Dark Angels next week

Bit the bullet and bought the DWA box - my other half was pretty understanding given this is the army I have been collecting for 25-30 years.

 

May have to hand it over to them for a bit then get it for my birthday 2 months but that works for me

Well done GW on keeping it instock longer than 5 minutes.  Despite having no interest in Space Marines myself I have a mate who wanted a box but was in work yesterday.  I said if I got a chance I'd get her one.  In the end I couldn't log on until 2 in the afternoon so thought I'd have to let her down.  It was a pleasant suprise after a 30 second qué to be able to order one with no complications. 

 

The site is an appalling mess but that was the best pre order experience I've had in a while.

There is an old saying here in the southern US that says you get more from sugar than you do from, uh….feces.  Paraphrased.

 

I figured since I sent a blistering email about the fiasco with E&DIII I should probably say thanks for doing something.  Anything.  So I did.  It wasn’t perfect by a long shot but it was definitely better than the dumpster fire that was.

For those in the UK, I found this place with two in stock at 10% off. There's only 1 left since I found it though - it's a little pricier than I'd normally be willing to pay but beggars can't be choosey!

Hello!

 

Well - after having given up on 40k during the first half of 8th ed - and entirely skipped 9th - the return of the Lion, and the Deathwing Assault box, has rekindled the flame and made me pick up the Caliban Green paint again, and am now chugging away at the Dark Imperium boxed set...while anticipating the arrival of the Deathwing Assault, that I ordered at the FLGS.  

Really liking the new Belial sculpt, which is amazing! 

 

As for the rules being lacklustre...I only play narrative and will never, ever enter a tournament or league play. Ever. Probably I am safe enough :-)

Hah, that's one of the new local flgs near me, seems that they've started selling a lot more warhammer stuff now, even poached one of the GW store managers

If anybody missed out on Deathwing Assault and is still looking for one in the UK, Hobby Workshop is showing availability (no idea how many) for £20 off - £115.

 

I presume this is stock from cancelled orders as they sold out on pre-order day at about 10:10am!

Oh thank god it's not just me :/

 

GW shipping really has gotten so much worse. Particularly with any order that involves a book it seems (I preordered Pariah Nexus at the same time). I tried to get it shipped to a store but the website wouldn't let me select my local so just got it shipped to my house. I'd happily pre-order from an indie store more often I wasn't so worried about missing out on these sorts of limited releases.

 

At least I can actually focus on painting the units I actually need for a tournament next week instead of the new shinies!

 

EDIT: And as soon as I start moaning I get a shipping notification!

Got mine on Saturday, love it, still slightly annoyed there is no deathwing icons on shin plates, but only really very slightly
