Fluff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finaly I got round to writing it :o

Above Garren I, the space marine battle barge Fury of the ancheints orbited in compleate scilence, nothing was turned on save the radar deflectorrs, it glided towards the planet, not noticable from the planet below. Suddenly in put on a burst of speed, every orbotal defanse sensor in the space around the planet screamed warning before being blown to peices by time deleyed charges. At the same time every brodg on the planet shattered into hundreds of peices and hundreds of important building exploded in balls of fire. On board the ship Captain Xerian smiled, watching blosoming explosions on the planets surface, the enemys of the Emperor fear many things he thought, remembering a verse of dedication taught in every chapter, they fear death, discovery and failyer, but above all they fear the wrath of the Emperor's space marines, he chuckled as he strode of the bridge, they would have much more to fear by the end of this day.......

All I can do at the mo, got to go now.

'Fuzzy'

Lord Ectothrix stood aboard the bridge of the Despoiler class battleship Syphilitic Violation. He watched as rainbow of colour streamed across the geller field surrounding the vast craft. He knew the craft did not need it but he liked the maddening dance of colour as the warp entities attempted to break through. 'Hail the captains of the Erisipelis and the Furunculosis' he ordered in his gurgling voice. He brought up the positioning and tactical read out and was pleased to note the squadron of idolators and infidels were spread out for imminent re-entry.

A screen buzzed into life next to him and the pustulated form of captain Folliculitis, Captain of the Erisepelis, came into view. Sores wept openly on his face and his distended gut bulged obscenely. Seconds later the other screen buzzed to life and the wasted form of Captain Hidradentitis, Captain of the Furunculosis, also came into view. 'So good of you to join me gentleman' Ectothrix spoke in his usual urbane manner 'we approach the Garren system. None other then Lord Typhus has informed us of a build up of loyalist scum in the area.' The other Captain's mouth distended, saliva dripping from their broken toothed maws at the thought of the slaughter ahead. 'We will drop out of the warp just outside of the first planet in the system' Ectothrix continued 'we will deal with any enemy stragglers and gain a foothold on the first planet. I have been assured by Lord Typhus that our brethren will aid us in any manner we see fit. Ready your ships gentlemen and be ready to bring disease and damnation to our enemies.' Ectothrix cut the link and looked around the bridge. Ectothrix stood a little over 8 ft tall, his body was skeletally thin, compliments of Grandfather Nurgles latest blessing, along with the mighty scythe containing the essence of Botchulism. Ectothrix ran his hand down the blade of the scythe and felt the bound daemon purr. Soon, Ectothrix promised the purring daemon.

Reality buckled and tore assunder, as the fleet of the Initiatus Quo Bubonicus exited the warp. The worlds of the Garren system glowed with beautiful light as the ships with the most evil of intent ghosted through space towards them. The Inperium had no idea what was about to befall them.

I supose if you drop newt to Garen I, have a gaint space battle with my marines, make planet fall and then start virusing the planet so we can fight it out there then sure, you'd have to comune with the others if you want to fight them, but I'm happy to fight you. And of course there are plenty of ways I can't cast you back to abomination, :cuss Muhahahahahahahaha.....

cheers

P.S.: Very nice fluff

The footsteps outside of the massive wall stoped ringing on the steps. Inquistor Kou heard the tones for failed access codes. Then all was quiet. The vidaugries showed the green armored Chaos Marines attaching small devices to the door.

Outside, the PDF forces had gathered thier wounded and dead. They were forming for what they knew would be thier last act of heroism, a charge against the Chaos Marines.

A roar sounded above them and a Thunderhawk gunship fell from the sky, breaking on jets of fire at the last moment. Twenty Space Marines jumped out of the lowering ship, thier florescing yellow and orange armor almost blinding in the winter sun. One of them broke off and approached the PDF forces. "Get the wounded on to the Thunderhawk, our Apothecary will tend to them." he said and ran toward the entrance the rest of the marines had just past through.

Vet. Sgt. Onomichi made a quick assessment of the stairwell. Grenades could not be reliably droped to the bottom of the shaft due to overlap of the stairs. There would be no way to avoid making noise on the old steel steps. "Flamers to the front. Move at pace." he said quietly. And they proceeded down the stairwell with all the speed they could manage.

Far below the corrupted marines of the Death Guard were planting thier remaining meltabombs on the huge door. As one they turned at the loud, metalic clanging of armored boots on steel steps.

