Ok, the Plan (as Elvrit sees it) is:

1. Use our superior speed, manoeuvrability and weapons to target 1) their engines and their Navigator's tower (preventing further attempts at escape) and 2) any defensive weapons that might threaten our Thunderhawk (making it safer for a boarding party to enter and investigate the ship)

2. Board them, slaughter any resistance, and pinch anything that looks useful/valuable.

3. Scuttle their ship, and head back to Phastus to continue cracking open the garrison arsenal (assuming the Conveyor hasn't got its holds full of guns and ammo).

Anyone got any better/alternative ideas?

Edit: I was thinking about it, and it's not impossible that the DG ship has taken some stuff from the IW stockpile? If they showed up with the proper authorization (provided by Peturabo/ IW HQ), they could have taken whatever they wanted?

That might even explain why Sgt Chalbyth was so unhelpful, and seemed kinda disgruntled. Someone could have just stripped his garrison of all its gear, without giving him any explanation (so he doesn't know anything about the Heresy or Istvaan) and there was nothing he could do about it...

Forgive my ignorance as a late joiner: is there a ringleader for this group or has it been more of an ad hoc/committee driven sort of thing? Also feel free to respond directly to Hadrian -- he has been in the dark (almost literally) for the past week in-game.

I don't think so, we never did the whole select a Leader bit - probably appropriate considering the setting?

I guess Ekene Sul was kinda in charge, as the ship was Salamanders and therefore his, but that might be Hadrian's place now?

He's also technically an officer rather than a line legionary (although Techmarine is a specialist role, like Ravyx being an Apothecary, rather than a proper command rank, so I'm not sure how that works in the Legions structure?)

Anyway, I think everyone is free to throw ideas out and to agree or disagree with them as each individual sees fit?

Lys sums it up pretty well, Ekene Sul was nominally leader for narrative reasons, but practically we are a group of equals throwing our own ideas out there, hence the discrepancies in plans/ideas, as each character has their own agenda/understanding of the in game situation.

Also Hadad for one is no Leader, he is somewhere in his mid 300s or so and has not even made it to sergeant. He was/is a specialist so that is a promotion over line warrior, and he has experience, but leadership is not going to be him.

Assuming Ravyx is now not with us and has stayed aboard the Tribute, I don't think we have anyone with Demo...

So, a tech entrance may be a better option?

Elvrit has a base target on Tech-Use of 50 (Int40 and T-U+10) but I'm guessing Hadrian can do better? I'm happy to give an Assist if that would help, though?

Yeah Hadrian would be making a demo test at 61, or a Tech-Use test at 41, because I'm a luddite mouth-breather who opted for a power axe and a balefire gun instead of a combi-tool for his signature wargear pieces.

Ok, so Hadrian's Int is 51, then? And he's got Demo and Tech-Use Skills?

So Demo is actually better odds then?

Demo: 51 +10(Difficulty) = 61

Tech-Use: 51 +10(Assist) -10(Difficulty) = 51

(Unless maybe Ashmon also has Tech-Use from the IH table, in which case a second Assist could make the tests even at target 61?)

But at that point it's still equal odds, so I'd say let's just blow our way in!!! :HS:

Worst case scenario he might also be able to tear the hatch off with his servo-arm. Rolls and fluff are in the works.

Edit: I'm now regretting not grabbing a breaching augur instead of a power axe for his second piece of sig. wargear...

No he hasn't got Tech Use. I didn't buy it and I used it as a RP hook.

My vote would be bridge- it can control the comms/engines and if we hit hard/fast enough there won't be any time to for defenses to be set up. Plus, that is where any Death Guard would be if they were on the ship, probably.

Arazakiel, somewhat single minded, would likely still be focussed on the astropath rather than the bridge.

Engines are likely somewhere else (rear aft, presumably) but assuming this ship follows the usual conventions of Imperial ships, the bridge and comms shouldn't be too far from each other - both probably mounted dorsally over the various cargo holds?

So if we aim that way we might be able to catch 2 out of 3 targets?
