So am I back from Indiana. I have to head back to move In-Laws into a Retirement Center, in a few weeks. And of course everything goes sideways at work moment I get back. So hobby time has been non existence. Silver Lining is LGS not get Saturnine until Monday, so I can get everything I need to do first i.e. my XIXth Legion and Exorcists Call to Arms Vows, that I have not started. And won't have time this weekend.
I did start on building one of My XIVth Legion Commanders, not sure w
The Resistance have finally captured the war machines they believe they require to make their stand.
Brutus, the Malcador, reliable, dependable the spine of their battleline. She will not fail them. She will hold the line, her battlecannon roaring, her sponsons blazing as she paves the way for the Resistance's advance.
The Iron Duke, his twin Earthshaker cannons blasting holes in the enemy's fortifications. He guards those retreating and the wounded behind his massive blast shield
Hit the throttle on the Wreckas last week. I've been painting pretty slowly this year all things considered, decided to change that with this project. Finished up free-hand on a few items, got the squigs painted up, did the bases and oil washes last week resulting in a final project I'm pretty happy with!
I dug out some of the leftover terrain bits I had from the sector imperialis/Chalnath terrain. I put a fine terrain paste around those bits and then put in some sand to act as larg
Hi Folks,
Today’s blog entry is a little bit specific as it deals with something different from my usual inputs: instead of reporting hobbying progress, I will talk about a trail I did for a new technique (à la TITH – i.e. something that is not new in general but new for me).
The technique is often reported on purpose of adding details and create battle damages or war-torn marks on miniatures. But beyond painting damages, the sponge might be used on purpose of
Finished termagants brood and first ripper swarm. Like models, even though they're push fit. But due to how they sculpted it's fine even if you make a full brood of same sculpts they looks great.
Painting this guys is a truly rest after Militarum infantry. May be it's a different scheme or models. I don't know. But I'm sure this year I'll going with alternate painting. IG and Nids.
Now I started my little, though very hungry Tyranid forces. I decided to continue my theme of lizard/zaurus theme I used for my reveners kill team. Reworked a bit skin tone by altering midtone. And make unified for whole force color scheme. Ivory/pinkish belly, new ivory-orange-brownish red scythes/talons/barbs.
You may have to use them for combat, but the build I propose gives them hybrid utility. Leaving a unit on an objective at the end of your turn means your opponent needs to commit and potentially outscore you. The knives and chainsword give you a better chance to do that, and might mean that you score that objective next turn. I personally like the Lone op Lieutenant and frequently run one, but in terms of contesting objectives (which is what you want scouts doing, at least until something bigger
Just to note, I've also tried Incursors in a similar role, which are similar (80pts for 5) as they have the bolters and combat knives, and they just aren't as good as scouts for more points. I also find that you rarely get to use the ability where you shoot something, and the rest of your army gets +1 to hit on it, and I was actively trying to use them like this - so the scouts would likely have similar issues getting any use from the bolters. The Incursor's version of the Missile Launcher is th
