So after quite a long hiatus, I'm back on the B&C. These days I paint and collect a lot of different Space Marines Chapters, so I figured that the Hall of Honour is probably the best place for me to show what I've been up to recently. To begin with, here's a small selection of some of my painted Space Marine models.

 

Death Eagle Veteran, in the classic Rogue Trader colour scheme.

 

 

Captain of the Golden Halos Chapter.

 

Flesh Eaters Veteran Sergeant.

 

Carcharadons Tactical Marine.

 

Angels Porphyr Intercessor.

 

Red Talons Tactical Marine.

 

Void Scorpion (homebrew Chapter).

 

Howling Griffons Tactical Marine.

 

Brazen Claws Assault Intercessor.

 

Golden Hands Tactical Marine (homebrew Chapter).

 

Blood Drinkers Space Marine (based on Rogue Trader artwork/cover of White Dwarf 137).

I've always loved the Brazen Claw scheme, so that's probably my favorite as well. But I also like the variety of marines/chapters. Nicely done.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome and the kind words  I'll try to update this topic at least on a weekly basis, depending on how much free time I have.  It will mainly be Space Marines of one variety or another, but other 40k related stuff might sneak in from time to time as well.

 

Today's update is a Death Eagles kill team in their contemporary colour scheme.

Cheers mate!  He's a bit of a multi-use miniature, I reckon he could potentially represent a Lieutenant, a Librarian or a Judiciar if necessary

@Spaced Hulk If you don't mind me asking, what paints/colors did you paint the Brazen Claws with? I am starting a squad next and was curious (I'm currently using citadel colour, so it will likely be Mephisto Red / Kantor Blue etc).

No problem mate! The red is indeed Mephiston Red, highlighted with Evil Suns Scarlet and Trollslayer Orange on the sharpest edges, then washed with Army Painter Strong Tone.

 

The blue is Kantor Blue, highlighted with Altdorf Guard Blue and Calgar Blue, then washed all over with Strong Tone, plus Dark Tone in the deepest recesses.

Crimson Fists Lieutenant (based on a Rogue Trader era Captain model) and Intercessor Squad. When the 10th Edition Starter box is released, I'm quite tempted to paint the Marine half up as Crimson Fists (other options I'm currently considering are Blood Angels, Exorcists or Void Tridents).

A whole force of 'retro-informed' Primaris Crimson Fists would look boss.

Thanks mate!  These were actually inspired by Chris Buxey's wonderful LED Crimson Fists army, which I first saw in the 'Battle at the Farm' battle report on your blog. 

 

I still have the original metal Veteran Srg model hidden away somewhere. I really ought to dig him out and get him painted up for a comparison pic at some point .

Really love your work SH!  Great painting and conversion work.  Especially loved seeing both variants of the Death Eagles.  Always preferred the original scheme myself, but your vision of their current heraldry is close to converting me.  The WD cover based BA brings back memories.  Always wondered what the green forearm signified.

Can’t wait to see what you come up with next.

Thanks very much mate!  I actually really like both Death Eagle schemes, but the black and white version is a lot more forgiving to paint!  I think the green arm was probably an alternative way of denoting Company during the Rogue Trader era.

Thanks very much mate! Basically I'm just really indecisive and can't choose a single Chapter, so I just paint any scheme I fancy having a go at. The downside, of course, is that it's going to take a really long time to get a playable army!
