So kroot after all when looking at the silhouette... now Im wondering if the roadmap codex order is technically correct, and tau is near end of spring and months away... just not with all the kroot in it anymore ( and that would make sense to not put on the roadmap.)

And that angel silhouette is naturally AoS, but I wonder if that is the MoraiHeg staff we saw in the rumor engines a while ago, thats potentially lots of pointy ears who want to be converted for 40k this preview.

And I was actually planning to just go to bed...

Is the roadmap placement normally when the first releases of an army are released or when everything is out? Because if its the second we could see the Kroot army set first, then the other two codexes with their single models and then the full Tau codex release

This varied previously afaik, this time its likely more the final release of the codex, because dark angels too came in winter not in spring like the roadmap says... however I also wondered about that with dark angels now.

When the codex drops the index goes, meaning that with such a long time between (very) limited boxsets and the eventual codex release, an army is completely ruleless ? Just something Im curious about.

yeah, top of that staff was obviously something for Daughters of Khaine from the rumour engine, seeing it with the wings it's gotta be some new gorgon-esque HQ for them

Mandrakes actually got even better   but clearly this kill team season was unintended/unexpected for GW.

edit : And while we cant really talk about it.... the new elves are going to be my ynnari/corasir harlequins !

those new Kroot look amazing.

The Madrakes are also cool.

Edit: Presumably with a full refresh then new kroot hounds are on the way.  But it seems like we are going to get entirely new Kroot units as well if the rumoured number of units is correct.  Maybe flying kroot?  Or a Kroot Psyker?

With another 5? Kroot kits on the way and the rumoured Vespid Kill Team, looks like T'au Auxiliaries are eating good.

That said, the last 2 T'au Models we've gotten were the Darkstrider refresh and Farsight refresh, neither of which were a "new unit".

It's genuinely been a while since T'au got any fully new T'au models

And before we had Shadowsun.

The only "new" kit since the 6th was the kroot kill team that is...not so fine rulewise.

Yeah but Kroot are good.

I know, but "Curse of Tzaangors" refers to "A significant amount of units featured in your codex aren't actually what your Faction is."

So Tzaangors for TSons, Mortals of Chaos for Chaos Space Marines and now Kroot for T'au.

It's just a bit less egregious for T'au since they're the 40k version of the Covenant.

Ghostkeel and Stormsurge where definitely past warhammer end times, so late 7th. I think others too. ( but ghostkeel was one of the first news I saw when I was slowly moving back to GW ;) wich was caused by the end times things going on and the change to miniature design it had.)

Ghostkeel and Stormsurge were 7th, yes.

Resculpt Darkstrider and Resculpt Shadowsun were 8th

Resculpt Farsight was 9th (replacing the 6th Ed Farsight model)
