The Garren Project

Ok it's dread legion, and whil I'm waiting for the deamon hunters mod to download:

Xerian stummbled out of the burning thunderhawk. All around him chaos scum died, their lungs bursting and their body's being washed into space. He saw trhe foul chaos commander, green tendrils of energy fingered through space to the Emperors Crusaders battle barge. Xerian cursed, this was why he crew had turned apon each other when the bio missile struck. He screamed with rage and brought his power sword down on the things head, even though only his brothers on the com-link heard the scream ,because of the deperesuised state of the area. The chaos thing sensed Xerian and snapped of the phycic connectino just as the servant of the Emperor's blade struck home.

It bit deep into corrupted flesh and snwwped age old bone, only to have the creature reform as the blade left. It brought out a huge warsythe and stared at Xerian, it's eyes carreing a hate that no words could describe.

----------------------

The duel lasted for an age, Xerian had been trianed it the martial art style of fighting that his chapter employed for decades. His blade moving live quicksilver, blocking, slashing feighting and blocking again. His miand aware of every moement of his and his nemesis's body. His oponent had been fighting for long melenia, and had the support of his bloated god behind him, it was in many ways like the battle bettween the Empeor and Horus. The nurgle commander could survive blows that would shatter bulkheads and didn't need to be skilled with his weapon of choice. His swings were deadly and evey time he blocked one, Xerian's arm jared with the force of a pack of gfrox hiting a wall. His arm ached with a dull throb that got orse with time. But he was winning.

Suddenly a bright light flashed, behing his his battle barge erupter in flames and turned into a gaint fireball. Heading towards the chaos ship. The chaos commander took it to his advantage and struck Xerian a blow that severed his arm. As he slumped to the floor the dicspile of nurgle left him and his squad to die in the air tight, rapidly burning bridge.........

Ectothrix grinned as his deadly scythe tore the marines arm from his body. 'Take this one' he commanded his warriors as the daemon of the vessel finally locked down the hole in its hide. The vacuum cut off abruptly. The warrior's dragged the marine from sight. 'Ectothrix to all vessels, begin the plague bombardment and begin deployment.' He looked at the rents in his armour and slowly they began to fill and harden as if they never were.

---------

Brother Sergeant Decrid looked up at the objects dropping through the stratosphere, contrails of fire burned their way across the night sky. 'What comes brother?' One of the marines of his squad asked him.

'Are the civilians all under cover?'

'Yes brother, they are.'

'Good' Decrid replied 'we must find cover ourselves, it has begun.'

---------

The sky turned a sickening colour of grey as the plague torpedoes smashed into the ground. Deadly clouds of noxious vapour spurted into the air, hanging thick and foreboding, cutting down visibility. The battle for Garren Prime had begun.

hehehehehe, you haven't just captured my commander have you???

All your bases are belong to us :)

Gives you a good reason to write a daring and glorious assault on my lord's ship to rescue your commander before he gets munched.

Blood wraith; i get the impression that you think i'm picking on you, i mean no offense and i apollogise if i sounded like that.

About the battle barge -i was under the impression that it was fully manned, no wonder it fell so quickly! my bad. :)

And about being outnumbered, each chapter, despite being in the same sector, is still very far away from immediant response to your DG attack, hence you need not worry about being swamped by five chapters, Fuzz hasn't even called for help yet! <_<

My regards, bloodwraith.

Everypne else; About the enemies we are facing; so far, i've been basing my stories on table top encounters, which included a fair bit of mutants and IG (which i just made out to be heretic PDF units), it's only recently i have made contact with Emperor's Children and Night Lord Chaos marines, even though they are not the forces that Fuzz mentioned, its reasonable to assume they aren't very large and organised forces, just smaller warbands that stake claim to the planets they are encountered upon, or even garrisons.

What i'm saying is, keep your imagination broad, i mean, wats to say eldar pirates won't just turn up inconviently for us to pick on refugees and the like while the chaos and confusion of war is upon us? catch my drift?

Also Fuzz, i'm working slowing due to my teritary education kicking off again for this term, and i'm working on several stories at the same time, they'll get there, i promise! :P

Till Then,

The Emperor Protects,

Brother Lucas

Uriel sat in the command room of the Unending Vengeance deep in contemplation, in front of him a glowing holo-map showed the Suro system, it planets slowly spinning, all coloured in a pale green. *the second world is now ours, the first has been pacified by inquisitor Kilotsky and the fourth by inquisitor Gamon. The third is a dead world so that leaves

A small poorly written scene to set up my Yel Vipers (3rd Company) with Black Legion and some unexpected allies....

