Last Bladeguard done, or at least close to it.

Trying to improve on power weapon effects, it's still a little hit and miss lol

For each Blade Guard I went for a different shield design. This guy has metallic red and granite on his.

I'm a little mad that the 3D printed terminator legs look better on my assault termies than the ones I took the time to do . But don't worry I'll still be doing GS work on models. I just thought I the terminators looked too lanky with what I did.

Also bonus Centurion mod, ala that popular conversion I can't remember the name of... Zabdi?

One off paint job

I'll post pics with the finished version later

On deck MKIII marines,  but I need special weapons for them. TT wish in HH and 40k I guess I should give 2-3 of them plasma and 2-3 flamers. Then have two magnetized to be weapons specialists or squad leader. Eventually I'll paint them. I like the new design actually. Idk about the helmet spikes yet

What exactly are you unsure about?

So like I do a kind of zenithal method for the black and it does add some nice depths to the black, sometimes I need to go back and add highlights. But considering it took maybe 1h to do the squad it's not bad. The red I'm not sure of a great way to do it with zenithal so I just base coat it then drybrushing and edge highlight and do agrax over it an di think it looks decent.

I'm just not sure if I've improved much lol

That's pretty quick to get a squad done in an hour - much faster than I could manage!

With regard to the red, I think it pops quite well - there's some nicely-obvious highlights on the greaves.

The main trick to working with zenithal priming is to use transparent paints (glazes) to make the most of the graduated undercoat - Contrast paints are great for this but there's a knack to using them on flat surfaces.
