Cell is now Complete.

The campaign won't start officially for somewhere near another 10-14 days but a few IC posts are now in order. Again, I'd like people to consider how they were approached or caught by AT's Lawman 'Falk' except for Beren/Stimms, who has a specific background conflict to resolve. My purpose here is not to encourage silly PvP, but to put in place party dynamics which may play a part later on (for example if someone other than AT takes up the Primus Agent mantle). I'd encourage collaborative posts as far as possible, with your post finishing with your surrender, official handover (if a member of an Imperial Organisation), or capture.

It can be as simple or convoluted as people prefer, but a bit of meat on the bones wouldn't hurt. One way or another, please make sure your backgrounds are in place before you post, so we can all refer to them. Everyone has viewing access to everyone else's sheets. This should be used to bolster any narrative, not as a function of tactical exigency.

Please wait until the IC thread is officially opened for business before posting, but feel free to toss around ideas in here.

Cheers.

Just a quick note that I have changed my mind on additional training/talents.

You will all gain the benefit of Sound Constitution (x1) on Rank up, and this will be applied retroactively, so you all receive +3 Wounds for free.

Try not to lose them all at once, eh?

I better go and spent the last 100XP to get to level 3, extra wounds are welcome, though I have to echo Ikka's concerns.

Just an FYI, the Dark Heresy official Errata V3 is now in the goggle drive you all have access to. It changes nothing, but it's there for reference.

@Trokair So suspicious!

For roleplaying reasons, I think it would be best if the other characters encountered Arbitrator Falk, either surrendering themselves or as Bardas may see it, meeting a fellow traveller by fate?

Just suggestions to break up the interrogations thus far.

My thoughts on that were for Nicios to be reassigned from his duties (undercover pys-hunter as part of a Telepathica ops team) in the Administratum Investigatus. Walking into his supervisor's office, getting upset (as Nicios is quite determined about hunting rogues), and then having Falke come in to retreive him.

Edit- I also have a Delaque Psi-Gheist (snake-charmer guy) that I'll be converting into Nicios. So eventually I'll try to buy a carapace helmet/chestplate to represent his combat psy-armour.

That sounds great.

Of course they aren't! I don't understand this pervasive and enduring notion about GM's!

GM's just want to tell a good story, and have their players enjoy it.

Any GM worth his salt would kill for that...

Any GM worth his salt would kill all of his players' characters for that...

As a Storyteller in Werewolf and Mage, I always saw it thus:

I'm not out to kill the players, they are more than capable of doing that themselves.

I set the scene and I hand them a shovel, they then dig the hole...

I could say "where's the fun in that?" but that might be dangerously close to an admission, which confirmation bias would then force me to hand wave it away as lies, damn lies and statistics.

@GM: Interesting... Are Reynard and Stimms in the same place? Should I step out of the cell and they can meet, or would you rather keep the players separate and I should wait for a bit?

As a Call of Cthulhu and Delta Green player, I can certainly say that GMs don't always try to constantly TPK their players. Which, of course, means that we just have to do it for them.

We once managed to effectively TPK 20 mins into what was supposed to be a two hour session.

I've played exactly one session of Call of Cthulhu, as an alchoholic detective. As fortune would have it he was blind drunk towards the end of the session after an earlier (plot related) screw-up and was left behind to sleep it off, completely missing the TPK of the other players who IIRC decided to wait and watch a sacrificial ritual from the bushes (rather than stop it to kick of the plot of being hunted by the rest of the cult to get their 'chosen one' back for the summoning).

That was definitely a case of giving the players shovels though.

I've noticed as a GM in the Nook, the players bring their own shovels and then see the  (plot??) hole, and charge at it going "Whhheeeeeeeeeeeee!"

Could be my imagination though.

Some excellent posts guys, nice work.

EDIT: So if we could have AT pick up the others and shepherd them to the big red doors, that would be fine. Don't forget that AT said you just need to clue him in on what you're up to, so other players can post about him approaching you, pulling you out of holding, etc. You don't have to wait for him, per se.

The reason for this, is that AT has to end up at those doors as well, so it works better if he ushers the rest of you in.

All you need to do (and can do this if you're doing the long walk) is finish your posts off stood in front of the big red letterbox with whoever is escorting you, with your hands manacled (Necro can disregard the last part, as can anyone already for whom this is established).

Once that is complete, the group will be dealt with as a whole.