Bridge-Commander Bacchus shifted on his throne his fatty distended body sucking loudly at the worn leather upholstery. The intense magnetic fields of the gas giants in this part of the system were irritating his system auguries causing him to sweat heavily. He barely registered Chaplain Darius conferring with Brother Lathos the Justice Ferrus' BridgeMaster. Bacchus didn

Yel Vipers, Black Legion and ;)

The character my account is named after makes a mysterious appearence.

I've intentionally kept the location non-discript so I can tie it in with someone else if I want to.

The Justice bled atmosphere into space as the Black Legion cruiser squadron established a holding formation around the wounded vessel. Dreadclaws inundated the intervening space overwhelming the Strike Crusier

Yel Vipers and Black Legion

The proverbial hits the fan for everybody

Skillfully darting between the larger cruisers the Cobra fired off two boarding torpedoes before evading the chaos escorts on a heading outside the formation

The fleet hung in space above Sisco, its orbital defences destroyed. From the Unending Vengeance came tiny black shapes, barely noticeable in the black of space; these were joined by more shapes falling from other ships. They hammered into the atmosphere, from planet side they looked like tears of fire falling from the sky, blue flames appearing at their front slowing their descent, but only a little.

A figure watched this scene unfold from an outcrop, a great black robe covering his body. He was a space marine, tall and proud, his long blond hair reaching his shoulders; he was the image of the emperor

Brilliant Kael, thats some storys :D

Anyhoo:

Just as the quad of nurgle marines left the bridge somthing strange happened. A huge start ship, dwarfing the battle barges and chaos ships battling above Garren prime surged from th warp. It's once blue armour had been patched and repaire and hundreds of battle scars littered it's surface. But the floating chapter fortress of the Salafain Raiders, 'Deaths messenger' was one of the oldest ships in the galaxy, and it took more than a few holes to cripple her. Silently she sped of batteries of guns spiting doom, and from he many launch bays came small flying shapes, most headed towards the ships or planets. But one crached into the hullm of the nurglich battle barge. Inside Ancheit Brother Erethox of the 1st company of the Salafain Raiders awoke and steped through the hole burned in the hull, spoting his prey he took up the call of the hunt and harged off.

The chaos marines were more than suprised to here a blood curdling howl from behind them. Turning they saw the mighty dreadnough bearing down on them. Two were pulped by the anchiet warriors fist instantly, a third was was crushed underfoot and droped the unconsious shape he carried. But the fouth put up more of a fught, raising his sythe he blocked a blow from the machines power fist and swepy his sythe under it's guard. As he hit home he felt a moment elation before he reialize he had only carved of the extra armour on the machine front. Soon he was flying through the air, battered and bruised, knocked out by the force of the drednought blow.

The mighty warrior disactivated his power claw and picked up the Space marine Captain. He turned and headed for the bridge, to rescue the others.......

You think you can just attack my vessel and get away with it? Have at you imperial lap dog, you know not what powers you are messing with. Viva la revolution.

----------------------------------------------------

Clouds of deadly plague hung thickly in the air. They floated gently as if they were being controlled by some insidious intelligence. The first dreadclaw smashed into the ground, biting deep into the diseased earth. It cracked open like a rotten egg, spilling its deadly cargo. Skeletal plague marines in faded grey armour appeared from inside the dreadclaw. Around them more deadclaws slammed into the earth with bone jarring force. More plague marines appeared from the drop pods.

----------------------------------------------------

Inside the under-ground bunker systems the marines checked their weapons and prayed the litanies. They would not remove their armour again until the fell forces of chaos were dispatched from this planet. Brother Sergeant Decrid looked around at the marines gathered. They were all from different chapters. Each chapter was represented by ten men. These were the warriors of those chapters who were not yet at full strength.

'Brothers' Decrid voice rang loudly 'the enemy is come, at last the end game draws to its final conclusion. Our fleet has been severely damaged, fighting has broken out across the system.'

