Flint13's Achievements

  1. They are World Eater tactical squads, "improved" by Master Apothecary Gahlan Surlak to be stronger and more rage-filled. They get +1 strength and FNP 6+, while also being unable to score or be joined by characters. They also don't give up a Victory point if destroyed. In combination with their chain axe, they effectively have krak grenades for hands. One krak grenade per unit... how about four grenades per marine?" ~Gahlan Surlak (probably)
  2. "This is from Matilda."

Please. I'm all Russian and German. No place for wonky Brit tanks in my garage XD
  3. What are you running in two other pods to do this? 3 seems like an exterminatus! Two dreadclaws filled with Augmented Inductii.
  4. I've been using three in pods, two with drills and melta lances, one with grav, snippy claw and volkite. I've found the target saturation of three on turn one helps.
  5. For me, it isn't the cost or the slightly underwhelming firepower. It's the huge chunk of points that aren't available to you from the start of the game that, at best, are going to show up and start affecting things in full by turn 3 for arguable gain. The issue is really rough when you see them loaded with a close combat squad, since it's always a hassle. Like Slips mentioned, if you're sold on arial transport, I'd go Kharyibdis. Or dreadclaws, those are always a blast.
  6. The Sicaran Venator? It's spectacular. Anti-armor is good, but it can punch far above its weight class and shut down enemy super heavies. That's unique to it, the Falchion and the Cerberus.
  7. Ashc, If you're just getting into 30k and enjoy terminators and infantry, you might want to take a look at pride of the legion rite of war. It moves terminators and veteran tacticals to compulsory troops and let's you start playing games quickly. It also scales well from smaller starter games, adding on as you improve.
  8. ^If you're thinking of scrapping the chosen squid and land raider, where would you place Mor? Castellax with Darkfire are spectacular, and honestly they'll do better for you both in firepower and close combat than a land raider and command squad will.
  9. I've done that over about a dozen games. They're entertaining, but kinda work better for my Solar Aux or Dark Mech. With World Eaters, they fill roughly the same role. As to how: Take them as your allied detachment, 2x50 units of inducted levy and a force commander with the Warp Cult and Tainted Flesh providences.
  10. But how do you figure out model count for something like Castellax, which are huge, but don't have Bulky or something because they can't go in transports anyway?
  11. Guys... possibly silly rules question here. So Khârn has rampage. Does rampage work solely off number of models? This is always how I assumed it worked, but this morning a guy brought up he had always played it as equivalent number of models. As in, bulky models are two, very bulky are three, etc. He cited talent for murder as his reasoning.
  12. Angron's 3+ never really bothered me. The majority of weaponry you're shooting at a Primarch is going to be AP2 anyway. There just aren't that many scary AP3 weapons, besides maybe krak missiles. I wouldn't underestimate a 12" fearless bubble though. Having to grind down every single despoiler *or* kill Angron is not an attractive proposition for anyone :D
  13. Too, knights are a little more versatile. All the heavy tanks have a target they aren't so hot at. But rarely is a target laughing off both a rapid-fire battle cannon and a D-saber.
  14. If he can't interact with the business end of the grenade because he's not a vehicle, monstrous creature or building, how could he "tank" it?
  15. Catching a Str8AP1 in the face would be less than ideal for the Praevian wouldn't it?