Greetings Battle Brothers,

Once again i must send my apologies for my absence, once again. Mixing school, with a full time job doesnt leave much time for me to come online, let alone do the hobby that i love. To place even more trouble on me my hard drive decided to...become corrupted by the Chaos Gods...so i had to purge it. As such i have lost everything, including the bit of fluff i had going. Rymeer if its not too much trouble, do you think i could get a copy of everything you have on the Garren Project, that way i could transfer it to my personal computer (which i hold, and create all my fluff on it.)

Anyways, i must be off to work. I shall return hopefully soon.

Keep your Faith in the Emperor Strong Brothers,

Six of the Deathguard turned and climbed the steel steps, their green cermaite boots leaving a trail of slime on the treads.

Far above, Vet. Sgt. Onomichi notices the added noise of the ascending Chaos Marines and signaled for the squad to be cautious.

Minutes stretched like hours as they descended into the depths of the station. A bolter shell exploded against a stair a flight down. The shell was immediately answered by two gouts of liquid fire, which was in turn answered by a scream.

Bolters sang and boots rang as the two groups of super-humans rushed to engage each other. Bolters chipped armor and chainswords gouged arms and legs. Fire sprayed across the already burning shaft.

The weakened stairwell suddenly gave way dropping the bodies of the righteous and unrighteous indiscriminately. The dead and living fell through two flights of metal steps, before a lower flight caught their fall. The already smoky hall was suddenly filled with light, smoke and the smell of burning metal.

Down below the Chaos marines examined the partially melted vault door. The still glowing metal was unsutable to safely attach more meltabombs to. "We wait." stated one in a quiet, commanding voice.

edited for spelling

The drop pods smashed into the dirt and the doors blew out all in one motion, the marines sprinted out with Uriel and Michael among them, the brother looked up to see a massive monument, a great work of stone in the shape of some strange rune, it surface was dotted with offerings, anything from chained skulls to the flayed skin of whole bodies of men women and children, fires bunt at its base and the very sight of it sickened the angels to there very souls. Uriel roared * FORWORD MY BROTHERS WE SHALL NOT LET THIS FILTH DARKEN THE LIGHT OF ARE EMPEROR A MOMENT LONGER!!!!! HAVE NO FEAR!!! FOR HE IS YOUR SHEILD!!! MAY WE LIVE FOREVER IN HIS LIGHT!!!!* Michael pointed his ancient Crozius forward and roared *DEATH!!!!!!* every marine answered the call *DEATH!!!!!!* and they charged forward.

The traitors had not sat idle and had manned the trenches, with cultists to the for and marines at the back though Uriel could not make out there legion fully from here as the were moving away, but he made out at most 15 marines, basically they were using the cultists as a meat shield. Heavy weapons began hitting the marines as they charged, marines had begun to fall but hatred had given them a new speed and they slammed into the first trench obliterating the first wave of cultists with shear momentum alone, this momentum carried them a further three trenches, all in there wake was pools of blood and lumps of flesh and bone. Uriel looked forward only *a further three trenches and the will meet* Uriel

Ectothrix exulted as the ship bucked beneath his feet, the front batteries raked the adeptus battle barge. The Erisepelis and the Furunculosis added their combined firepower to the incandescent blizzard of lazer energy streaming from the Syphilitic Violation.

'Lord' the communication officer gurgled at him, his eyestalks waved about on their stalks in his excitement 'the battle barge is breaking orbit, the dogs are retreating.' Ectothrix chuckled liquidly, no wonder the Imperium was falling, what with a corpse on the throne. These so called marines were weak, Ectothrix mused to himself.

'Intensify firepower from forward batteries, drive them from the planet.' Ectothrix felt reality buckle and the battle barge was caught between the two fleets. 'Ahh" Ectothrix said to no one in particular 'our allies have arrived.' Fire gouted from the side of the battle barge and Ectothrix's laughter echoed through the bridge.

Commander Castiel stood in the operation center that he was directing his scout forces from, directing the information to the other chapters as it came streaming in from his scouting forces.

"Commander Castiel, reports continue to come in regarding the presence of plague marines and the forces of nurgle on our last flyby we belive we saw plague marine ships moving into the proximity of Garren 1 and engaging imperial ships how shall we proceed" reported Lt. Commander Melik over the vidscreen.

"Return here at once and recall all scouting forces, we have enough information collected to wage war on our hated enemy" Commanded Castiel as he turned to his companies Chaplin "Prepare our awaiting brothers for we go to join this battle and exact retribution for those fallen at the hands of the plague marines"

"As you command, For the All-Father" Chaplin karoz stated as he exited the operation center.

Vet. Sgt. Onomichi raised himself up from the bent and burning stairwell. A few quick bolter shots into the less armored neck coupling of the Chaos Marines ensured that they would stay down and that the corrupted progenitor gland would not be harvested. Two other Oracles also rose from the burning mess of steel, ceramite and flesh. Far too few.

"Tomo, secure the bodies of our battle brothers on the landing above and join us as quick as you can. Sama, you're with me." Onomichi said. The two started down the stairwell, as Tomo begain rigging a pully to raise the fallen marines.

Down below, the six remaining Deathguard heard the bolter shots and the clanging on the stairs.

Deathguard Sgt. Gruman spoke quietly into the televox implant, trying to raise the Chaos Marines above. After several, failed attempts, he turned to his compatriates and simply said "Make Ready." Five of the six Chaos Marines checked thier rusted, slime covered, but very functional bolters. The sixth one checked the vault door and begain placing meltabombs on the slowly cooling door.

As Onomichi and Sama rounded the last flight of the stairwell, the air became fluid with the mini-rockets that were bolter shells. Thier blessed armor deflected most of the shells, but others found weak spots and penetrated. The shells, not mere lead, but miniature bombs exploded within the flesh of the Space Marines. Even the enhanced muscles of the Emperor's Finest were shreaded by the explosive bolts. Both marines fell down the stairwell to the feet of the awaiting Deathguard. Ceramite boots kicked the the marines onto thier backs. The five Deathguard were immediatly bathed in promethium and the single bolter round from Sgt. Onomichi exploded against a Chaos Marine's amor and exploded. There was a 1/10th second gap that seemed like minutes. Then the five Chaos Marines errupted in flames. The flames consumed everything in thier path. The steel steps melted. Armor and flesh melted. The meltabombs ignited in sympathy, filling the shaft with light, smoke and heat.

A wave of heat passed Tomo as he secured the last Battle Brother on the landing. A second later a wave of searing light, much hotter, was pushed up the shaft followed by another wave of flame. The steel stairs and landing sagged, but held. However, the stairs below him, weakened by the heat, collapsed. The marine sighed and started carrying one of the fallen Battle Brothers toward the surface. He called to have an Apothicary meet him at the surface.

Wow Bw, we need to comune about the story line!!

Anyho, to counteract that vie attack I will do this:

Warning light flashed inside tha battlebarge, crew were hurled from side to side in the smoke wreathed corridors as lance strikes smashed into the ships hull. The forward launch bays were hit by a corrupted torpeado turning all indside to plague slush. Luckly for his chapter, Xerian had left the launch bay moments before the projectile hit, his soul creing out for revenge, his thunderhawk banked steaply into the hail of fire. Somehow it avoided the barrage and made it's way to the corrupted things bridge.

-------------------------------------------

Aboard the syphilitic violation Ectothrix was laughing, untill a space marine thunderhawk smashed through a superheated hole on the bridge side, one it had made. However, nurgle had blessed him and he only noticed it had happened when his crew starded dieing, air or no air, nurgle kept him alive, he turned, shicked, and rew his wicked blade................

cheers

Captain send me an PM, let me know where you want it to go and i'll tell you what i have in mind. Right now i have some marines to slaughter. Say goodbye to your desperate thunderhawk strike :D

----------------------------------------

Ectothrix looked around himself. All around him the crew were dying, he watched one crew member pulled through the hull his body tearing apart as his body was impaled on a section of the super heated hull. The crew member screamed but no sound issued forth. Then the body tore in half, blood sparkled and hung in the air in globules for a split second and then were sucked through the hull. Ectothrix cared nothing for his crew, they could all die for all he cared they were weak mortals and the daemon bound to the great ship could do everything a human could do but more efficiently.

Bolter fire pattered off Ectothrix impregnable exoskeleton another blessing from Nurgle. He felt the flesh of his armour run and then reform and he bellowed with laughter. The vacuum cut off abruptly as the daemon realised the ship was in danger. With a shriek of rage at its wounding the daemon controlling the vessel launched a barrage of plague missiles at the listing battlebarge, which was trying to roll to present its shielded side. It was too slow and the plague missile ripped through the hull releasing the zombifying agent into the ships interior. The crew died and reawoke under the command of Ectothrix.

-------------------------------------

The marines were outnumbered and they fell back to the drop pods. Zombies exploded as the marines in the rearguard blew them to pieces. The squad rounded a corner and saw the way to the escape pods blocked. 'Come Brothers' Sergeant Delin commanded 'this plague is to powerful and may breach even our suits, we need to get to engineering and overload the vessels reactors so it doesn't fall into the enemies hands.' The marines fought their way to engineering, cutting their way through the zombies. The flashing warning lights were all that lit the way and the macabre orgy of destruction visited upon the zombies stood out in stark relief in the flickering blood red lighting. Brother Zeltan grinned as his roaring chainblade cut through another zombie 'I think we could clean this vessel out ourselves brother Sergeant. Zeltan turned to dispatch another zombie and cleaved its hand off. The zombie grinned and sprayed the diseased blood into the marines intake, clogging it. Zeltan gurgled as he collapsed to the deck and zombies crowded in. Delin cut a path through to his fallen brother. Zeltan rose jerkily.