Murmuring arose from amongst the ranks of the space marines and Decrid bought their attention back to himself 'but i stand here before you, unafraid.' He roared this last word and watched the effect it had on the assembled marines 'we are all space marines the Emperor's finest, there is no place for fear in us, we are the embodiment of fear to our enemies, even those who were once considered brothers.'

'I declare here today, before the Emperor and those who have gone before us, you are all my brothers. For the man that sheds blood with me this day is truly my brother. The Emperor watches over us and i declare to our enemies, We are not afraid.' He was drowned out by the roar of a hundred voices as the space marines of the varying chapters joined in unity, their voices as one. Decrid smiled, truly the enemy had no idea what they were about to face.

Decrid watched as the marines formed into squads, the small groups of warriors of Vengance lead by their new captain, Ezikil, his own brothers led by, well him he supposed. All the other officers were ether dead or still in space, he had command. The last goup of space marines made him frown, The Salafian raiders, they had disapeared from the Imperium 500 years ago, but now they had returned, with their chapter monestary in tow. He sighed, but they were good fighters and he needed men, he nodded to their commander and to Ezikil, he made the sign of the aquila over his chest, then strode out towards the surface

Hey, hey what are you doing lol? where did the vengeance blokes come from and why are you taking over my crusading army? i thought your army was somewhere else on the planet. I was going to have a split battle. As for running out onto the surface, not even marines can survive in the deadly plague, hense why the are in an underground bunker. I'm confused now, i have two armies in system. The DG blokes and my Crusading army, hense why i'm controlling them. Please let me know whats happening.

Sorry Fuzz for my extremely long absence, tafe tends to drag me away from the things i love, but i have had afew battles recently which are now circualting through my mind for more fluff, its about time i left Bracken IV, and moved on, spent far too long there...

however, here's what i have done with the battle report/story including the night lords..

--------------------------------------------------------

Brother Janus heard the scream of the incoming artillery.

Fuzz: The planet wasn't actually nuked mate, it was virus bombed. I had this image in my head of the defenders having no choice but to stay in their bunkers and having an underground war, which travels through out the vast network of tunnels and bunkers. There are also vast city scapes inside some of the more major caverns so it gives alot of room to fight. Anyway on with the fluff. Decrid is one of mine and yeah i'll control my guys and you control yours, that way no confusion.

-------------------------

Chancroid, Aspiring Champion of nurgle came across one of the armoured hatches leading into the bunker system. He chuckled wetly, surely the loyalist dogs did not think this would keep him an his squad out. 'Cystitis, bring your melta gun up here now' Chancroid commanded. A skeletal plague marine appeared near the Aspiring Champion, his weapon at full power. 'Destroy the door.' Steam hissed and metal screamed and ran as the plague marine bought his powerful weapon to bear. Within seconds the door was a puddle of molten metal. 'Come brothers' Chancroid roared 'our feast waits within.'

-----------------------

Alarm sirens went off all through the main bunker complex. 'Door 7-5 is breached, the enemy is inside.' Chaplain Quintus Scipio Vitalis of the Ice Wraiths powered up his crozius as he and his men raced down the tunnel towards door 7-5. 'Lock and load brothers, i want all weapons hot before we engage.' Quintus ordered. He heard the distinctive snap-hiss as both plasma guns were primed. As they rounded the corner they caught sight of their enemies.

----------------------

'Doors 7-4. 7-3 and 7-2 have been breached.' Sergeant Chike and his squad of Emerald Scorpions ducked into the man made niches on either side of the tunnel as the plague marines opened fire. More plague marines were flooding into the tunnel as the minutes passed. 'Squad, arm krak grenades and take out those tunnel supports. We'll bring the tunnel down so these diseased scum will need to find another way in.' Chike pulled out a krak grenade and armed it. Brother Adofo slid a missile into his launcher and hefted it into position. 'Fire in the hole' he warned as he squeezed the firing mechanism. The missile roared down the tunnel and blew one of the supports to bits. The ceiling creaked ominously and the plague marines paused. 'Fall back!' Chike roared as he tossed the primed krak grenade down the tunnel. His brothers followed suit and then they turned and raced away down the tunnel. Brother Apis top half disintegrated as one of the Death Guard plasma gunners found their range. The krak grenades detonated, fire boiled down the tunnel, engulfing the loyalist and chaos marines alike but the flame did nothing more then singe the paint of their armour. The tunnel collapsed with a shattering roar.
