The upgrade set chest pieces aren't Primaris scale, and while its possible that GW let this one set through, but I think it's likely that we're seeing these before the models has something to do with production issues on GWs side and the delayed release of the "Primaris" BA, while Joytoy was already producing/shipping. We'll know soon enough, either these will be part of the BA release, or they won't. I'm betting we see them down the road. -

I assume this has been commented on already, but the Blood Angels Veterans look like the first JT figures I've seen not based on available models. Given that they have the "Primaris" greave features and scale, I think we can assume this is an upcoming kit when the BA codex drops. -

Absolutely stoked for this: models, rules lore, all of it. Did I see a rumor the three main Ordos getting a box? -
Rumour Blood Angel Boxset

Although I doubt we'll see them this edition, I'm looking forward to the jump marines in the light (Phobos) and heavy (Gravis) armor models. A squad in Shrike's style armor and assault Inceptors would be awesome. Plenty of babymarines to redo first, (vanguard, tacticals etc) but heavy assault jump Blood Angels would be awesome. Also, noting the datacard entry for "Chaplain with Jump Pack" still in codex with the old BA model as a pic, this makes me wonder if were getting Lamartes, or a general Jump Chappy with some BA gubbins. -
I'm not unhappy with the game overall, I kickstarted this game and I've been really excited for my favorite genera of RPG set in 40k. The tone and lore are spot on, but I have to say that the labyrinthine leveling system, (similar to Larians Pathfinder games) is sucking a lot of the fun out for me. I'm not a min-max guy, but I also don't want to make a broken build. The dozens of options every level up, which happen every other combat, makes what would otherwise be exciting a chore. While I don't want something oversimplified, I find I spend almost as much time looking at skills and trying to find synergy as I actually do playing. The combat so far (early game) also feels a little repetitive, with enemies presenting no real tactical puzzle. I think less might have been more in the character development side, and maybe some time spent making enemies more tactically interesting. I'm hoping there might be an overhaul to the system down the road, but for now I'm slogging through not because I enjoy the tactics, but to follow the story. I think my recent plays of BG3 and Chaos Gate, with their excellent Story and Combat polish, might have set me bar a bit high for what I expected from this game.

Not sure if the is the appropriate place to post this: does anyone have a line on where I could track down the legio Vulpa transfer sheet? It’s gone from the GW web store and now I’m worried I missed it.
-
Any guess when it might show up? I entered my code but nothing yet.
-
That’s a great format, very helpful thanks!

Not a competitive player asking out if curiously: I’m wondering what SM units folks think that are more viable with UtHotE? Impulsor a have been discussed, aggressor? Or even the hammerfall as a back line defense unit while the crusaders go running across the board?

Shoulders and heads are totally compatible, I wanted a little throwback look for the veteran squad

Given the number of inquisitor models that have trickled out, is it crazy to think a supplement might come in the future? I daydream of a box of henchmen for killteam…

I’m happy with my bladeguard ancient, and now I can get moving with my kitbashed chapter ancient I had planned :) (I won’t lie tho, a fancy Templar banner wouldn’t break my heart.)

My shopping list: Lunchbox Helbrecht Grimauldus 2 crusader squads 2 sword bretheren 2 upgrade sprues one more box of Bladeguard depending on how they look in the new codex, which Im betting is still great.
-
Well yeah, but since im getting the starter box and already have a couple impulsors and tons of intercessors its less of a bargain personally than Id hoped. Still, just me griping out loud, its a killer deal for a new army build.
-
Personally a bit bummed about the combat patrol, great for someone building a new army but for me it’s all stuff I’ll already have. I was hoping bladeguard or a SB squad would make it in.

Change of subject: now that our beloved Templars are cross the rubicon, what kind of primaris units do we think might be coming down the pipe? I’m hoping for a LR crusader analog to carry these big units, a flyer and maybe a new drop pod.
-
I think it’s very telling that in the most recent codex the only firstborn infantry models shown are bespoke chapter specific. I think once primaris gets its unit slots filled (flyer etc) they get their own codex.
-
I've rather enjoyed the whole lore aspect of Primaris as it's been fleshed out, it explained the massive influx in marines which was needed to boost the imperium back into contention post the rift, it also explained the new toys, as well as added an interesting element to the backstories of the various Primaris Marines. Often the juxtaposition between their outlooks, often from more enlightened times, has given an interesting insight into events. I think it’s been handled well in lore, and I always try to keep in mind that the lore follows GW biz decisions not the other way around. GW wants to sell more models leads to: revamp the highest selling line into “true scale” leads to: make up a story to make this decision fit into the fiction. As a fan of the primaris aesthetic (dwarf marines look goofy to me now) I’m glad they did it. I’m looking forward to firstborn and primaris getting split into separate codecies. That book is getting too damn big.

I dug out my 4th edition BT codex which has the original story with no mention of the fallen. I think the edit to make it fallen by a DA fan is right, particularly with the later note about DA destroying the ship.

Goosebumps. Even better than I imagined:
