Thinking about it, you could perhaps acquire the technical diagrams to something if you wanted.

Xerxes has been steadily collecting servitors from the station and ship to add to his earlier recordings and these new samples - in part for his advanced scrap code generator but it works both ways. Just needs parts, plans, and time as you say.

When can we call him 'Overdog' then?

The Laws of Acquisition:

After careful consideration and out of generosity to my own sanity, my Ruling on the ACQ process will be thus:

Players will follow the rules laid down in the Core Rulebook with the following modifications.

  • The rule about modifiers being less than zero preventing the roll are to be ignored. These modifications are to be used against your Infamy Stat as any other characteristic. Note that obviously, the thing takes care of itself - if your Infamy is 30, and the Item tops out at -50, you ain't gonna get it.
  • The FAQ regarding changing availability due to location is to be ignored. The GM has levers to throttle OP gear ACQ, or to generate a boon of largesse on behalf of a grateful benefactor to reward play or co-operation. This is one of them. Removing this is nonsense.
  • The ability to 'fish' for items on Crit 001 is to be ignored for the purposes of Acquisitions. It doesn't happen, end of.

I refer all Players to the Campaign Rules, especially Rule 1, if they feel this is not satisfactory.

Quod scripsi, scripsi.

Alright gentlemen, since we have some time and a little room, please have a think about any items you wish to make Acquisition Tests for that you don't already have. I encourage you to have a look at the resources tracker spreadsheet, and see what is there, and prepare to make Tests for what is not that you would like.

Ask for what you want, please don't just decide you've got it in your pocket.

When you take possession of the Razor, you will be contacted by Seneschal Strabo. At that point we shall make the Tests, and the extra gear will be dropped off en route. At this point Strabo is a Trader, so Infamy Tests are more about your reputation than threat. If you request gear that is obviously mission-related, you will benefit from the Rarity of the item as RAW in the book.

When you board the Razor (which will be soon) you will find the following in the secure cargo hold:

  • 8 x Munitorium Grade Demolition Charges
  • 1 x Stasis Casket containing six Drukhari Warriors (Dead)
  • 1 x Weapons Crate containing:
    • 10 x Drukhari Splinter Rifles.
    • 20 x Splinter Rifle Magazines.
  • 20 Supplies
  • 20 Fuel

Speculation, screaming and planning may be done below.

@FabiusV4lcoran are you referring to this?

Thanks GM! All very reasonable, good ruling!

With that, I guess I might as well throw in a roll to look for Hellfire/Metal Storm Ammo? (I don't really mind which)

Acquisition Test:

Very Rare -20

Single Clip +10

Common Craftsmanship +0

Inf 30 -10 = 20, Roll: 76... nope!

Oh well, no harm done!

Question- Do we know where/whom exactly we are supposed to attack for the Tigress? I know it is a rival of hers, but I don't think we've been given specifics yet.

Good question.

Also (unless the Razor comes with one) we still don't have a Navigator? Are we asking Rakash to do it, or are we just taking multiple short hops to get where we are going, and hoping for the best?

Finally, I assume we can make a heading going past Bounty on our way out of system? How close do people on the infiltration team want to be dropped? Right in orbit (shorter travel time, but maybe more questions to answer?) or a bit further out (longer, but a lone shuttle might be easier to slip past orbital sensors?)

They were taking the Wasp, right?

If we can get the clothes/disguises, an Arvus Lighter might be better to take as it is a fairly standard Imperial shuttle. It has no weaponry, but would be a natural transport for someone like a RT's servant or a mid-level trader to ride in.

Yes.

Your axe is Extremely Rare -30, goes up a step for rarity in situ to -50 if you want it now.

If Crux'As does the biz, (i.e. successfully convinces the Seneschal it's all for the mission good), it will come down by -10, so you final number is -40 then.

@FabiusV4lcoran

Oh well even at - 40 it's a no sum. Kraggan only has 31 Infamy.

No argument about how it works (it's very clear) ...but I'll admit I'm a bit thrown by the way Acquiring Weapon Upgrades works.

You take the Rarity of the Weapon and push it up one step for the Upgrade, and that's your target.

Which makes perfect sense if your trying to find a completely new weapon with that upgrade... but if you're upgrading a weapon you already own, you've already got the majority of what you need? Why is just getting the upgrade parts equally as difficult as getting a whole new weapon?

Side point: I love the Storm Field upgrade... but it worries me slightly too... Adding +2 to Dam and Pen sounds great - 2d10+6 at Pen8 on Kraggan's Axe sounds awesome... but an average of 1 in 10 of your hits bounces back and hits you instead... even with not adding StrB that's a worrying amount of Wounds to take...?

I guess using InfP rerolls would take the risk down quite a lot, though? And Khorne cares not...

Well, I've got this in writing from you now, so expect me to pin it to the toilet door...

GM Query: No, there is no Navigator. For narrative convenience and GM propensity for unplanned explosive encounters, short hops is your best bet. For those of you experienced with RPG's such as DnD, this is the 'travelling' equivalent, with the (albeit low) chances of random encounters.

And there may also be explosions.

GM Query: this was my intention - the Mandeville Point is at the system's edge, so Bounty is on the way.

I would like to test to acquire the following items:

Comm Leach

Acquisition Test at -10

- Very Rare (-20)

- Single Item (+10)

- Common Quality (+0)

Infamy 31-10 = 21

Roll: 52, Fail

Multikey

Acquisition Test at +10

- Scarce (+0)

- Single Item (+10)

- Common Quality (+0)

Infamy 31+10 = 41

Roll: 86, Fail

Metal Storm Bolt Rounds

Acquisition Test at -10

- Very Rare (-20)

- Single Clip (+10)

- Common Quality (+0)

Infamy 31-10 = 21

Roll: 42, Fail

No new gubbins for me I guess.

If there's no placeholder/post from Mr Mojake by sunday, I'll move the  dead men  platform dwellers to the docking zone, and we will put Varne into the GM bag of holding.

Sorry folks, went camping in the NY Moors for a long weekend and had no signal at all. I'll catch up now.

Mourn would like to get some alcohol and grenades.*

Would I do an acquisition roll for both, or could Mourn attempt to persuade the Seneschal to get some wine? (He is EC after all).

*Don't try this at home.

It does, you get your choice of bumper sticker for your starboard exhaust cowling:

  • Think Bike;
  • If you're reading this you're too close;
  • My other ride is a Land Speeder;
  • Wish my wife was as dirty as this jump pack.

Hope you had a good time camping, and the weather was good for it.

EDIT: @Iron Father Ferrum there are some tools and gubbins in the team armoury. If you have a look at the Resource Tracker in the google drive, you'll see there's a Multikey in there. I forgot to update it when the rolls/requests were made.

Is it my sloppy record keeping or did I miss a raise in Infamy seeing everyone seems to be at 30-something?

In any event - would acquiring / purchasing information work like a test for services ? ( aside from the IC post ) ?

On the equipment side, the only really interesting things might be a psychic hood .. or maybe a set of shimmering robes if we are ToF. Both at extremely rare, so I’d need not bother at Inf 25

A few haywire grenades might come in handy though?

If you recall, you actually lost a few points of Infamy for the Delly episode, since Uncle Huron was not in the mood.

As per our discussion, yes, of course. You just need to let me know what it is you want. The more arcane or rare the info, the harder it will be to get.
