Well, they said the weapons sprues will also be released seperately in the article so I'm quite happy. All that is left is to decide how many sprue of each I want

That's entirely possible, but even if there are no "spare" head options, it looks like it'd be easy (and possibly intended) to just build the Lieutenant with the helmeted head and give the bare head to the Sergeant, if so inclined. The heads may look to be leaning slightly in different directions, but I think that's largely due to a bit of a tilt in the Sergeant's torso.
