i await a days when the rules are good enough looking to tempt me to build the model i have planned to represent one... it is not this day...

 

a fair ammount of this reasoning is to do with how poor flyers rules are in the core rules this edition. they really need to slash flyers down drastically accross the board...

I think it goes a bit beyond that - even if aircraft needed countering, I don't think the Heldrake is potent enough to efficiently do so given its inflated point cost.  But really, that's been a problem since 8th edition - its good to have a fast harassment unit, but it actually needs to either be cheap or powerful enough to at least do something when it gets there... which it just hasn't (and still doesn't).

Every time I feel like putting this into a list, I sit down until that feeling goes away.  As cool as it looks, its lethality is underwhelming especially for the price point.
