Well the queue system did its job, although I almost had a heart attack when I was given a 35 minute wait time.  That cut down to a reasonable 12-ish minutes in the end and I got everything I was after (and then some - because it was still there I got the LE rules book - which I will justify as a (very) early Christmas gift).

Now it’s time to enter the other queue and wait for the post to deliver my goodies.  I don't expect this one to go as quick.

A few people on the nutters fb group contacted gw customer support and also web chat, who confirmed it.  That’s all I know.  Really hope there is no queue!

Well this sucks, yeah I'm happy that there is no lags during the pre-order, on the other hand sitting for an hour, with a random queue to get nothing, this is sad

I'm not even sure it did stop the scalpers, or would it in the future, well lets hope for the best, because if people gonna miss SoT LE because they got placed last in a queue, I think they would be mad as much as when the website crashed.

Ugh, I hate the queuing system...

To anyone who got the Leviathan LE in Europe: When were you able to even get into the queue?

I started refreshing my browser at the usual "10.53 LE preorder shenanigans about to go down", but had to wait for an hour. Which obviously meant that Leviathan was sold out by then. Others online told me that they'd only had to wait for about 10 minutes. Did they enter the queue at 10.30? Or just dumb luck?

last time the wait before the queue was 45-50 minutes before 10, and then the queue started.

And of course, the scalpers are already selling on Ebay

They usually put it up before they even got their hands on the book.

yeah, f* this queue system. I'm not wasting an hour on a weekend waiting around to see if the book is still available.

I'm painting right now, so it's not like I'm wasting my weekend, but the extra hour of stress, I don't like it :ermm:

Edit : so I just got DoF, everything else is still up, I guess it went better than expected.

Was able to snatch DoF, King of the Spoil and Void King. The limited edition rulebook was already sold out, but eh... as a non-player, I guess I just saved 180 bucks.

I was surprised with the price on the LE rulebook(230 USD), only the book for 9th edition was more expensive(around 200 USD), and LE SM codex in 8th was almost twice the price and it did contain extras(330 USD).

First black library book I’ve bought in months….. the need to complete the dof series was too much to cope with!
Hopefully it’s a better offering than the last instalment. Anything I have read by Marc Collins has been great. Will see if it has what it takes to reignite my interest

I just counted 29 Scalpers in UK and 2 in Au selling Martyr's Tomb CE on Ebay. How wonderful this queue system is as it likely means you will have to wait an hour rather than 3-5 minutes to find out if you are going to get fleeced or not.

Time was about 5:30 est 24/06/2023.

Its my cat's birthday today and im gonna take him for a walk in a nice park.

I cleaned my floor since taking the pic I just thought it was funny.

There is over 100 copies of the Martyrs Tomb SE up on UK eBay now.

Not happy after joining the queue before 10, having a 45 minutes wait to get in missing out due to scalpers.

I must have given me a spot near the back of the queue, to get back in after placing my order would have been a 10 minutes wait at most.

Yep, I've  been able to get limited editions for years by being online and ready for 09:55. Now missed Leviathan LE and 6th Dawn of Fire LE, due to the awful QueueIt random system. Not happy at all.

So not only are scalpers still scalping but now being there right on time gives 0% extra chance of getting a book? This sounds like the old system but worse?

Yep

And I wonder how many bots were flooding the queue.

Just checked again, looks like 172 copies on the UK eBay store now. I would guess not all the copies scalpers got will be up there yet.

Add in rest of the world and with only 2k copies I reckon over 10% of the production run went to scalpers. That seems a lot more than the previous SoT books using the old system.

There were some, but not that kind of percentage

Not sure about the Siege but The Lion: Son of the Forest had over 300 copies end up on Ebay, so the queue isn’t necessarily making it much worse.

I’ve probably just gotten lucky, but after the debacle with recent LE’s I think the queue system works pretty well. Ordered The Martyr’s Tomb LE without a problem after a thirty minute queue. Without it trying to get The Lion and TE&TD were exercises in frustration.

Tbh a 30 minute queue on a Saturday is IMO completely unacceptable, especially when there is no guarantee you will get what you want when you ‘get ‘.

It’s a Saturday morning and I’ve got stuff to do.  Taking five minutes (usually much less) was fine on the old system.  This new system is so inconvenient.

Does anyone have an experience with damaged LEs straight out of the shipper box? I pre-ordered Leviathan LE for local store delivery. Picked it up yesterday and got home to check it out and the spine seems to be broken starting at the extra story and its pulling away from the cover. Is BL good about replacements for limited items? Or will this be a "sorry, send it back and we will shoot out a refund." situation?

For $75 USD I expected more.
