I'd like such a MadMaxian setting for KT. Fast vehicles, hit and run tactics, rapid oblique movement... I do miss GorkaMorka.

There was a White Dwarf rule set for 500 point mini game a while back that was all about mounted. Could be fun, if people actually had 500 points of mounted!

If KT does turn out to be Exodites I will be going feral until I have them in hand.

I have long resisted the temptation of the alien, but promised myself I would cave if we ever got space elf dinosaur knights.

I would prefer this lead to a full stand alone army but if they end up like Harlequins and Corairs as part of the wider Craftworlds codex I won't be mad. Gives me an excuse to get the other models in that range I really like.

I know I will be disappointed most likely but I'm sure other reveals will help soften that blow.

I can hear my wallet screaming in terror.

From rumours Valrak heard (if i remember correctly) the exodites (if it is them, rumours are lies and all that) will follow the pattern of Krieg and the Cosairs. That means starts off as a squad added into the main book but then gets more support. However, that does imply that they won't be seperate from normal eldar

I honestly think plan A was reveal the terrain for the first time here.

It's a huge shame but it seems - only seems - that Warcry is being relegated. That's a shame, as it had fantastic mechanics. The minis gave real character to esoteric chaos cults, little details on a scale that couldn't really work in a larger army.

I hope I'm wrong and they're revamping with more minis.

I'm sure we can get Tyranids riding other Tyranids. Epic had the Dominatrix, I am sure we can wrangle something up. :p

I'm also not letting the "scales" reference get my hopes up. People will start chanting Exodites and GW will give us more Arbites instead.

Part of me thinks it will be mounted cavalry Exodites vs Chaos SM Bikers (possibly with an Emperor’s Children paint scheme?) for Kill Team.

Based on the current Armageddon theme and release I'd be surprised.

However, the Kt rumours we have:

Nobz vs LotD

Grey Knights vs ?

Exodites

Bikes vs Dino riders would be fun though. Especially if doom rider snuck in.

More Heresy? Excellent!

I'm thinking possibly Destroyers, Seekers (I think both of these would fit with the upcoming Zone Mortalis Journal) or Recon upgrades, as others have said, the MkIV would be a good base for these units as a bundled box.

What I'd love to see is them to fill out more of the weapons missing such as combi-weapons, Cataphractii options. Or selfishly Grey Slayers (or any Legion's unique unit would be cool).

Left field:

Sisters of Silence refresh (I think probably too close to Custodes refresh) or Khan on his bike for the Scars.

It was rumoured that GK would be against Khorne...something? Not sure if it was berserkers or demons.

Im expecting them to show some of the upcoming kits for Orks and SM, maybe a small roadmap for the codices after SM/Orks.

For KT theres so many cool rumors and almost every KT kit has been really fun so whatever new thing they show Im sure its gonna be great, new GK and Legion of the Damned would knock it out of the park.

As for the Heresy, I doubt they will show it this time but with the new Custodes I hope they also remake the Sisters of SIlence, they were such a disappointment with their weird poses, limited to one kit and just left to gather dust after they came out, like Im not expecting a whole new line but just split the infantry into two kits, give them better poses and a character and that would just be all they need.

While a base SoS kit refresh would be nice, I'd personally be happy with just a new kit. Put them on bikes to keep up with their custodies friends, or give one a jetpack for some more mobility. Just... do something more with the range please GW, even if it's just one kit (and make one of the kit be able to be a character like the current one so we can get a two-fer).

Conversely, I don't think we will. We may see the kit for this week's Hive Death Mire winner but that's all I'd expect on the basis of the current world wide participation thing.

I don't think we'll see the full marine/ ork waves until an August preview/ September.

I can't see them showing off just the (already spoilered) prepainted terrain and the cover of a codex or two.

Surely there will be at least some new minis, right? For 40K, that is.

On one side yes, but on the other hand it doesnt make sense because the event is before the deathmire event where the entire point is that you fight for that "early" preview.

So Id say the first new Orks/Marines we see will be based on this weeks deathmire results.. likely next week.

