For what it's worth my FLGS confirmed it's direct only.

I wonder what the rationale behind this move? I would think that GW would want the book to be available to all LFGS so that the game can continue to grow.

I'm guessing printworks are also tied up in Leviathan/10th ed production. Seems like all the specialist games are being underproduced atm.

I was somewhat expecting an article during this week to build up the release and talk a little more about the content - you know, "the thing" GW does for every release.

Maybe it's just me, but I got the impression that there was less marketing than usual.

I don't believe GW "doesn't want" to sell stuff, but I can believe this is going to be direct only...

They didn't do preview articles for the various Libers either, beyond the initial announcements anyway. For some reason or another 30k previews don't seem to be on WarCom's priority like... well, just about every other system.

Then again, they previewed rules for the named Tank Commanders and the Meatball Daemon. They only thing we've not seen rules for are Inductii and the two foot characters.

The book has had literally twice as much marketing attention as any other books for a specialist game gets :D That wing of GW marketing has been long run by Johnny Tight lips, thats why i was so surprised the AOD roadmap had any detail at all on it! :P

I mean they still have yet to acknowledge they technically created a whole new army in the Sisters of Silence breaking away from Talons and getting a bunch of new stuff, not a word...

To be fair, we don't generally see much in the way of previews for any of the Specialist Games; and it's well-known that certain teams within Forge World aren't particularly chatty with the wider company. I know at least one person has compared it to "drawing water from stone" in terms of what they actually provide to WarCom.

It's up on the New Zealand site - $115 NZD. So... £37.50 GBP / $60 USD.

I was preparing to clench my cheeks with the page count being higher than Crusade, so that was a pleasant surprise (Direct Only aside).

Inductii will also be getting Legion-specific rules, which is a similarly a nice surprise.

Anyone know if the page amount of missions matches up with 1.0?

It would be a shame if it was just a rehash.

They previewed one of the new core missions a while ago and it's unique. Not that it was a very good mission, but it's different.

Wow there really isn't much going on units wise. 5 decurions, the 2 special characters, the daemon assassin, and inductii. 8 characters.

At least the zone mortalis and mission rules have a chance to offer value.

The lore? The art? The campaign?

I mean why are heresy books - and Imperial Armour before/alongside them - so treasured. Not the rules. It's the narrative that's the reason these books have value, really.

I mean thats one way of looking at it, but its far from the only way. Like, someone on their crew absolutely adores blank space on the page :D