'Are you ok brother?' Delin jerked as the whirring chainblade cleaved through his chest plate. 'Better then ever' Zeltan replied ripping his helmet from his head, his fevered eyes glittered. One of the marines raised his bolter and splattered Zeltan's head all over the bulkhead with a well placed shot.

---------------------------------------

Ectothrix grinned as his whickering blade cut down another marine. This was almost too easy he thought to himself, if this was the best the enemy had, this conquest would be a cake walk. Only three marines remained when the plague marines appeared on the bridge. 'Take them alive' Ectothrix grinned as he said it 'it has been a long time since i've tasted space marine flesh and it tastes so much better if we defile them with myriad disease first.'

-----------------------------------------

Aboard the battlebarge the much diminished marine squad entered engineering, dark except for the pulsing glow of the vast reactors.

'Any ideas on how we make that explode?' Derak demanded of his squad. One of the brother spoke.

'Raise the fusion rods, rig them with melta charges and then re-sink the rods into the reactor, it'll blow this ship to bits and anything within a kilometre radius will wish they weren't.'

'Do it' Derak commanded, he had been second in command and had instinctively taken up command as his fearless leader had been cut down. 'Take whoever you need and the rest of you will help me hold off the flood of enemies.'

The marines chosen to rig the fusion rods went to it with a will. 'Bar the doors, weld them shut, kill anything that comes through.' Delin roared out orders. The blast door sparked as high powered melta guns were brought to bear to crudely weld the doors together. 'Nothings getting through that sir.' The bulkhead bent inwards as the zombies began their assault.

-------------------------------------------

Hope this is fitting in with your story CFB. I'd appreciate it if you don't kill off too many of my guys as i still need to assault the planet. Like i said PM me and we can correlate and make this the best we can.

Inquistor Kou awoke amid flames and smoke. The blast doors had been melted through. The stairwell was filled with melted and crumpled steel stairs. He could make out the bodies of over a dozen space marines; some in green armor, some in yellow and orange. None were moving.

He looked around the chamber. There seemed to be flames everywhere. He stared with horror as he saw the feeding tubes were aflame and were pumping burning nutrient into some of the psychers.

He tried to stand up, but fell back on his face. Looking down, he saw that he had no foot to stand on, literally! On one leg the flesh and bone had been melted away. The Inquisitor reached in his medical kit and injected himself with a potent blend of stimulants, antibiotics, and pain killers. He would pay dearly for it later, but for now he could act. He bound his wounds carefully, but quickly.

The wounded Inquisitor crawled across the floor to the ancient console. There was an ancient wheeled chair sitting there, caked with dust. He pulled himself up on to it and pushed off with his good leg toward a fire extinguisher he spied. The wheels did not turn. Instead the chair dumped the Inquisitor, uncerimoneously, on the back of his head. Kou supressed a verbal curse, it would not do to envoke anything unwanted.

Inquisitor Kou climbed to one foot and hopped toward the extinguisher. It was also covered with dust, but appeared to still cary a charge. He spent the next several minutes putting out the flames. Several of the astropaths had died of flames and smoke.

Unseen, a black crystal, amid the ruins of the blast doors, started to glow green.

We need more then one antagonist in this story so i vote that we bring in another race of antagonists. I was thinking the necrons as they would be the greatest threat either that or tyranids just so we don't have my poor DG outnumbered by all the other loyalist chapters. anywho on with the action

------------------------

Warning sirens blared through engineering and all became chaos as the zombies tore through the blast door. 'Open fire brothers, controlled bursts' Derak roared over the howling bolters 'drive this filth from us with righteous fire.' Engineering lit up with incandescent light as brother Zeroth brought his flamer to bear. Flames gouted with a roar like a wounded catachan dragon. The zombies continued to advance blazing with flames. Flesh melted and ran under the torrent of blazing promethium. 'Are those charges ready yet?'

'Not yet we need another minute.' One of the brothers replied.

'Brothers now is the time for our last stand, fire at will.' Derak roared. The staccato chatter of bolter fire roared through engineering. The marines retreated slowly up the metal staircase cutting down the zombies before them.

'Damnit those charges better be ready brother.' Derak glanced quickly to his left seeing one of the brothers set the last charge and give him the thumbs up.

