Hello everyone, Bit of a weird one, but my search-fu has failed me. As per topic title, does anyone happen to know the word count on "The Emperor's Gift"? Or have a list of word counts for any other BL books? I reckoned these hallowed halls would have some idea. Cheers, MR.

Hey everyone! Back when I first read The Talon of Horus I was pretty keen to have a go at converting up some of the characters from the book, but other things (30k) got in the way and took up all of my hobby time... Now, with the recent release of the Black Legion excerpt, I've again started thinking about trying my hand at converting up some of my favourite characters from The Talon of Horus. I'm most keen to start on Khayon, Telemachon, and Nefertari, but I'm open to suggestion for other characters too. So, I'm looking for some ideas regarding which bits/models would be good to build and base these characters on. I'd love to hear all of your ideas and suggestions. I'll be using these pictures as reference, at least in regards to the aesthetic of the models. Obviously the posing will probably be quite different and I'm also open to suggestions that don't conform to the art in the pictures. Over the Christmas / NYE holiday I was on the epic American road trip (California to West Virginia - and back) with my familial coven. The first leg I did only in the company of my two Canine protectors, and listened to Black Legion book 1 & 2 (and Eisenhorn: Xenos but there's no Templars in that). Something really bothered me at the end, and this question may very well be answered in upcoming books but wanted to know if any one else has mused upon this ... read on with the following caveat... ::SPOILER ALERT::

Man, I‘ve recently picked up Betrayer by ADB because I heard it was good, and because I kind of always liked the World Eaters for their pre-heresy color scheme but never for their fluff. Too much crazyness and blood lust, too much barbaric horde and too little organization and tactics and working together like a proper legion. So I WANTED to like them, but never really did. Boy does that book change things. I mean anyone who’s read any of ADBs books know he’s really good. I didnt like the Night Lords before reading his omnibus either. But he actually got me to like the World Eatersa lot now, and I’m even dangerously close to start painting my second hand Blood Angel army in white and blue with icons and decals of the 12th (Krautscientist bears some blame as well with his incredible Eternal Hunt). Oh the heresy! Anyway, enough mindless rambling - if you havent read Betrayer and have even just a passing interest in the World Eaters legion I can highly recommend it! There’s way more to them than mindless slaughter, and it’s great to read about the how and why they came to be what they are today.
