Scale 75 Necro gold on both of them. I use that most of the time, I think it's just the lighting

Bit of a slow week last week, only got a couple nights painting in since I was getting TTS reps with a list before an RTT yesterday.

 

I did manage to finish up the Rhino I started in February.

 

 

And the Lords Kakaphonist and Exultant.

 

 

Amusingly, one of my buddies had to borrow a bunch of my CSM and EC for the RTT yesterday since he's still building.

 

I played him (because of course I go to an RTT 45 minutes away and play 2 people from my local store I play all the time) and he beat me. With my own models.

 

Ouch. 

 

The infractors and tormentors will be done tomorrow, then it's on to a bunch of Dreadnoughts.

Lord exultant and Rhino are very good.

The Kakophonist is also quite good, even if I am not too fond of the rainbowish blade. But it is all about personnal tastes, so obviously biased.

Very nice work on these modales anyway.

So glad to have discovered this thread - it’s full of inspiration. I actually preferred the “colour blind” Behemoth scheme.

 

I like to play against my own models because (a) it lets me see the front, and (b) it lets me see them on the table instead of in the spectator box where dead models go.

I really like the rainbow blade (particularly on the kakaphonist), so different strokes for different folks, I guess.

I'm not sold on the blade personally, was very much a "I wonder how this would go." The experiment started with fluorescent paints but it was going too slow so I switched to inks haha. I might go back to the standard steel look in the future.

 

I did manage to finish up the 5x infractors and 5x tormentors today!

 

 

I've started on the 5x Dreadnoughts already and have the black done for all of them. I ordered some Black Templar decals and will probably be making them into BTs since the codex is coming out soonish.

 

Should have WIP shots up tomorrow!

We had a model flea market day at one of the stores a week or two back so I picked up some random stuff. 

 

TAU?!?!

 

Really happy with how the Ghostkeel is turning out

 

 

 

Also some tetras, not as much paint ripped off when i pulled the tape off as I was expecting 

 

There's 4 broadsides in progress too, but I'm going to brush paint the black segments because taping and puttying all the plates took too long and I'm lazy. 

 

I've still got the Dreadnoughts on deck with all the black paint done, I'm just waiting on decals to get delivered before working on finishing them up.

I was able to finish up the Ghostkeel and first broadside tonight.

 

Pretty happy how they turned out and the first time I've ever used panel liner, so that's something. 

 

 

I've got the 3 other broadsides oil cleaned up and drying, and the 4 tetras got oil applied tonight. 

 

I'm also working on my first commission piece (I'm always reluctant due to the color blindness), but seeing as this is for the guy who has won every RTT at our local FLGS and, due to scheduling and being the person I play the most and am 1-27 against in 10th, I figured it fitting to hold his world eater forgefiends hostage while "totally working on them." Ha, suck it Matt.

Okay the tetras weren't finished, I was too optimistic. But I did finish the last 3 broadsides and the only 2 drones I've got.

 

 

Some look like theyre missing shoulder mounted weapons but i legit know nothing about Tau other than those are 3 rail guns. Such expert.

And now I've finished up all the Tau models I got from the local guy, so back to the Forgefiends and I think the Dreadnoughts.

 

Apparently I didn't get bases for any of the tetras and just noticed haha