I did theorise somewhere else that, in an unprecedented situation ( well, unprecedented only in the last decade.) the Orks and Spacemarines codex are not the first codex, instead there is a codex coming before them.. not too far from now, maybe even july or early august ( as the starterset two are usually more in the september/oktober timeline), with only a pity release.

There are some where it has some logic to be more imminent ( I also included the pity miniature in question, mostly based on rumors of such releases ), but most have a strong counter argument :

Blood Angels + BA terminator captain or Gabriel Seth -
To follow up on their launchbox attention, right around the time when they have to hand the banner back to ultramarines for posterboy privileges.. a small pity price.
However, the likelyness of this is near zero... after all, you cant really release a supplement months/weeks before you release the codex it supplements. I know the old codex is still valid, but you get what I mean.

Ultramarines + New Guilleman -
to do the opposite, Bloodangels got the launchbox love, and now ultramarines need to steal back thunder with their own (first) supplement. While this one has a bit more logic to it, as there is no Ultramarine supplement yet, and lots of Ultramarines things released in the past half year, the same counter-argument still stands strong.

Custodes + FW releases -
FWs plastic custodes completely shifted the envoriment of the old codex.. even if the datasheets for the FW resins where not IN the codex. But, this is a thing they have announced with the FW plastics, that 40k Custodes would get a major rules update soon, it might be that while it was originally intended to be a digital update only for 10th edition, they shifted gear and just release the 11th edition Custodes codex with the second FW wave and include them in the codex for a change. It would be a big shift in approach, but not entirely impossible imho. I know the counter-argument, but background mandates CAN change. ( also dont forget that the OG plastic custodes and sisters of silence kits are also FW releases.)
That suggested mandate is also the counter argument though.

Imperial Agents + Inquisitor -
There might be several things they need/want to change here.. including viability to play them as an army. It would explain them being skipped with the detachment love if their release is more imminent than the Orks and Marine codexes. There are other things to be said in its favor.. (deathwatch datasheets representing an oop release for example)
While there is little counter argument here, my gut still says absolutely not, and the above 3 are more likely... perhaps Id say the counter argument is that for all intends and purposes, agents seems to be more an afterthought.

Keep in mind though, all these ranting words are talking about a 1-5% chance already, its more likely that GW just does weird things on the presentation side. ( Like saying on the preview.. "here is the cover for the first new codex : Spacemarines! who would have thought, we wont show new miniatures yet, and it will be released in 3 months".. and thats it. )

There is another possibility, while we have come to associate codexes with armies, this wasnt always the case.. we have had codexes (and equivalents) for terrain or settings in the past.

So that first codex could be a Codex : Armageddon.

However, the biggest counter argument to that is that they have purposedly moved away calling those things codexes while still making similar books.. it would not be in line with their behavior to start calling those kind of books codexes again.

I was curious so I looked through the army lists, and a surprising amount of factions can actually run full 500 point mount lists, especially if you use Crucible of Champions rules for mounted characters. Most Xenos factions except Tryanids, Space Marines, CSM, Thousand Sons, Chaos Daemons, Custodes, AdMech, and Astra Militarum can all do it.

Scales, dinosaurs, Exodites, trivago.

Alpha Legion, Sslyth, Arbites and probably bunch of other things could count too (are there any Tytanids with scales?).

I want Exodites as much as anyone else, but "scales" can refer to many things.

I'm looking forward to what's coming for Necromunda, Legions Imperialis, The Old World, HH and even Bloodbowl.

Hoping Legions Imperialis gets a nice boost. Legion specific units would be a dream, but Destroyers and the like also.

Don't swan in here with your fancy logic and facts @Dezron and ruin our unfounded wishlisting!

But yeah you are absolutely right. We'll know soon enough, as much as it strains my patience.

Did I hear unfounded Wishlisting?

You must've heard about the Plastic Warhound Titan that's been living in my brain for years... and they are sure to announce any day now... any day...

Large in size? Large in lore? Large in an unexpected direction?

:unsure::confused:

Annoumcement of Kill Team offshot KT: Space Hulk, where they stuff things like Terminators (and their equivalents from other factions) Kill Teams.