Taking his bolter in one hand Derak screamed ' Ave Imperator, let our sacrifice be worthy.' Derak detonated the charges.

The dying battlecruiser listed dangerously, flames gouting from its side. Suddenly the engines overloaded and actinic white light consumed the cruiser and spread outwards the shockwave shook the ships in close proximity. When the light faded the Divine Guidance, Blessed Battlecruiser was gone as if it had never been.

I was thinking the necrons as they would be the greatest threat either that or tyranids just so we don't have my poor DG outnumbered by all the other loyalist chapters. anywho on with the action

I don't think thats a good idea, i mean, it's not just the death guard, its all the heretics, mutants, other legions and any other assorted chaos worshippers that we are fighting here, so the DG aren't outnumbered, and judging by your story so far, these "poor, outnumbered DG" seem to be having no trouble at all in destorying our allies, in fact, i think you seem to be going out of your way to have them all sitting by the Emperor right side, its not that easy to kill loyalists, and i know for a fact that killing Death Guard is nowhere near that hard. :D

However over exaggerated your story iss, i myself am not really that fussed, seeing as you're in only a very small area of a very large campaign system, and your actions won't effect the overall result to any huge degree.

Bah, i'm starting to rant, the thing is:

The Garren system is very close to the eye of terror (Capt'n Fuzz made that clear in his pre-campaign fluff as we were joining, i don't think you know because you weren't here then, but meh.. no biggie).

Therefore, based on that fact we can conclude that:

-The DG are clearly not the only opponents we are facing, as the Eye has far more in store...

and

-The tyranids are on the worng end of the Imperim to have any involvement watsoever in this campaign, without waro travel, they simply can't make it, at least not this millenium. (as an aside - the Nid's wouldn't actually help anyone, they'll merely dominate the campaign by assimilating each planet in turn, denying us our battlefields and the generally killing the show for us.)

With the nercons, they also suffer from the same problems as nids (to a certain degree) as far as stealing the show goes aswell.

What i'm trying to say is, the DG aren't alone, they have every other chaos-type within reach to ally with, and if we put in another race, then we risk dilluting the story, espeically when we based it so heavily on reclaiming this system from chaos.

So, just don't worry about being outnumbered, after Fuzz, everyone else is way out of reach anyway.

Till then,

The Emperor protects,

Brother Lucas

We need more then one antagonist in this story so i vote that we bring in another race of antagonists. I was thinking the necrons as they would be the greatest threat either that or tyranids just so we don't have my poor DG outnumbered by all the other loyalist chapters. anywho on with the action

I don't think thats a good idea, i mean, it's not just the death guard, its all the heretics, mutants, other legions and any other assorted chaos worshippers that we are fighting here, so the DG aren't outnumbered...

I believe that Capt. Fuzzball indicated a 2 other Chaos chapter was involved:

Black legion

Black armour, gold trim

A very versatile legion, a chaos version of a codex chapter.

Death Guard

Green armour, roting, lots of decay and deases

Mainy linfantry, no infantry mounted heavy weapons, true grit, hard to kill.

The Dread Legion* (one of my own ideas)

Rotting flesh like armuor with a black trim

Surgical strike army, lots of sorccerors and deamons

edited: Originaly Death Company. Changed by Capt. Fuzzball later.

I thought he should change the name of Death Company, so as not to confuse it with the Blood Angels Death Company. But otherwise, it gives him (and you?) another flexible force to utilize.

judging by your story so far, these "poor, outnumbered DG" seem to be having no trouble at all in destorying our allies, in fact, i think you seem to be going out of your way to have them all sitting by the Emperor right side, its not that easy to kill loyalists, and i know for a fact that killing Death Guard is nowhere near that hard

Lucas: At the moment i'm setting the scene, the DG basically snuck up on the loyalists which is why they have wreaked so much damage on the loyalist fleet. Also when you look at it i haven't killed as many as i could have. The battlecruiser was abandoned but the last squad of marines couldn't get off so they blew the ship to bits so the zombie plague didn't spread. A noble sacrifice.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm

Necrons sound good but not at the mo, mebey later.........

We are fairly close to the eye but far enough away to not be caught up in the 13th black crusade, hence the fact there were not many defenders when it fell, 'cos they had been draughted away and chaos warbands took an opertunity.

Bw is right plot wise

thats all for now.

cheers

Cap: you need to change the death company it will get confusing. How about the Dread Company or the Dread Legion? something along those lines.

Lucas: Actually i have a feeling the majority of my DG (except my lord and a select few) are going to get slaughtered. Against 5 chapters i wouldn't have a chance without support.
