Yep, theirs is army-wide. Add in points increases and changes to unit sizes (Guardians max out at 5 now not 10, Wardens at 5 not 6) and they should be coming down a peg or two.

Well, if you eliminate the boogeyman at the top, something HAS to fill that space.  It sure as :cuss: isn't going to be Death Guard and Votaan, even with these changes, so making sure that Thousand Sons don't just become Aeldari 2.0 is worth exploring right away, instead of waiting.

Rubrics only being 10 points more than where Plague Marine started the edition is hardly "Unable to play the army" levels of nerfing, considering literally no rules changes came through on the 1k Sons.  Be glad it was mostly just points, could've gotten the GSC or Knights treatment and got really beat up.

There's now Giant T'au Battlesuits cheaper than my Standard Infantry.

Looking at the Strats and Core Rules:

Artilery cannot fire Overwatch anymore and neither can Knights or Wraithknights (or anything with Titanic)

 

Insane Bravery:

Now only once per game and only before you roll the test

 

Free strats:

Can only target Battle Tactic strats so no more multiple captains giving multiple Overwatchs etc

 

These are very big changes

 

Aeldari points changes:

Wayleaper +35

AoK +30

Dark Reapers +5 per 5

Death Jester +20

Eldrad+10

Farseer +15

Fire Prism + 55

Support Weapons + 40

The Yncarne +80

Wraithguard +15 per 5

Wraithknight +140

 

That's some points increases, blimey!

My DG's 4 princes can take another unit of zombies, and sit at 1975 points with the point changes. Meaning I can field 3 10 man squads or a brick of 20 and 10. (I sure do miss the days of having the ability to just add a couple zombies)

 

Anyways. This isn't going to make their win rates go up for real, but being able to -1/-1 for the DPs seems better than nothing. Alternatively, -1 OC means the 10" movement on everything but poxwalkers will give you better scoring opportunities. Still 0 reason to take plague marines in competitive play though.

Amusingly, due to the points cuts, Chosen now cost more in relation to Legionaries than they used to, but both units are now cheaper.

 

Only a small rise on the Forgefiend is a relief, though the points cuts on a lot of other vehicles make them more tempting.
