CSM 10th edition Chaos Lord in Terminator Armour

 

This is a topic about Chaos Lord in Terminator Armour in the 10th edition.

 

  • Do you use them?
  • How are you using them?

I like this guy. He's lead 5 man and 10 man packs of Terminators, and I've run him solo a couple times to act as a terror agent.

In the Terminator groups, it all depends on the number. If leading 5, they usually deepstrike and go where I need pressure. 10 man most often start on board and push to the center to try to hold it. As a solo unit, I try to deepstike him in the opponent's backfield, and with such a small foot print when alone, he can appear in most places I want him to be in.

I never regret bringing him. He buffs the terminators, or causes havoc on his own. He does shine when with a group of terminators though, pacting and getting rerolls to hit really helps with the chainfist.

My Terminator Lord has a combi-bolter and chainfist. 

He works fine in any detachment I've put him in, not sure if there is one he's not good in, maybe the Cultist detachment, but I have no desire to play that one. 

Fellhammer, he's with a brick of 10 terminators and will take the Bastion Plate.

In Soulpact, he and the terminators will most likely be Khorne or Undivided, since their melee punch is a lot harder than their shooting. If I'm not taking a Demon prince, he'll get the Collar enhancement.

fellhammer in a 10 pack of termys with bastion plate... the tough just got tougher. small arms bounce off as is but with him in this detachment heavy weapons find it harder to wound and then he can just turn some damage off... rough... just when i got my termy squad to 10 including the termy lord i now need another termy again... great.... 

I like the idea of a Terminator Lord in Pactbound with Intoxicating Elixir. A 5+ FNP combines well with halving damage. You even have a strat to heal him back to full health. He's very durable for the points and even a solo Lord deep striking in the backfield can be very frustrating for the enemy to deal with.

I've used a Khorne Terminator Lord for solo drops in my opponent's back field. While he did die, he tied up a unit of coptas and bikes for a few turns. He killed off the coptas and reduced the bikes to a point that my traitor guard were able to take them out. 

No one wants this guy running free in their back ranks.
