Sounds like a great idea! Hagga will return from his wandering to the bridge, so can maybe talk to the Gunnery Chief candidates Crux'as found?

If so, can I please request the names/identifying marks of the key bridge crew, as per Hagga asking them previously?

Senior Helm - (I put Acastus Toulk as a placeholder in my post, but apparently he looks more like a Claude?)

Comms - blind lady ???

Augurs - ???

Gunnery - Milo

What other stations am I missing...?

I have placed a 'ship's roster' spreadsheet in the Resource Tracker workbook - since, to be fair, crew are resources at the moment...that should work for now? If you boys think up any more 'Stations' there are several placeholders that can fill in. Alternatively, they can be used as the 'Second Shift' as Hagga alluded to in the IC a few posts back.

I think everyone on Juno has dropped their Init, so now we'll move onto the fun.

I think that the crew might return as Flayed Ones

Not a bad idea.

*Scribbles*

@Lysimachus and @Lord_Ikka if you could work together to panel interview the candidates that would be solid, obviously you've got some leeway with how you handle it, unless you need any response/interaction from me, have at it.

@Xin Ceithan I think you're on the platform so pencilled you in - drop me a number when you have a sec, please?

In related news, since the PCs started out on the Bridge ( and my usual busy day ) I assume that Rakash remained there to keep an eye on things during the landings…

I didn’t / don’t want to detail the narrative but would like to drop a short line or placeholder that Rakash would at least contact Haga after his call about something Delphi being loose on the ship - they might want to discuss things in private away from the Bridge crew…

I’d also like to remind our busy GM that Rakash recently acquired Warp Sight - which states that the character might even unconsciously notice warp stuff around him like a Surprise Roll …

something like say, a Greater Daemon piggybagging a mortal form…:whistling:

I’m actually assuming that Haga encountered something mimicking / burrowing recently those mortal shells btw and that the Milo killed on the bridge was indeed just a mortal doll at that point and not a Daemon Method Actor:laugh:

But especially after Haga and Rakash talk about this, I’d wager he’ll be a bit more … sensitive… to the issue of possible hidden assets around him going forward….

I just read the crew roster and lol'd

Question - is Master Guns something different from Gunnery Chief? (I'm not 100% familiar with the naval terms) Is Koada the name of the guy we should end up with from the 3 candidates, or is it a different bridge position entirely?

@Xin Ceithan yep, that makes sense, we can definitely assume Hagga would explain fully when he sees Rakash in person (agreed, privately!)

Edit: I'm heading out in a bit and won't be around until early evening, so will be tonight or maybe tomorrow before I can post much...

Edit edit: If Xin wants to post, feel free to include Hagga coming back and relaying what he saw/heard?

I'll post an intro to the possible gunnery candidates tonight when I get back into work, but I'll be on vaca in DC from Sat to Weds and be very spotty in my posting after the intro.

Ah yes, of course.

Hmm, that page appears to be missing from my PDF. I do here have a sticky note saying 'sometimes these creatures are so powerful they may mask themselves at will, but only for the GM.'

It's a long note, but it is here. Hmm.

The rest is ok, yes, I'll pull you from the Init roster.

It's just a bit of flannel language, he's your gunnery chap. The rest is all ok, too - enjoy your day.

No worries - appreciate the nod. Hope you have a good time!

@Mazer Rackham quick question about this combat: we (read: someone/anyone) needs to be making navigate tests on top of many of the rest of us running and gunning, is that right?

You have it precisely.

EDIT: To add cinematic feel of mowing your foes down, you may also assume that if a group of enemies is coming from a single direction, they are within 2m of each other for the purposes of targeting SAB/FAB.

Cheers for the heads up, updated now. In my game we usually only do that for elite/boss enemies so I forgot how RAW does it

Much appreciated - to be fair I can completely dig why you can do it like that, deffo adds quality of stuff being blown to bits, but sometimes I like to throw curveballs at my Players by mix-and-matching armour or enemy types, so it becomes relevant to do it RAW (occasionally we live dangerously, though ). I find I can track Mag Damage much better, too. If it's any consolation I used to run a Heavy Bolter in a DW game, so rolling lots of dice became quite the bullet-hell!

Nice shooting, btw. Just to reiterate - yes, absolutely, any targets which come in from the same direction will be within 2m so can have hits allocated. Thought it might be satisfying to mow them down.

Point-blank Frag rocket when?

The dredges defensive turrets may be a little more appropriate that its main batteries.

Imperial weapons tend to be 'space is big, starships are small, so just blow up everything in that broad direction'.  Though lances would certainly do the job.

Lan...ces..? L...ances..?

If the Dredge knew what those were, sure...

TBF, the weapons batteries comment is merely narrative, one way or the other, we're going to get it done to reward Player initiative.

So the party have moved onwards. The T1 remnant that was at our 12 is now at our 6?

GM - Thematically the party has followed Obadiah's shortcut and run past.

Is it ok for Kraggan to attack it on the move past with a charge?

The encounter is built so it doesn't matter where it is.

It has also taken at least one turn, so the party would have turned off from the enemy at 12, which would leave it at 3 or 9.

If you are saying you passed it, I will allow the attack, but not as a Charge. In fact if you've passed it, that means you and the target get an attack of Opportunity as you both enter melee range of each other, because Charge is a discrete action, and your prior turn you effectively used actions Delay, and Half-Move.

Technically, we have also moved to Round 2, and the chance for an attack has gone. However, I will allow the Attack of Opportunity, but only because it makes thematic sense here and adds some narrative weight.
