@Mazer Rackham Especially when coupled with the Doom Eagles' drawback of double cost for Fellowship advances. Talk about a kick in the knackers when you're trying to improve your "people skills" as a knuckle-dragging Astartes brawler. The first Fellowship improvement alone cost him 1000xp.

Edit: I just realised I could have used Titus in place of Aarval Skaayn as (reluctant) Watch-Captain. Though I suppose that might have caused temporal issues...

No one expects the Spanish Inquisition Ordo Chronos!

@Lysimachus Zidemi hasn't yet taken the opportunity to see to Ki'shar's quarters or collect his effects (if any), given his late arrival, the training and the sudden Ork incursion.

As he investigates his quarters, is there anything particular I need to know or do?

Yep, you'd find a fairly standard cell, but with a small metalworking set-up in one corner - not a proper forge, but one of those little anvils and various small hammers, punches, chisels, wire brushes, etc.

You'd find a half finished piece atop the anvil, a dark metal star and a pair of wings, not yet joined but obviously made to fit neatly together. Though a different icon, thIs trinket might remind you of the piece Moridyn brought you that had belonged to the fallen Star Phantom.

It seems Ki'shar was a capable craftsman, and perhaps might have been in the habit of making these honour gifts for his squadmates in his limited free time?

@Lysimachus
As a new member, do I get to requisition anything for the next deployment? If so could I get a motion predictor for my bolter & the dipole magnet attachment? And if there is anything left over a fun grenade or two would be interesting.

Busy, busy weekend. Feel like I need a second weekend to get over it. I'll get caught up tomorrow though and start posting in the IC thread, as well as looking at the rulebook re: advances.

We ain't shipping back out for a bit yet. We'll presumably re-requisition then.

Yep, Necro has it correct, when we next need to arm up I'll reset the Requisition sheet for new Renown level and Req Points.

no worries! I’m not in a hurry, just thought it would be an excuse to visit the forge for some interaction since I don’t need any repairs yet

That's an excellent thought. Ok, well I was thinking that Req wouldn't go up a lot in terms of points (15 > 20) but people would be Respected so there is a bit more choice?

So, on that basis you could take a Motion Predictor, but it would use up your full amount, so you'd have to wait and see if there was any Req left over as a team before taking extra bits?

But remember that as a Tac Marine, you also get 1 free clip of SIA of your choice, so you could pick that up too?

Omoc will be looking to part trade his heavy bolter, only a few thousand rounds on the clock and one careful owner :p

And then possibly spend that 500xp on a signature sidearm.

no problem, I will just take the predictor for now. I will have to look through the ammo.

Yep, that's fine!

The only thing I'd say is that a chainsword is only 5 Req and Initiated, whereas SigWargear let's you take something that is up to 20 Req and Respected, so if that is all you want it for, you might get more bang for your buck by spending the xp elsewhere and keep on Requisitioning the chainsword?

Edit: I suppose you could upgrade the chainsword to Exceptional for +1 Dam and +5WS when using it, but even then that's still only 5 x1.5 = 8 Req

Alternatively, you could now take a power sword, and fluff it as a fancy chainsword?

Edit edit: this is of course entirely up to you, however. If you want it to be your chainsword, then go for it!

Like I say, it's totally up to you. An axe is obviously properly wolf-y!

I was just thinking about it a bit more, and if you decide you want to SigWargear the chainsword, I will allow it to be a super-exceptional* one, that is 5 x2 = 10 Req, adds +2 Dam and +10WS to use it.

*definitely not Master crafted, because we aren't at that Renown level yet... so nobody else start asking me for Master stuff, clear?
